This has to be the only Mercedes-Benz product for which the AMG model outsells the non-AMG-any time I see a G-Class, it’s almost never a G550.
I didn't even think they made the G550 anymore!
I think the g550 looks so much better
I see more G550 than G63🤷🏿♂️
little bit more than half of the G-class is AMG, while in the S-class this number is around 3%.
well, for only 40k more u get the amg, so there's 0 point to get a 550
My brain is telling me this car is stupid, my heart is telling me its badass
This! There's so many reasons to hate it by image and reputation of owners...but damn is it fun lol
And your brain is correct. 👌🏿
@@Brianuwu622My wallet can't afford
Your brain is right. Your heart has ent even driven it yet 😂
Wait till you get the repair bills for it 😮. Your heart will tell you. DIVORCE MODE
Смени мозг.
This video needs a "Headphones Required " sign. What a beautiful noise! I love watching that tach. The fuel gauge, not so much. What a power trip that vehicle is.
I will always love this car. It always delivers a mafia vibe.
Russian mob!
Mafia vibe in a g wagon lol not even close
😅😅😅
not a big Mercedes fan, but if I had to choose a SUV, this is it. I think the car is perfect, outside and inside.
agree
This might be the last MB I still really care about and love. The lineup as changed a lot for this generation and I think the G-class carries the legacy and energy of the past better than the rest
Literally just saw one of these do a small acceleration on the road and the way the front lifts is WILD to see. Also the exterior noise when it idles is oh-so-nice. Its also not that big for a modern SUV which is super nice. If I had f-you money id have one as an offroader without a doubt.
This spec looks very good, actual full black, amazing.
One of the devellopment guys said they had the specific requirement to keep the door sounds and the door lock sounds from the old one. As people just find them so iconic that the "new" version (in 2018) had to have that, despite the materials being partially different.) So there is thought and purpose in these sounds in the new/current one.
edit: and in real life, i never get tired of seeing one of the AMG ones (being tested by the factory) accellerating full on. Them lifting the front looks so great, funny, insane and mighty at the same time.
edit2: 16:58 Yes it will have that feature. (and where i live, it seems the elctric one might be cheaper than the Diesel or gasoline one as it doesn't have the extra fuel consumption tax...)
when you revved it up sounds real nice especially in 3rd gear and 2nd gear
I used to not like G-wagons because of everything they represented. Then I rode shotgun in a G63. And now I’m in love.
I think that the only SUVs on the road today that would attract more attention than this would be something like a Bentayga, Urus, or maybe a Purosangue.
Im not really a car guy but I've been watching your videos to help me be more confident on the road and it's mainly the videos with life lessons, im currently 22 without my license and it feels like im wasting it but one of your videos helped me to try and be more adventurous
I saw one on the freeway the other day that looked just like that! It was awesome! The door close and lock sound is so satisfying!
I've always had this weird affinity for the G-Class, but have never particularly enjoyed driving/riding in them; to me, they felt exactly like their platform and style would suggest. Still, they were extremely durable and novel, so hey, it was hard to argue too much!
Then I drove a 2022 G 63 and my perceptions were immediately changed! The refinement took a definite step forward, the chassis became even more situated and planted - it felt (slightly) less like a big Wrangler, and way more tank-like. The interior upgrades made an absolute world of difference, and the minute bits we'd interact with felt considerably more ergonomic and modern.
Brakes definitely were touchier than I expected, but had a good amount more positive feedback than more typical Bronco and Wrangler counterparts.
The power train is intoxicating. It just has this unbelievably uncanny ability to be the comfortable and durable grocery-getter, and then be the most raucous, rambunctious, ridiculous V8 4X4 monster in the same breath. It's genuinely wild! Even past AMG G-Classes just didn't quite hone that in as well, and more "typical" AMG models like the C 63 or E 53 are almost expected to be that solid all the time, so it's never a surprise!
After my own drives, I love seeing how experienced drivers respond to these things, and it's always great to hear your takes and see where you find each vehicle's niches and unique attributes. Keep it up!
Bronko, wrangler?!
😅😅😅 👎👎
The Gwagens get a lot of hate but the reality is they’re probably one of the best production vehicles on sale. Does the price point suck? For sure.
no other manufacturer makes anything that directly competes with the G wagon so, mercedes can really set whatever price they want for it. Merc customers will always pay the premium, from my experience
This G63 is the ultimate vehicle for the bodyguards of Bond villains and you won't tell me otherwise.
Cool car, reliable performance.
Nothing else on the road says, "Look at me! I'm a rich asshole!" any louder than one of these
It's almost like thats what it was designed for
but they look cool and dont lie if this thing is handed to you for free you would take it
@@Ritter502nope, too big for me.
@@Ritter502i'd nab any free vehicle
@@DarkWiNKenzo well yea its big but what car would you then prefer?
When you said crazy Moab stuff I instantly thought of Whistlindiesel 😅
"let's see how the interior of a brand new mercedes g-wagon stands up to an air hammer"
Me too 😂
The door lock/unlock needs to be an optional Apple text tone. V8 would make for a pretty nice ringtone, too
That V8 sounds EVIL! The theme of the G63 is "Highway to Hell."
Not something i'd expect on this channel! A surprise for sure, but a welcome one.
He does content on these kind of cars decently often
I think this is my 7th G wagen video
this car has more aura than everyone in opium combined
I had no idea the next gen will be electric. Such an odd fate for a gas guzzler like this.
