Not every girl character has to have a short little fact and a little button nose. I personally thought the face shape on the first fix was fine, and you didn't have to upturn the nose like that. You could have made it look better without changing it from a long, small nose to a button nose
@Kaju Misa He has MAJOR same face syndrome when it comes to women. Don't get me wrong, his art is amazing in the technical aspects, but like... every woman looks the exact same.....
I'm an amateur artist and and Sam's is absolutely awesome, I'm always learning here so it's in no way a dis, but I kinda wish he kept the eye shape of the second and third drawing, he made them much more round than they were originally and I kinda dig the phoenix / leaf eye the og artists went for, or whatever that shape is called. I understand he goes for his own style too, just thought it'd be interesting if he tried to work with the shapes, even the downturned nose could be an interesting feature.

Like I can't say anything about the way he fixes art because I am no artist, but I feel that every time he fixes art he just takes away the style of the artist and just copy-paste one of his characters face on it. Like his art is amazing, and his rendering is top-tier, but he has a same face syndrome problem and also a “let's just make every art my art” problem. Instead of only fixing the issue the person had and keeping their style, he’s just making it their own style. But anyway this isn't trying to hate or be mean. I'm making the same mistake these artists are, so I can't really say s***.
He make them look like his because that’s the style he work with the best, and most of his advices are ones that can work with all art styles Like, I understand there being different art styles and all, mine is different than his after all, but most of his advices are accurate and help you understand the basics, like anatomy, rendering, sizes etc etc The reason he takes the style of the person away is because Sam is working in his style, for better art, because it’s the style he knows best. If he worked in every single art style he sees, the drawing will end up looking wonky and weird because it takes week to change your art style Beside, I don’t think the artists he correct mind, because they specifically used his hashtag to ask for help in their art, at least that’s my opinion on the matter or something
i understand what you say but.. Yeah, I agree. I'm watching the first one and when he changed the nose, he completely re-shaped it to the point that it didn't seem like the same person anymore. Then he started adding too many details and smudged the mouth and I went "but that's not who they drew!" Imo, he should've left the drawings with as minimal changes as possible, because that's what's truly helpful to other artists. If what he does is change the drawing until it looks like his own, it's no longer helpful, because it focuses on his style only.

idk why but everytime i watch ur vids i feel so motivated to draw
'Dropped as a baby? Normal'
-Sam Does Arts 2022
I like this kind of videos where u fixing people arts. Its very interesting, and inspiring
0:09 I started drawing as a kid with the face, cause it always mattered the most to me and I have literally never envisioned this while drawing lips but now I NEED to xD
I wanna get into portrait painting (probably digitally), and in every few months I get a video in my feed from this channel reminding me to get to work:D But I actually learn a lot from these, as I'm mostly drawing/painting characters.
Sam: The lips need to be juicy ✨
Kooleen: 👁👄👁
Kooleen: challenge accepted 🗿💅
You didnt have to copy me- koolen
After watching so many of Sam’s videos I have noticed an improvement in my digital art! I never use to like digital art because I thought it was a little challenging, but after watching many of sam’s videos I’ve started listening to his advice taking my digital art to the next level! All I wish to say to Sam is, thank you for your advice it has really helped me grow as a digital and traditional artist!
the thing in these type of videos that I kinda dislike is how he just completely changes the features and style of the artwork to fit his completely, yes ik it's his personal preference but it kinda takes away the thing that made the og art unique like the 3rd one. like don't get me wrong, his style is really pretty but if you want actual advice and how to improve your art without completely changing it to look like another artist's art style you can look up Naoki Illust Channel (his videos are extremely helpful)
but that2 the poiint,
Bro the smallest changes to such a long way 😳 I’ve learned so frikin much omg
Thank you Sam!!
I swear Kooleen vs Sam is my favourite thing ever
That exhale when swapping to the original drawing at 12:07 is just brutal.
i love how he just turned all of the drawings into his own artstyle and calls it “fixed” 😭
edit: i’m not hating on him. I just find it funny that he does that! his artstyle is beautiful btw.
There is no need to hate on me. I’m just sharing my thoughts and didn’t mean to say anything mean about Sam. I’m a huge fan of him and love his art. Also i didn’t say anything mean about him ! Next time think before commenting.
Haha I thought the same thing! Like the last one looked fine lol
Yeah, I agree. I'm watching the first one and when he changed the nose, he completely re-shaped it to the point that it didn't seem like the same person anymore. Then he started adding too many details and smudged the mouth and I went "but that's not who they drew!"
