- My new bike is the ultimate freeride MTB hybrid! I get a new bike from Ghost and instantly modify it into a 27.5 wheel hardtail bike that works for trials, dirt jumps, MTB trails and anything you can throw at it, would you ride this?
I receive a new bike from Ghost and instantly get it out of the box and have a look at the beauty but unfortunately the back wheel was bent out of the box and once I pumped the tyre up it blew up because of the bend which allowed the tyre to pop off the rim. After about 3 hours of faffing I realised a 27.5 rim would fit so we changed the forks and put some Halo chaos wheels on the bike off of my enduro bike and it worked perfectly, although the forks were a bit high. After sorting the bike I head out and try all sorts of urban MTB freeride lines from trial spots to BMX style street hits and even some dirt jumps and MTB trails but how will this weird hybrid mountain bike perform! Would you ride this Ghost bike?

I like seeing it set up as a hardcore hard tail with 27.5’s and the longer travel fork differentiates it from your regular jump bike more
Keep the 150mm fork and show Blake Samson what a hardcore hardtail is all about. 😉
My hardtail has a 120mm fork and I was thinking of going to a 130mm-140mm fork. I can't imagine 150mm.
Absolutely love the new bike, the Ghost bikes you ride in general look amazing and I'm definitely considering one for my next purchase!

I don't know myself Sam but that looks like a really cool set-up you have on that bike. Can't wait to see the mods you do and how well it rides. As usual your skills were on point, even if you did casually land on your back. You always seem to crash with more style than most.

That reminds me of my hardtail! 27.5, similar travel and an absolute blast. It rips on trails, boosts and tricks jumps well and is awesome for long pedally days. The ultimate second bike for sure!

the timing of that tire exploding was crazy! LOL glad u got it sorted and made this 27.5 shred machine out of it.
I like that Sam overshot the back flip but still only used about 60% of fork travel.

This video was a little different. You wherent that hyped this time and i like it.
This is exactly how my hardtail is set up now; 27.5 front & rear, single speed, no dropper but seat permanently down, 140mm of travel. So much fun, and surprisingly fast.

Am I the only one thinking it's a good idea to have a trail hardtail and dirt jumper mix? Like a big travel fork, big bars short stem, big brakes, single speed and dirt jumper frame. It sounds genius tbh

Convert a dirt jump bike into a trail 26 hardtail with 120 fork and gears, the best fun
