It's always been my understanding that EMF meters were originally just a tool designed for sparky's to find electrical wiring within walls so they didn't have to make holes everywhere to locate the wires. Nothing more, nothing less. Great work as usual Dandalf, thank you 🤍🥰
Oh this is so interesting! I've been wanting to do a deep dive on the origins of EMF. It's always fascinating to see how certain theories or ideas get twisted throughout history too
This was a great survey of the KII. If teams were professional about their measurements of EM fields they would use equipment calibrated for the environment. Spectrum Analyzers are 100k + but they give you the proper data needed to measure the area. Not a $30 KII lol.
Ive always said, and i stand by it (may have already commented this on your channel before), 'To create a device that detects ghosts 👻, first you need to work out what ghosts are made of, and then create a device to detect whateber they're made from', if you want to scientifically prove it at least 👍
Yeah watching people debate what is effective vs ineffective feels nonsensical to me. It’s more a matter of opinion which is fine. But people get so heated in debates and we don’t know if ghosts can make noise, have electrical impulses or can reflect lasers. 😊 It’s something.
I subscribe to the idea that everything is energy or vibrations this would include matter, light rays, electricity, thoughts, and spirits. A scientific way to test that theory would be to take the most material things ie rocks, and the most non material things ie light rays and develop a scale of how they vibrate at the atomic level, then we could make a spectrum of low to high vibrations, and possibly find a frequency where thought s and spirit exist.
I was watching a show, forget which, where a team investigates and then gives the owner their conclusions. They told one owner: there was high EMF in this area where your employees experienced paranormal events. It has a high EMF that can make people think they are having a paranormal experience. But it wasn't evidence the area was haunted.
Was just going to comment the same. I think it was Ghosthunters or the Foreman brothers who found high EMFs, checked the nearest socket, found it faulty and told the homeowner to get it sorted, as that was the likely source of the “haunted” feelings as well as a fire hazard.
The issue here is investigators cannot link high levels of EMF directly to a paranormal source because they do know what it is or if it is even there. it's like measuring a wooden board in a pitch black room when you don't even know where the board is. To do this properly, we have to start by doing the thing nobody wants to do; eliminate the variables that could be causing false readings. If you get false positives, you have bad data, which happens to be two terms you almost never hear during a ghost hunt. They don't need to just change the tools, they need to change the methods. As it stands, almost all paranormal investigations operate under the pretense that a paranormal realm DOES exist and there ARE paranormal entities in this world. And since that is the case, any measurement, observation, or occurrence that falls even slightly outside the expected normal range, is assumed to be influenced by a paranormal entity. The K2 meter measures Electromagnetic Fields. It does not measure ghosts. It is not designed to measure ghosts. There is no reliable data that suggests otherwise. if there was, the data would be as consistent as it is is with actual EMF. Continued use of tools not designed for the job show a supreme lack of qualification and knowledge for the job. With that said, there's one thing I'd love to see. A new type a paranormal investigator. One that is there in the thick of it and seeks to disprove the paranormal using any and all methods used by other investigators. it's not a level playing field without opposition. And if you think there's no entertainment value in 2 teams battling it out, clearly you're not a sports fan.
Let's clarify a few points. The EMF devices are yes quite basic, and the true cause of any detected signals can only be accurately determined with advanced equipment like a spectrum analyzer, which can precisely identify each signal. Unlike some, we don't subscribe to the idea that ghosts communicate through these devices. However, there have been numerous instances where common sources like cell phone RF frequencies or Wi-Fi signals were ruled out, yet unusual detections still occurred in areas where such readings shouldn't logically appear. Lower-level readings could easily be attributed to mundane causes, but when the signal spikes to the red zone, it’s often triggered by strong sources like microwaves or amplifiers. I've experienced situations where, deep in remote woodlands, the device remained inactive all night, only to suddenly react intensely. While there’s no definitive proof linking these occurrences to paranormal activity, it’s clear that the cause isn't something typical. When these intense spikes occur, we pause to assess the situation: Is there any identifiable cause? If not, we stay in the area to observe whether any physical phenomena occur. This approach raises the question of whether there might be a correlation between the two. I firmly believe that these devices shouldn't be used to "communicate" with ghosts. However, they might detect an "entity" if it manipulates or draws energy through electromagnetic fields. This remains, of course, a hypothesis. We continue to document these devices to see if there's any backing to them but we don't completely rely on them. Ps I have considered going into a place with a telsa coil or a vandagraph to see if the energy from them would or could make activity happen. I mean if the entity needs energy then that would be a lot
"However, they might detect an "entity" if it manipulates or draws energy through electromagnetic fields." Big if. Especially since other things could still be involved. Like cosmic events.
