That makes alot of sense that I need to kind of learn guitar all over again standing up I’m pretty comfortable sitting down already, but standing up playing all my songs will probbly take some more work What I’ve figured out is that while I’m practicing: if I have the energy, I’ll practice standing until I run out of energy, then I practice sitting the rest of the time

Thanks,, as you can see in my photo I am a dog house bass player, Have always played the guitar but not in 7 or 8 years consistently and when I did I would sit down. I am in a Johnny CASH Tribute band (Counterfeit CASH) got lot of you tubes out there even a few at Sun Studio in Memphis. Well the singer and I decided that is is much easier finding a bassist that it is to find someone that can do the Luther Perkins stuff. (most try and play blues or fancy country licks over the solos. Thats not Luther. So I learned about 50 or so of the songs we do.. Sitting down.. Boy did that mess me up.. Thanks for the tip of putting the strap up higher... Works great.. I have a show in 2 weeks...
to be honest though id like to see u play it even just a little lower... the advice ur giving is great but its obviously only for the length that u r playing... and i dont see that many play it that high..i really want one video that shows how we can at least play at waist level .. but thanku for advice the double practice was helpful

If you practice guitar in the classical position while sitting you will be able to play standing up with minor correction needed ..... try it and see

Start practicing more. But don't overdo it. Because you'll hurt your hands. Increase practice slowly
