Picked up the ST 7 seater for NZ29,990 that seems like great value to me, did try to give it some gas on the test drive, x-trail said nah! Certainly not super fun to drive but certainly super easy to drive, you got your review spot on.
@@CarSauce the looks alone for that 2021 Xtrail will be what gets people talking but again Toyota with its history and reliability will be hard to beat man
Great review Matt. Think i'm away to pull the "X-Treamer" version of the X-Trail. Getting a wickedly good price new for it here in Qatar. Have now subscribed, looking forward to more reviews. Cheers.
I got a new forester and I miss my stl xtrail. Should have kept it. It’s a confident drive and I loved the steering. Forester wanders all over the place and has no centre at all on the steering despite 8 alinements. I’m going to trade it in for the new xtrail. Hopefully it comes soon and the steering is as light and easy.
@@CarSauce noticed where you are driving. I’ll Probably get a new xtrail from the Nissan right near your test drive. Do you have any idea when the new xtrail is coming?
No sadly! And it's funny I just live close to the dealerships but get my cars from head office an hour away haha. Sadly no idea when, but surely we won't have to wait too long!
I bought one last year. I can tolerate, high fuel consumption, sluggish acceleration, and the noise. what Im really struggling with is the blind spots, very terrible blind spots around it.
I would never drive a CVT. interesting how models differ from country to country. In South Africa, it has Apple play and a sensor controlled boot (opens when you put your foot under it). I’m all about the tech and fuel efficiency, not necessarily speed, so plan on getting one soon. The 1.6 L diesel tekna claims an impressive 5.3 L per 100km (combined cycle) and the boot is big enough to fit a body. Can’t wait!
Legend, hope they have it and you get to review it. Then take it to the performance shop and get it tuned to 300kw then race it. Lol, JK's. Great work with the videos. Keep it up.
The CVT just ruins it yeh not only the driving experience also they have a habit of catastrophic failure conveniently after warranty period resulting in a costly repair .CVT jatco better known as crapco

Thanks mate! Much appreciated 🙂
What a treat, 2 reviews in a week!
Haha don't get used to it 😅
In terms of looks alone I'd go for the xtrail but generally the RAV4 will reign supreme.
Fantastic review as always...
The RAV4 is just an excellent car, but it will be very interesting to see how the 2021 XTrail will compete!

Car regret is a real thing 😁

Totally agree Matt, it's looking outdated and wow that is noisy! But what a great price, and that interior is 👑 great review!
Thank you! The interior is so great - it makes no sense haha. The value is definitely there, but take one for a test drive before you buy :)
Great review Matt, I’m happy to buy one now on strength of that... gotta get in quick before the end of year to get instant asset write off!
Thanks Peter! What colour are you gonna go for?!
@@CarSauce quiet like the blue, but too be fair whichever deals cheapest... any tips on getting a good deal with the dealer??
Got a Nissan X trail ST in gun metallic paint, awesome love it... great for the family, thanks Matt
The 2020 rogue here in USA has apple car play and a different interface on the display

Doesn’t it have an electronic blind spot warning feature? In my country they do.
Great review as always. The car is very dated. But your right it may make a good value proposition if you could get it at the right price.
Thanks! And exactly right, for the right price, its pretty good!

Dude, what are the chances of doing a review of a vw Tiguan 162 tsi R line?
Honestly a lot is dependent on what VW have in the fleet when I ask! I'll look out for it though :)

I know in the Pathfinder they fixed the CVT, not sure about the X-Trail though (but surely...)
rather the price of the entry model Nissan..
X trail ❤
Love it
Rav 4 always
The rav4 looks freaky with its big nose and ugly wheel arches.