Imo, he should've left the drawings with as minimal changes as possible, because that's what's truly helpful to other artists. If what he does is change the drawing until it looks like his own, it's no longer helpful, because it focuses on his style only.
Right it was indeed fixing until he got carried away and drew an entire new face in his style
@@mackiexoxo8193 exactly! he's kinda acting like his artstyle is the “only right way” to draw a good face. Which is not true because people can draw faces in lots of different artstyles, and it doesn’t necessarily have to make it bad
@@ruveydadx I think sam understands that. More people have to understand that you don't have to follow every advice you hear and do the exact same thing he does.
Everything he said about the proportions, lighting, persoective and structure should be very helpful to beginners. The fact that he painted over with his style shouldn't take away from that.
It always amazes me how the smallest changes make such a big difference!
8:17 editor is such a CHAD
The editor - th-cam.com/users/shorts8ZNGltHA-fE?feature=share don’t mind the beginning
I love how Sam said, ( 3:38 )"I'm just going to run from my responsibility" and then a few minutes into the video ( 5:39 ) "what do we do here? we don't run from our responsibilities".
sam: we don't run from our responsibilbities
also sam: covers entire hand in hair
I really love the second drawing! The lighting is beautiful & I love the way you paint noses with that triangular edge & the shadow oof GORGEOUS! 😍
The editor is roasting Sam at this point 💀
Honestly, these videos have helped me so much with understanding perspective, and the proper way to shade/highlight. So thank you so much Sam! I really appreciate it 🤗
(4:10) "Let's give her some color in the face, so she doesn't look like a *Kooleen* drawing"
I love these videos about "fixing" (I know there're ppl who get offended by that term but I couldn't care less lol).
I feel like you can learn so much more if you actually fix our art rather than just verbally "roasting".
I actually prefer the originals, as they were more... well original. The way he altered them made them look boring.
If he fixed your art in the video just say that loser 😂😂
@@38ddpeople ask to fix the art, and he just made it his own
Dog, he’s applying established art techniques to the arts, of course it’s gonna be in his style, he’s the one applying them, but the main point still stands, it’s art fundamentals goober
Just say u can't accept the fact that he draws way better than u lmaoooo
@@rrroxlana people can have opinions bro, the og drawings looks way more interesting and unique, his drawings are the same, i see so many of the same style, ofc his rendering is amazing
I really like these Sam fixes your art videos. It’s easy to learn a lot from them.
Sam is gradually being taken over by the spirit of Kooleen, and the rate of which it is happening is possibly concerning
My favorite was the second one and last one. More vibing with those contrasts 🥰
This type of fixing art is actually acceptable because people are sending him their art to fix. They actually gave consent to have their art fixed.
I love these videos a lot! Actually shows the problems and he can show the dramatic before and after. waaay better than just plain roasting
Sam is EMBODYING Kooleen from the vocab to the videos
learn something new everyday from sam.. also love the editing lately lol kudos
sam: here we dont run away from our responsibilities
also sam: *covers up hand in drawing with hair*
The tipp with the eyelashes on the 3rd fix (them wrapping down/around), might just have solved all my problems with drawing the second eye in perspective, thank you!!
Sam is slowly turning into a clone of Kooleen
While simultaneously roasting her. It's amazing honestly lol
Istg you're one of the funniest ppl alive and you make my day so much better when I watch your videos and you're also teaching me a lot of stuffs in every video. Thank you so much :)
Bro the shots at Kooleen tho 😭
I am guilty of the chicken scratching lines... I will start to clean that up from now on... Thank you for your wisdom, master.
just hear me out but i want sam to call me a freak and insult my art because I would still thank him. ily sam xxx
🤨
you are down bad
Down horrendously
@@iknowwhatyouare102 but its fine because i prefaced it with "just hear me out" xx
You are down, not even down bad, just down
I love both Sam Does Arts and Koolen. They both are so amazing🥰
"PICASSO ------> NORMAL" 😂😂
GOT ME DAMN IT 💀
Time :-2:05
I like this "roast" way more, because i see a painting and i'm like "something is weird" and in this video, instead of really roasting, you explained what was actually wrong with the paintings and shown how to fix it. Way more interesting to me.
Sam is slowly becoming more and more like kooleen
You cant hide it sam,you cant
Doing my part to make sure TH-cam pushes the video up and more Art babies can be helped. Hope you get to 1 mill soon.
7:30 ☠️☠️☠️ that was personal
I am loving all of your videos! So much talent, love how you demonstrate simple changes. So funny too!
how to draw the same girl 3 times
