It's definitely a slime-person, pretty much every body prompt was some form of monster (dragon-person, skeleton, covered in eyes, etc).

Hi. Even though the second character looks more original, as probably no one has drawn it before, I'm fascinated by the doll. The way you drew her gave her something particular, maybe unfathomable;)
for the second one i imagined a water nymph or spirit or maybe a slime, because of the wet body and the hair could be stylized as a waterfall flowing back. super interesting how people can see the the same starting foundations and come up with completely different concepts. that to me is what makes art so fun!
i feel like many people take art challenges too seriously. for sam, he does it because it's the point of the video and he's an amazing artist and he does it for us, but some others want to make an actual oc, and they take it way to seriously. imo, if you don't like something in a challenge, change it. if you're drawing for fun, you should draw what you want. i wouldn't want to draw something i hated. i would understand if people liked the challenge part, but if you made an oc that you reaallly liked, but it was ruined by something in the challenge, i think you should change it. this is completely my opinion though.

First OC:
Name: Agatha
Personality: A stubborn girl, but she is very obedient and very intelligent.
Background: (THIS WILL BE CONFUSING) Her father, a very smart scientist, was obsessed with robots and ghosts/spirits. Agatha died when she was 9, and her father somehow transferred her soul into the robot he made. (Sounds like FNaF 🥶) Growing up, she hasn’t been very social, and has no friends. The 2nd OC is evil 🤩
9 year old (before dying) : Agatha was a very cute girl. She was also very kind, social, and stable. However, she had gotten bullied a lot. She was tired of being bullied, but one day things got to far. Her bullies had pulled out her hair, *more PG13 d3ath stuff*. She passed away. Her father somehow transferred her soul into a robot.
18 (current age) : Agatha had always been an outcast ever since. She lives the rest of her days, in her dad’s basement. However, she finally decided to leave the basement and explore. However, it didn’t go well. She tried talking to people, but they splashed WATER an onto her. (Second OC: idk) Agatha spends the rest of her days, rusting in her dads basement now, her soul still conscious…

I think if these characters have a backstory it would be like this, the doll from steampunk world is in an old building where the world is now living the '80s cyberpunk kinda era. This old building is on fire and the firefighter lady is there to put down the fire and rescue anyone in the building. And when the firefighter goes in to the burning building all ready to rescue she sees the doll from steampunk era sitting and still living in the good old days in her mind. The doll is not aware of surroundings she looks at the firefighter but only sees her later master who is long gone now. So the firefighter is really fascinated and excited from what she sees. I have the story to here but i think rest would be like this, doll is getting rescued and taking care of the firefighter department while still going back and forth between the past and the present. Firefighter lady made a decision to use the doll on missions since looks like she is not affected by the fire.

And btw i see some love or some sorta, you look nothing like my master but i love you, or you are a mechanical doll with no feeling but i am slowly fallin in love with you. And yes i ship them but if you dont agree, i agree to disagree its cool!

Oy, just spreading the good word because sam has invited my brain to ramble about good things.
I have had severe stomach ulcers for nearly ten years now (Doctors couldn't seem to find them for some odd reason?? ) .. and it's been ruining my health and ability to function in normal society to any real capacity.
However, after doing quite a bit of my own research and asking around to some more trustworthy sources, I have seemingly found a solution to my problem.
Cabbage.
I hate vegetables and fruit. I always have, but this has really turned things around for me.
Just eat a bunch of cabbage or blend it into a yummy smoothie with some fruits and honest to god, I've been doing this for a week and I feel like a completely different person. I've even picked up painting again.
Good luck in life! Stay Healthy and remember that sometimes trying new things can make or break you.
I absolutely ADORE how the first one came out. would totally love for you to make her an OC and give her a fullbody reference. She looks like she had a incredible design already and seems like a great character to have a great story
YESSS! THIS IS MY TIME FAVORITE OF WEEK: SAM DOES VIDEO
First character is a robot (obviously) that was made by a scientist that made her for war, she helped during war but one time she failed so she was outcast and broken. Decades later someone (idk U decide) finds her and fixes her and the robot is now alive, btw she has forgotten that she was a weapon for war, I guess , uh so like Sam said she wants to experience the world so she goes outside, but is shunned for being a robot. The person who fixed her respects her and by spending time together the robot regains her memories upon finding out that she was a weapon she runs away not wanting to hurt anyone, but the person who fixed rallied the other ppl and got her to see that she isn't a weapon, even if she is a robot that doesn't mean she can't live like a human. Yh so that's the story I thought of for her
we always talk about the intros but the outros get more ✨disturbing ✨every time