@@Unethical.FandubsGames Yeah, I wonder if the big solar storms we had the last few months are setting off rem pods and such. I know thunderstorms can set off rem pods. Now I wonder if lightning will set off a K2, and if so, how far away it might be? There's radio, there's a lot more satellite signal bouncing down for GPS/satnav and TV and I have no idea what those higher frequencies might do to a K2. I assume they'd saturate the thing, but while I do own a couple I haven't pulled them out in years. They probably have old corroded batteries in them now.
I agree with you 💯 I only use it debunk how it works and I notice the closer you are the more it'll go off and the closer you set your gadgets together the more spikes you're gonna get.
We primarily use the K2 for baseline to see if the area is high or not. During investigation I only take it into account if it's considerable, and even then it's not evidence unless other tests are done.
Really good video . I struggle with folk using the expressions 'True Paranormal' and 'Fake Paranormal'. No scientific evidence has been found of any paranormal activity , if so , scientists would happily investigate it . Best wishes
EMF should be used as a debunking tool, not a confirmation tool. EMF from power lines, etc, can cause you to get creepy feeling something is trying to get you. (Hi from Beardo!)
I'd say what an emf would be good for in a ghost hunt, is to detect high emf's that might be causing people to feel "off", to explain that it isn't ghosts.
Got really into the debunking video's after I got to know side eye guy and beardo. Now you and I guess everyone beardo recommended. My Playlist has changed a lot. Going to binge watch you as well. Really opend my mind. Love that you explain everything so clearly.. Big hugs from the Netherlands ❤
Hans Holzer, what a blast from the past! If I recall correctly, Ghost Hunters didn't use the EMF to detect ghosts but to debunk. I remember them telling people to get their electrical checked out a few times because the EMF was off the charts around outlets or fuse boxes. I think the only time they used it to say there was a haunting was if they couldn't find a source for the high reading and they had other things like EVPs.
13:23 theres always the new and re-newed , re-vamped and re-cycled cat balls on a string like ive seen on some stairs thinking ghosts are gonna trigger them, triggered me i can tell ya.
Great and valid points here Mr Grey, thanks! Baseline readings for EMF are done according to a set time line, daily, and over a period of several days and weeks to get accurate baseline readings. Not during an overnight investigation. I, for one, am not a fan of any of the equipment used. Awesome video Mr Grey!❤
Using an EMF meter to hunt ghosts is like using a metronome to count how often you blink. The metronome works completely independently of whatever is around it, your eyelids won't affect it unless it's literally shoved onto your eyeballs.
Spot on Dan. Emf detectors detect one of the causes, not the symptom. In the same way, infrasound at 18.98Hz can cause people to hallucinate - again, a cause and not symptomatic of genuine paranormal activity.
Beardo says hi, and I've heard him talk about you on his previous videos. But I couldn't find you until he got this video pinned on his live video. Have a good one, and im going to go through your previous videos 😄
High enough EMF can mess with the human brain. It makes you feel uncomfortable, paranoid even. So I always look at it like you aren't actually detecting ghosts with it, you are detecting something that just makes you feel uncomfortable. That was one of the main things we would always try and debunk when I was on an investigation team. Florescent lights, refrigerators, and even sometimes electricals are grounded to plumbing. That means, you could be standing there in your kitchen doing dishes under a florescent light with your back to a fridge and just feel you some one is watching you, paranoia could set in and you could trick yourself into seeing something. That's a real life thing from my investigating days btw. Same case ended up having drafty windows where the lady thought she had a ghost brush past her. humans give off EMF, we have a bio electrical signal in our bodies. That's literally how we move our limbs, breath, see, everything the human body does runs because of electrical current. We could 100% set the K2 off.
In hermeticism, things of spirit, tend to vibrate faster hence are not visible to the naked eye, electricity is also somewhat in visible and vibrates fast Now if the two vibrate at the same rate, than we have something to go by.
I thought it was interesting the other day watching the Fourmen Bros, doing their “house cleansing” and they told their “ client” that they were getting high EMF reading in the back of her house ( bedroom ) than the front. She immediately said “ Does that mean higher spirit activity back there” And, they hedged around it, then eventually ( I think it’s Shawn) mumbles “ it could be… OR! It could be something electrical ” 🤔😂
Interesting. How about thermal cams and thermometers? (maybe detecting humidity changes as well???) Honestly thinking back to my first paranormal experience, It was the middle of the day, other than the curtains torn down on the floor and clothing and toys all over this house and the kids bedroom looking like a disastrous mess I don't remember anything that would indicate a presence other than the footsteps that chased me and the door slamming in my face and another behind my back I think the only thing I found that scared me was sound (and motion of the doors slamming which was enough to chase me away) Even if I had a camera back then the only thing I saw was the door slam in my face which I am sure someone would have said it could have just been the wind and my movement through the house. They might also say that the footsteps I heard were my own echoing through the empty house, so really an audio recorder would have done me no good as well. I think there would be a higher chance of getting an experience with nothing but an audio recorder, but without either you could experience something and maybe just maybe there is a reason why spirits or ghosts or whatever it is doesn't occur when recording devices are used in investigations... just my thoughts what you think?
