In the past, I would get so mad and exasperated when I'd see things like what you and your Dad saw in your new barn build: broken PVC stubs, uneven screw lines, scuffed walls and door frames, you name it. About 30 years ago I befriended a man and his son who have a farrow to feeder hog farm and row crops. I started buying farm ground in 2004 that they now farm. I learned a very important lesson while working with them over these two decades. They never get overly upset over the million big and little things that go wrong in their busy farming program. They just figure out the most efficient solution to get past it and back to the days job at hand. It amazed me to witness this cool demeanor by them thousands of times over the years. I've become a less stressed person, and have learned to not see these as impediments to getting things done, just things to figure out and fix. Thanks Ramon and Lewis! I give thanks to all American farmers.
Always Thankful for the incredible entertainment you and your family bring to me. Far better than anything on television. Most people don’t take pride in their work anymore but it’s obvious that your family does. Stay warm.
Thanks for the wishes Chet. For the gutters and drainage call Shawn from gate City draining and foundation. Put many downspouts to PVC. You did what Zach did with the dirt for the mouse and drainage.
As a 35 year veteran carpenter, worked for Morton you have a nice building. Sorry for the mishaps the corner busted of would make me mad but the drain line can be fixed pretty easy. Nice building enjoy your new life. Merry Christmas to and yours
28 years ago Outside of Omaha Nebraska I was doing what you were doing On my Morton building Right before and after thanksgiving dinner. It wasn't as cold as up there But still hard to get things done I also am very thankful Family and friends and especially your family and videos Be safe I enjoy everyone .
I know what you’re talking about Chet on windshields. Twenty three years ago, I was 45, never had broken windshield. Wife and I were planing our trip to Alaska, and driving, from Michigan. We were going to drive all the way to the top of Alaska, Prudhoe Bay, and take the haul road. We read, heard, and were warned about windshield damage on the Haul Road. Three days before we left, a four inch rock goes through our truck windshield, and try to get fixed in three days. Drove 10,600 miles in 28 days, all the way to Prudhoe Bay, Yukon, Washington State and across to home, no problems. Get home and next day a two inch rock goes through windshield, almost unbelievable!
We paint and built your service doors here in Bloomer WI. I seen them get shipped out a few weeks ago, I will have to keep an eye out in the future to see how the paint holds up.
Just get in touch with the lead contractor and tell him your men broke this that and the other, get it fixed properly asap. Otherwise they will continue to the next place and do the same thing. Good to see a young person doing a bit of manual work on the end of a shovel 😁💪
Hi Guys. I watch you from Abbotsford BC Canada. I really appreciate the wholesome commentary. (No vulgaritys). Can I suggest you investigate Higher Power Hydraulic Doors, Benton Harbour, Mich. for your present project. You will never go back to the regular O/H doors again. One thing that picks me is ITS CONCRETE, not cement. Merry Christmas. Keep up the good work.
As an electrician I've had a few stub snapped of in cement floors. the fix isn't bad really. demo hammer just enough around the pipe to put on a coupling and new pipe. Takes about 30 min. on average.
Chet, AZ. has the highest windshield replacement of all the states. In 5 years owning a Jeep Wrangler, I was on my 7th windshield ! All from small stones being thrown up on the roads from other cars, trucks and trailers.
If you want to stop damage, you'd probably need to be there supervising them every day. I sure hope you point out the damages, and they fix or they reduce the price.
Wow, when we’re working anywhere near new construction we’re super careful. My boss would fire all of us if we broke brand new concrete and a drain pvc all in one job. That’s completely unacceptable. Accidents happen, but my god.
Your building will turn out great. It's frustrating when things get damaged but I guess it's a part of life. Happy late Thanksgiving. I know I have a lot to be thankful for.
Hey Chet, whoever does your garage doors (if they came with Morton, it'll be Overhead Door), tell them you want your doors roof pitched. Yeah, you're not gaining a massive amount like you do with the big shop doors, but it does make a difference. You could also run lights under the upper tracks, then your doors aren't blocking the lights. Never seen a black sided pole building, but I love the look! Happy holidays!
As someone who had a business in construction…framers are usually tweakers, and the drywall and painters are even more tweakers! I had a Sheetrock guy who was high drive his truck into the electrical ditch. Drove through the cones and into my ditch.
Where the concrete is broken, cut it at a 45 degree angle to clean the edge, then copy that at the opposite corner to match. Your porch will then be in a trapezoid shape and it will look like you meant to do it that way. And, as far as the plumbing goes, the plumber will be able to fix that, no problem. Things like that happen all the time in construction. No biggie.
Looking awesome! My wife and I built. a house last year, it sounds like we are going to have the same design garage doors albeit mine are a bit smaller only 12 x 9.
I had a brand new F-150 work truck assigned to me. I only made it about 15 miles before I got a rock chip in the windshield, The sad thing the rock came from my co-workers truck that took me to get the new truck.
We always say if we can’t screw it up ourselves, we pay somebody else to do it for us. Certainly that little girl will make you thankful many times over the years. My wife and l have four of them!
Chet: We are nearing retirement & thinking abt how & wht to build in WY. We are seriously close to going with SIP panels and skillion roof. All due to the issues u & Dougo discussed in this video. Rainwater, situational house location, where is the sun in Jan vs July etc., SIP panel bldgs typically have not or very few penetrations from inside to outside & no thermal bridging, very important in these northern climes.
Chet, start your house, sooner rather than later. Life has a tendency to fly right by and pretty soon you will find yourself old and grumpy like Dougo, still working on stuff you should have done when you were young. 🤭
about your broken drain pipe. I used to use a female fitting and set it 1/4" below the grade of finished concrete. Put duct tape over it. Screed and trowel over the tape. When ready to continue the plumbing, knock out the 1/4" concrete and glue into the female and continue upwards with the drain. Easier to screed and finish and nothing sticking up to break off.
Get all your drainage done first and get it out of the way such as rain, gutters the tile, and then finish everything else. This way you know it’s draining instead of finishing and then digging that’s what I would do.
Happy Thanksgiving to all at Larson Farms & thanks for the videos & sharing what you do. Lastly, thanks to Chet & his good lady, wishing you good health & looking forward to a safe birth as little lady Larson begins her life.😊
Thinking that black tin on the inside of the shop is going to make it pretty dark when working on stuff. Maybe enough good lights will make it okay.. till you are older and need a flash light to see a wrench size.. ha
Our neighbor built a special building for the leftover building tin and other supplies and when he didn't have the building supplies anymore it's where he parked his boat for the winter.