As much as this car doesn't make any sense, I love it each time I see it. I'd love to end up with one in the future if I have the means to just because of its looks and sound, even if the only thing it's gonna be good at will be expensive city crawling.
saying hi from hopedale ✌️, crazy that your near can’t help but recognize the bellingham home depot- keep up the great videos
It really is a great all in one package
There's one in my neighborhood that I see often. It's a guaranteed reaction every time from my wife and I: She mentions that she hates it, while I absolutely disagree because I like them for some bizarre reason lol!
Вашей жене он нравится ещё больше!
Но она знает, что никогда не сможет его иметь, отсюда и ненависть...wumen.
G63🔥🔥🔥🔥
it almost doesnt seem fast because it moves so effortlessly
My lexus requires so much effort to get from 0-60. This moves like an EV lol
I never realized the rear lights are so tiny on these G63.
8:02 whistlindiesel would like to have a word with you lol
It's funny to me, everytime I see one on the road, it's the AMG, but absolutely no one is using the power it has. Kind of disappointing, but I guess do what you want with your own car.
Not the best car out there by any means but still my dream car
It started as military vehicle Daimler and Austrian PUH
welcome back im fartward
and today im farting
If that's a 2021, it's probably already been bought and sold at least 3 or 4 times
One owner. about 3k miles. Going on Bring A Trailer soon
@@TedwardDrives a statistical anomaly!! :)
8:25 That Santafe has blinker signal put too low. What a stupid design
after seeing what whistleindiesel did to his g63 i defenetly will buy one.
It's like you either get the G63 or you don't get a G Wagon
Ted: this is cool, but I’d much rather have your Lexus. It just seems more peaceful and comfortable. The GWagon is great for rappers and Kim K. 😂
If it's a black G Wagon it'll be a rapper or the Russian mob. If it's white it's a Vegas stripper or trophy wife on her way to the Million Air terminal
I have seen so many of them on the road that its getting boring (its rare to see a G500 cuz everyone buys G63). The only G that looks amazing is the Brabus G wagon
Say it’s boring if you own one. They’re not.
imo no other vehicule screams I'm a successful drug dealer as this vehicule does, or a dentist.
dentists dont make that kind of cash to afford a 200 grand SUV lol
@@user-um3fx2vk8r successfull dentists do
Best steering wheel they ever made. The new one is crap to operate
OMG Amazing cute WhistlinDiesel car :3 jaja ❤
Sidepipes and triple lockers makes no sense, they'd be ripped off in no time.
The car is cool and all, but there's one thing that keeps bothering me
A Stop sign on a highways merge...?
They're pretty commonplace here!
Sometimes there are still yield signs and not formal stops, but the runways are so short, steep, and immediate that they nearly always constitute a stop
I dunno if you live nearby to where Tedward drives, or one of the surrounding states/regions, but for folks like Tedward and myself and Mass drivers, on roads where most traffic is hovering between 68-80 MPH, having those immediate exits on the short merge lanes for on-ramps makes a lot of Mass roads a real nightmare to get on/off. We just gotta be cautious and stop in those cases. Rt. 2 is a good example of this - some stretches have short exits, some have long exits, and it's a road that Tedward frequents in his drives, so you might see both on one road! Hell, Rt. 2 is a highway that has intersections and traffic lights on it!
Then you have highways like Rt. 3 with all these looooong, sweeping exits and on-ramps that give enough space for a Toyota Yaris to hit 100 before it even has to merge!
There's no rhyme or reason to it 😂
@@PretentiousBrownie Alright, thanks for explanation. To be clear, I live in Europe and here they teach you to step on gas pedal if thats what it takes to accelerate to traffic speed as fast as possible, so Stop sign was a little unnatural to me.
And now I just realised that my comment might seem a little offensive, so I will make myself clear: I'm not saying "AmErIcAnS aRe BaD, eUrOpE bEtTeR", I think US can't really risk having more detailed (therefore harder) requirement for It's drivers or tighter (therefore more expensive and less common) infrastructure regulations because It's so much more reliant on vechicle transportation compared to places like Europe. I don't like overgeneralisation, because It's not representative of individual.
So yeah, TLDR is "Alright, I didn't think of that like this, BTW no offence".
@@unnamedfornow2381 Oh no, you're good - no offense, no apologies, nothing like that! It's perfectly valid! Most places in the US are similar to what you describe, and most of our driver's manuals/driving instructions will say exactly that; accelerate to the rate of traffic and merge safely, etc.
We just have these obnoxious and glaring issues and terrible inconsistencies with our infrastructure! For such a car-centric society that barely caters to foot travel, bicycles, mass transit, and high occupancy, we're still comedically bad at designing and supporting our roadways
Granted, a lot of the roads people frequent for interstate travel or super high volume traffic will be similar to what you expect, but then we do have these odd two or three roads and highways that just leave you scratching your head as to why planners thought that solution was the best they could do
If you ever do make it stateside, you'll definitely find some funky, weird stuff about our roads!

I have to say that I don’t really get these cars. I love V8’s, I love luxury V8’s and I love proper SUVs, but this this car seems to take the weakest points of all of these and puts them together. It loses its off-road ability to give you the performance running gear and it is too heavy and tall to take advantage of that great drivetrain. As you say, it makes no sense. It seemed to make you giggle so clearly there is some perverse joy that comes from it.
this thing is so stupid, extra, ugly, absurd, and embarrassing. but for some reason i still really want it
These cars don't attract me...180k? You must be joking???