That's why most do (or should do) a baseline sweep of the area before they investigate, this will give them hot spots of energy to avoid during said investigation, the more baseline readings you have the better it is when it come to determining your data. Of course K2 readings are not evidence of ghost activity but it may lead to some other form of device being used, you should always question every device you have and never take things for granted.
I want to see the schematic for this thing. To a point, how do they know spirits emit this frequency? Most EMF meters are tuned or tunable to certain frequencies so where i this one tuned to and why that freq?? I will bet they do not have these answers.
Question: would an emf meter locked in a faraday cage be a better “controlled” environment (I say that loosely) 🤔 EDIT: also, I’ve always had the idea that if I were to use an emf meter, I’d ask the spirits to light up the lights in a sequence. Like a particular order that I come up with.
I wouldn’t mind people serious about the paranormal coming up with a code of ethics and forming an organization that oversees an accreditation for education. Until they do that, there are no experts. From plumbing to medicine, there needs to be standards that are considered professional to strive for. People calling themselves experts don’t make them so. But I think that would be the logical next step. To be taken seriously by others as “experts in the field”, that’s what it would take. In the meantime we do have groups I respect more than others such as Joe and Dawn and less than a handful who are striving to be as painstakingly meticulous in their methodology as is possible right now.
Dawson Toller may be the man for you 😂 He's always searching for new things to try, he got some something recently - it made sense when he explained it 😊 He won't just take your word for it that something doesn't work, he'll have to find it out for himself, but he's always wanting to find new ways.
Hi Mr Grey. Great video. I really enjoy your content. I wasn't sure of your email address as I wanted to ask you a question. I hope you see this comment and can give us your opinion on Deja Vu and maybe make a video of it. Many people believe it's a past life and you are re-remembering. And the first couple of years you are born you erase most memories. But through life u have episodes of remembering parts of your past life. Hence, Deja Vu. I like this theory and I hope this makes sense and you can give us your opinion.
Thank you for doing this, we need to hear more of this type of debunking. Unfortunately the ones that need to hear it will simply dismiss it as bollocks, call out their knowledge from using the device and not learn a thing. Dunning-Kruger at it's finest.
I have always seen the K2 EMF meters as a low budget, lame bum version of the PKE meter from Ghostbusters, why don't ghost hunters use a PKE meter (I know its not real), or the Sniffer 300 that Peter Venkman used when he first visited Dana Barrett's apartment. Would be much more entertaining.
Used a K2 when we first started off but used it as a baseline meter in our walk around before an investigation - now we have a Trifield meter but like before its just used as a baseline device so we know where to stay away from if we're using anything else and also eliminate the possibility of us being affected into thinking something is paranormal. We're investigating a location this week that has no electricity in or going to it at all so I'm looking forward to seeing what that brings.....also gonna be our first run with an old school cassette recorder running in conjunction with a modern digital recorder.
Stop saying the F in EMF stands for frequency. I'm an electrical engineering professor and I hear my students saying that now. It means Field. When electrical current flows through a wire it creates a magnetic field. Have you ever wrapped a wire around a nail and connected it to the battery. Well magnetic lines of flux surround the nail and when the nail gets in this "Field" it is attracted. This is putting it in very simple terms. Frequency in the electrical voltage pulsating. As voltage goes up from zero up to +220 volts then back down through zero and to -220 volts and back to zero is called 1 hertz frequency. It is how frequently the voltage does that thus it is called frequency. Frequency is measured with a frequency meter. So please stop saying the F in EMF is frequency when it is Field. Thank you!
First off, you're absolutely right, i often say it incorrectly and have tried to stop myself saying frequency lol, apologies. I did the nail and wire experiment in school. Was very cool. Appreciate keeping me corrected:)
Jenny Love uses it at the cemeteries where there are no wires and all that. In her last video, the EMF Meter was going off like crazy at one grave, and no lights or anything around. She experiment with it by going to another grave about 100 feet to 200 feet away, and got nothing, but went back to the grave, it went off like crazy again. They were trying to debunk it as best that they can from the meter being malfunction and all that. Just weird. Ben of 401 Files takes the meter camping for detecting ghosts, aliens and UFOs. He goes far outside of the cities away from electricity, and he got the meter to going off as well. Those 2 do these things differently from others since they do their investigations outside and not indoors away from electricity.