instead of art block i am having writers block, and this has helped me think of some ideas for characters in my story, in return, i feel the need to make a backstory for the 1st oc, because it caught my attention the most:
Dollia - Made in a lab by a mad scientist who wanted to try and perfectly replicate a human, Dollia was just another scrap to the masses. Among the other failed creations, she was thrown into the pit. A dark, seemingly endless hole where the scientist threw his failed creations, upon being thrown into the pit, Dollia had no life, she felt no pain, no suffering, she wasn't alive. That is, until a wandering spirit gave her life, The spirit itself was an unfinished, Hero Spirit. an experiment by the scientist. dreams and aspirations, Dollia, now alive wandered the pit for a long time, searching for an exit before reaching a door to the outside world. once outside, she was treated like an outcast, because of her gray sin and her lifeless eyes, everyone treated her like trash, until, someone named Jack, accepted her, and treated her like a normal person. they went on to live in a small hut in the forest for a few years to come, but not every story has a happy ending, because after a few years, the scientist went into the pit looking for Dollia and realized that she is missing, not only was she missing, the unfinished spirit that he created, now knowing his creation is missing, the scientist put out wanted posters with a hefty reward for finding her and bringing her to him, dead or alive. The nearest village stormed Dollia's house, Killing her Husband and her child right in front of her. They then tried to kill Dollia but they couldn't, the spirit that resided in Dollia awakened and smote all who stood before her. Dollia, now obsessed with science and magic, tries endlessly to find ways to bring back her husband and son. No matter who or what stood in her way.

I thought the prompt meant OC was going to be slimed, but you took it the wet route and I think that turned out well. I dig the contrasting fire/water elements in your second one.
I'd love to see you revisit the first one some day and do a more fine-tuned/ final draft version of the doll.

I agree with your initial take on the Doll. She's not a villain, but she wears that expression because she's come to terms with the fact that although she doesn't get to be a real human, that won't stop her from helping humans however she can. 🙃

The backstory of the first one reminds me of Pinocchio. I feel like she's the kind of character that would go: "if i can't fit in with you guys, I'll make you fit in with me!" and then turns people into humanoids like herself.
I definitely prefer the first character, she strikes me as more intriguing than the second and her design just looks cool tbh, but nobody can say the second one isn't unique at least, even if it is weird 😂 putting the frying pan on her head was a great move 10/10

Hey, Sam! Ive got a suggestion! So as I was watching, i was thinking about different ways to incorporate the color scheme, and thought, instead of making the shirt blue, hair pink, type thinking, u make the lighting blue, or the shadows pink. Ykwim? N then i was thinking for the frying pan girl, instead of making it something she has all the time, how abt making it a part of her setting? Like have her cooking. N since she’s cooking, her goggles could be beside her on the counter. Type ideas. Hopefully u see this

In the second drawing, I think that the body part was more referring to the character being a slime, not that it was wet.

They both give different vibes, like the first one is the intelligent,polite and proffesional villain, and the second one is the energetic, chaotic and dangerous hero.

Sam! Do you think maybe possibly you could do a video on strictly how to shade and color correction? I always love my drawings in their line work and feel like I ruin it when I begin adding colors. I know color theory is a thing but I just don’t quite understand
i think wet skin was supposed to mean that the character is a slime, like c!Slimecicle, but I think some strains of lava 'd suit her well. tbh those eyes + lava strains really did make me wanna draw again.
