Passed my HGV class one 4 days after my 21st birthday, I’m 52 now. I’ve driven all over the world for many years. The CPC corses I’ve done are the same old 💩 I did the first time round. Complete waste of time & money.
Currently got my theory (which includes a CPC module I suppose) on Monday and then my practical lessons and tests sometime in mid-December or January I suppose, I assume this won't affect me right?
😂as a cpc instructor, my own cpc expired recently which meant I was unable to drive a truck. Last month i sat for two days listening to a fellow instructor. He gave me the same information that i gave him the previous week. The same videos and the same written and verbal material. This cost both of us two days of lost income and meant two people were unable to fill the seats. A complete waste of time.
@alanharwood5966 I've sat 15 courses apart from a few rules and regs that have changed I didn't get anything out of course, cost me money and time what a waste, first aid is the same, loading is the same, the law is the same WHATS THE POINT from a 33 Yr Trucker 😡
Hello mate, quick question and hopefully you will see this in time. I recently passed my class 2 in an automatic. But I passed my cat B in a manual. By law am I allowed to drive a 7.5t manual?
@@Outdoor_Swagger doesn't matter. I asked the same thing when I passed coz I knew I would be doing some 7.5t work in manual before going on to the 18tonners
CPC load of rubbish. Money scam, I drove in Canada and them drivers are very experienced and knowledgeable of the transport industry and no bullshit courses.
Not enough has been done to reform the CPC. It's totally ridiculous to still have to do 35 hours of training. You don't learn anything new (unless you are doing something like ADR for the first time) and - even at 3 1/2 hours - it's still 10 sessions. This was a missed opportunity to bring about a positive change. It's basically a load of box ticking rubbish.
CPC is a waste of time money making scheme ! That’s why shortage of hgv drivers all the old boys don’t need to be schooled when many done 30tears plus on the roads !! Taxi drivers should be governed more there driving awful Uber drivers especially
Should me made to do 70 hours .Far too many drivers now and standards are crap furthermore it's all about suppressing the wages..Why not just give everyone a class one 1 when you pass your car test.absolute tossers
Sorry I could do 100 hours on CPC and would make no difference in a person driving. They should make road test harder and refresher every 10 years. CPC is a waste of time
Its a joke i passed my hgv earlier in the year and to get my cpc was multiple choices test 1.5h ish and a 1h walk round. But after i have done 5 years of driving i have to do 35hrs 🤷♂️
That's the initial CPC, the idea is you have just learnt everything and pass your theory test etc. the next 35 hours is refreshers so you lr always up to date.
it is done during work time. As it is training it is part of your working week so would be recorded as other work on the tachograph when you do the manual entry.
I think a professional hgv driver should not have Todo a CPC it’s nowt but money making robbing us drivers out of money How can you forget things when you have been driving years I think it’s a complete waste of time First past drivers should do it But I think most of hgv drivers think it’s a WASTE of time
So many driver get basic things wrong from drive times for example that's why the DVLA will allow you to sit the driving hours CPC twice in the 5 years, they won't let you do that with any other. That's because of the amount of infringements they see when doing checks. So either the drivers forgot the rules or just ignoring them...
I started liking your videos. I am an aspirant to drive HGV vehicles in UK
Best of luck
My Theory test is in 5 hours! I hope I pass today first try so that I get the standard international one...!

@@unimagxne So you'll get you initial CPC which will stay the same as before, it's what you choose to do to get your next CPC that is going to change.
Great explanation Ashley

@alanharwood5966 why's it a waste of time for everyone, do you not think that some of the courses could be beneficial?

@@Outdoor_Swagger yeah, passing in auto truck gives you both. Not like for cars.

@@AshleyHaleUK how many gears did the manual have. Just found out I'm driving and auto tomorrow, so all good there 🤣
@Outdoor_Swagger most 7.5t have a 'van' gearbox so they 5-6 depending on the age.

Cant get HGV drivers to do 35 hours willingly.
Can't give car drivers class 1, they can barely manage their little cars.

@ianlowe3207 not a bad idea doing a refresher, should car drivers have to do it too?

Do 1 a year from now its less painful
Hate it learn nothing might not do anymore so I'm finished in 5 years told my trainer
What would you do instead? Why wait 5 years before you stop?
Why do we have to do this in our own time , when any other industry would be paid over time, yet again we’re treated like something you stud in 😢