The problem is that you don't even need power of wiring to get an EMF spike. EMF can come from cellphone networks, satellites, airplanes, drones, equipment they on person, metal in the ground, from the atmosphere or even from outer space. There is practically no place on Earth without EMF at certain times, and to get a valid reading of an area, you both need EMF detectors which are much more expensive than the relatively cheap ones we see here, and you need to take many different readings, over months, at different times. Beardo has an interesting video where he says that during a thunderstorm, the amount of EMF created made all rempods of an investigator team go wild.
Mr Grey. I don't own a K2 so I can't check if a theory i have is true, but you have one so i you want to you can have a look. The theory. A K2 is on a table in the dark, a source of light is turned on and the light hits the K2s LEDs, this makes the K2 react. 1. If light falls upon a LED the LED will generate a small amount of electricity. 2. I know No1 is correct with visible light but I'm not sure about UV and IR. So if you want to look into it then it'll be an interesting experiment. Also I'm working on some new devices for paranormal purposes. The devices should be cheap to make, reliable and have a lack of 🐮💩. I'm going to make a few and send them out for testing, if I get the okay I'll look into making some kits. Just solder the parts and stick in a cr3032. The T.A.R.T. is a replacement for a touch and the M.O.I.S.T. is a replacement for the yes / no device. Yes the names are silly but people in the livestreams picked them. 😆
We had a very interesting evening in the middle of a US Civil War battlefield with a natural trifield meter and a medium who said she was crossing over a spirit. However... we've never tried that experiment again so I can't say for certain that a trifield meter will pick up ghosts any better than a K2 meter will. It was long before the days of strong cellular networks and wifi. But it was orders of magnitude higher during the event than it was before/after. I need to get my hands on a trifield now that I can actually afford one and play around a bit.

When we hit 6G we can see all the ghost's walking around..🦖🌭👻 great video Champ 👊 and thnx for clarifying the whole act around the K2 👊
Well said 👋
Would a k2 be effective in detecting wireless surveillence?
Old houses have high EMF because of bad electric work. So it makes sense why someone made the connection
I so agree with you. ❤
The apps, K2, broken radios, etc have never made sense to me. No one can explain HOW??? I agree with you. Time to move on
So my question is if using one of these K2 meters outside with nearest house half a mile away can i believe any spike in the meter?
7:39 Mr rossi was too
I want to see the schematic for this thing. To a point, how do they know spirits emit this frequency? Most EMF meters are tuned or tunable to certain frequencies so where i this one tuned to and why that freq?? I will bet they do not have these answers.
A lot of money to be made from all these ghost busting gadgets. 💷💷💷💷
K2 sounds like a new and improved lubricant 😮😅 Never used a meter bc it DOESN'T FIND GHOSTS 🤘✌️😎🧐
Question: would an emf meter locked in a faraday cage be a better “controlled” environment (I say that loosely) 🤔
EDIT: also, I’ve always had the idea that if I were to use an emf meter, I’d ask the spirits to light up the lights in a sequence. Like a particular order that I come up with.
Nice, Dan. Thanks. xxxx

Love your content Mr Grey Thank you Skibbidy 🙌🙌😂😂🙏🙏💯💯🍀🍀😂😂😂😂
Always thought the "F" stood for Field, not Frequency.
High-frequency fields. Alternatic current electromagnetic fields... guess I can see how the name of the thing can be a bit odd.
Dawson Toller may be the man for you 😂
He's always searching for new things to try, he got some something recently - it made sense when he explained it 😊
He won't just take your word for it that something doesn't work, he'll have to find it out for himself, but he's always wanting to find new ways.
12:31 try using natural intuition and gut feelings ...
deffo agree with you mate
Great video
Sent by Beardo from his live stream
Never believed in this box with L.E.D.s & a battery in it. £15 off amazon. It don't do shit.
Oh my. I had no idea you were a ghost! Let me find a old radio with a dial so i can spin it back and forth and see if you talk to me! 📻
🤘❤️🤘🍻
I think "ghost hunters" use that because it's a fun prop, and waving around Egon's PKE meter would just be too obvious.
For all ghost hunters, all electrical malfunction is paranormal. They love gadgets that don't work right.
Beardo sent me. Just subbed
Appreciated :)
EMF detector companies getting a boost in revenue due to popularity use on TH-cam 🤣
👍👍👍👍👍💯%
Your grass looks like mine
Paranormal investigators.
AKA, lying grifters.
If them who fake right stopped useing them thing`s thay would not know what to do, lol True or. GG my man and true
Este tipo es un escéptico relamido solamente 🤣🤣🤣 y yo pero jurando q sabia del tema y se dedicaba a lo paranormal pero NO.
Great video and informative 👍 check your email 🤓
