the hef4069 is a hex inverter, that is often used as a simple signal amplifier so the ghost detecotr is just picking up random noise and amplifying it until its gain is high enough to drive the piezo/led.

  • @EpsilonRosePersonal

For that last device, could it have just been an antenna hooked up to a tone generator and, maybe, some sort of amplifier? It'd just beep whenever it ran into a radio wave that's the right frequency for that length of antenna.

The EMF meter is useful for the detection of power in the case of power outage and detection of certain types of interference to know if you are having problems with transmissions and such. This said even if it was sold as an overpriced ghost detector you can still use it for certain types of troubleshooting and many other things. I would however recommend one with a pinpoint option.

so dark fang is a field detector of sorts. You place on the ground and stand away from it. If it it beeps it means something is close to the antenna. Anything being close to the antenna sets it off. There is a device referred to as a REM-Pod that works the same way, but has other functions as well. Hope this helps.

The fact that it only changes values when the meter is moving isn't the device trying to "horn swaggle" you, it's Lenz's Law. Moving medium has an induced current due to magnetic field, and the device measures the current induced. At least that's what I understand, I have no idea if this is standard for emf detectors but it makes sense logically.

Before debunking or testing anything you really need to know the science behind the theories. The first EMF meter seemed to work exactly how it was supposed to when moving it towards power cables and anything else electrical. Genuine EMF meters work exactly the same way and it is only the sensitivity that may differ (and the way the the results are presented). They are not designed for "ghost hunting" but as an engineering tool. It just so happens that "paranormal activity" can be accompanied by EMF anomolies and that is the only reason why they are used. Most of these EMF anomolies can be debunked as normal EMF residue.

Would that IR camera from the Spoopitron be re-purpose-able as a bed leveler for a massive custom 3D printer? Low range isn’t a problem if it’s moving on a tool head, and the large size is fine if you’re building something with a stupidly massive tool head. Like a printer that uses PVC pipe as filament.

The squishy eyepiece around the camera sensorn is to offer some protection against drops

Wouldn't a hard shell offer more protection?

Here's a free future project idea: feed the video output from the NV1000 into your cyborgMonicle and then mount the NV1000 to the side of your head. Bonus points if you post process the footage to just show the outline of the ghosts, instead of the actual video.

33:53 Also because Dark Fang is at least as bad at being a scary wolf creature as Garth was...

Hey, Zack, I don't know if you had the ability to go to Maker Faire in SF last week, but you should do a video on the computed axial litho printer
From what I understand its a new, open source 3d printer(i believe it uses resin) but it does, what the creator has termed "Volumetric printing". There are no support structures, it is not layer by layer, and the prints are finished in roughly 20-30 seconds.

I almost want to send one of those last devices to Big Clive for a teardown but, as curious as I am, I'm not $30 curious. I am however considering getting one of those IR cameras as an Xmas gift for a videographer friend for whatever spooky movie needs he may have

I stayed at Stanley Hotel. Didn't see a damn thing, did get a scary high hotel bill though.

I’m a newbie to the world of 3D printing, I’m retired and I recently purchased the AnkerMake M5C and I really enjoy it, I’m also getting the hang of using TinkerCad. My question to you is there another slicer I can use with the printer other than the AnkerMake one without needing a raspberry?