Concrete cutter. Square it out, New pipe. I get as pissed but can fix it in no time, so life goes on, hopefully it's young people learning by making mistakes not incompetent druggies..
Chet what's that call again that u guys have on your large diggers. I remember u talking about the valve on the cylinders but can't remember what video that was.
give Mayfield truss at willow Lake Sd the opportunity to build your roof trusses for your future house if you're going to build one but we have to go through your local lumber yard
I’m the guy who actually takes the time to flag and ribbon stuff on site so it doesn’t get broke, only to then have other guys say it’s not needed because they would never break anything… So then they pull them off, only to later break stuff.

Thankful for the Larson family. You guys are awesome. And loved the pictures Amy took where you all were pointing at Jean's belly. ❤❤❤
We are very thankful for you, Jean Marie, upcoming baby girl, and your entire family and farm team... enjoy and Merry to all 🎉

Hey we usually spray antifreeze in buckets so the stuff wont get stuck. I really enjoy your show, best regards from Sweden.
Good thing about winter and porta- potties is they dont really smell. Just dont be the 1st to get the frost off the seat😂.
We always install couplings at grade, pour over top and always have the option to repair down the road.
keep up the good work Chet & crew . Im shure this new building will be very handy in the future.
Hey Chet this is one of your best videos. Really enjoy what happening around the farm. Merry Christmas to you and your family 🌲🎅🚜
Hi good afternoon Larson farms from Indiana

Nice building, I like the cupola's!
enjoyed thks for taking the time
I understand why Amy couldn’t resist Dougo! That grind it in dance move is awesome!

It's gonna look nice, says Chet ......I'm thinking 😮
Belated Hapy Thanksgiving to you all. Love the education and allowing us to see the growth of your life and business.
Make sure you have a huge holdback on this project
Safe lite will come to the farm and change that windshield. 🤘🏼🇺🇸
And charge you a fortune to do it. There are much less expensive options at many local auto glass shops.
Not bad in my area @@mxslick50
Insurance and safe lite repair
I would of gone with white inside the building... so it's brighter when u have lights on inside
Merry Christmas
Happy Thanksgiving Day now it Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years2025

Epoxy would be a better option, it matches close on color and would break beside it if it breaks again
Well?? Yes! going smoothly.
Been a nice 12 degrees centigrade this weekend (14th dec) in the uk
Looking awesome! My wife and I built. a house last year, it sounds like we are going to have the same design garage doors albeit mine are a bit smaller only 12 x 9.

Chet take that tin and put it in the Old Barn that’s still Standing where you Farmed over the Roadway where the Wind Took out a Barn!
I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well
The help you get these days. My brother has the same problem in New Mexico.
We always say if we can’t screw it up ourselves, we pay somebody else to do it for us. Certainly that little girl will make you thankful many times over the years. My wife and l have four of them!
On new building, put in French drains for little porch. Downspouts to big hole in the ground, filled w/ stone. Easy !

Building looks good Chet.
Chet, start your house, sooner rather than later. Life has a tendency to fly right by and pretty soon you will find yourself old and grumpy like Dougo, still working on stuff you should have done when you were young. 🤭
Dougo's comment about the porch as a disappointment rather than aesthetics had me laughing out loud 🙂
Looking good

Chet, you'll have a little room to put your excess metal sheets on, and keep them safe
Merry Christmas Larson’s!
The pipe is an easy fix. OCD is manageable if you don’t let it take over
Cut the other corner to match 😊.

I'll be interested to see how you'll light the inside with the black ceiling. That's going to absorb a lot of light.
Just an idea. How about making a loft on top of the mechanical room to store your building leftovers and other things.
Happy Thanksgiving to all at Larson Farms & thanks for the videos & sharing what you do. Lastly, thanks to Chet & his good lady, wishing you good health & looking forward to a safe birth as little lady Larson begins her life.😊
Happy Thanksgiving to all
Welcome to winter bud
Nice job today Chet!
Please tell me that junky board at 5:55 is gonna get replaced! Looks like a peiced together 2x12 with a split halfway down it.
Thankyou Larson Team for making great wholesome content
Nice ride along

its going to be a great shop. Im thinking duck blind down in those trees lol
Awesome video as always
I think it’s about time that Dougo gets an Engcon tiltrotator for christmas present
Our neighbor built a special building for the leftover building tin and other supplies and when he didn't have the building supplies anymore it's where he parked his boat for the winter.
You guys call a tile line.. I call it a French drain 😊

Just some advise lol cole the corn star club learned the hard way to never bad mouth the waitress until the food is on the table....lol
Bury a "I" beam vertical and use that to clean out buckets on equipment.
