DropForgedSurvival, is that pocketboy the 130mm, or 170mm? I have the Maxpedition Skinny which is the same height as the fatty and wanted to throw in the pocketboy as well. I was hoping the 170mm would fit, but I'm not sure. In your opinion, do you think it would? I love this set up you have. Quality gear!
OMG! I'm so jealous of your EDC kits! They're so small and condensed down to the smallest versions of the most needed items! Brilliant Chris!!!? Thanks for sharing this with us, you definitely gave me a few good ideas that I can use!
DropForgedSurvival Bro, it's like you have your finger right on the pulse of what the prepper community NEEDS to know. Family first! Consider price and quality followed by size and weight for practical application. Weigh your options to make the best choices for your preps because everyone's needs are different. Keep up the great work! This is why you're my favorite prepper channel.
Great kit. The only thing I would add is some 2” Gorilla Tape. The Altoids tin is the perfect size to wrap with some tape. I use these vertical style tins in most of my kits and they’re all wrapped with Gorilla Tape. Thanks for sharing.
I would add 2 things; off the top of my head, which would be the credit card sized magnifying lense and some of your waxed cotton rounds. 2 more would be the all weather pen and paper.
Thank you very helpful and thought provoking I especially appreciate how show an use what is in your bag then list all the contents so I don't have to furiously write while I listen and watch.
Very impressive. One of the most complete, and smallest kits I have seen. I might add some aspirin, Benadryl, and Immodium tabs to the first aid kit. Also throw in some cash in small bills for a city environment. Great Job! Thanks for sharing.
GREAT KIT!!!!!! as for changing; UST tube tent, leatherman ps4, firebox nano titanium, small visegrip tool, small fixed blade (no folder), smaller flashlight, 3/4 size bearbowl (when it comes out) LOL, better compass, powerbank and small solar panel, titan 550 cord, small dry bag.
Great video! What should I do, if i am thirteen, and I do not have responsibility to what I do, but I want to make a bug out bag? I hope you understand, what I want to say, because I am from the middle of Europe amd I just started learning english.
Hey man sorry to sound pathetic but I'm a city boy trying to learn more. Is there any way you can make a video on how to tie Paracord to stuff like how you did in this video. Please and thank you
I love that kit you all have and the items you have int it is about what I have for my backpack, alone with my sleeping system, and food. My saw is longer since I may have to cut up larger wood for a fire and for the shelter.
Love the kit! Only thing I would swap out are the AA batteries to lithium batteries. Only because lithium doesn’t leak. Regular batteries can leak overtime and extreme weather, right through plastic bags if you don’t catch them in time. Lithium pricey but you’ll protect your gear in the bag long term.
I always have coffee filters in ALL my kits AND Mosquito repellant, but I must say, the stove is BRILLIANT! You are the only one on TH-cam that included a stove. That is genius, thank you. Btw I think the maxpedition BEEFY would prob hold your bear bowl. The Beefy is a great size.
I've been waiting on your update to this pack. I studied your previous EDC and created a "love child" of a pack that you would be proud of lol great job as always and how can I get in on the next give away
Great kit, love the chest rig setup; it's amazing! I would really recommend having Neosporin or similar available. Based on my experience, having the ability to prevent infection is a BIG DEAL and I like to have at least a small tube available at all times. If you want, you could try to use a small pack of raw Honey to double the antiseptic and emergency food/sugar options.
Good Video!! You need a Lot More medical supplies!! Neosporin, bandaids, Ace bandages, Quik Clot, tourniquet. Toilet paper. Mosquito repellent. Head mosquito net for summer activities. Some tea candles. Bandanna. Mylar blanket...
A trauma kit is a good kit but separate. We keep a trauma kit at home, in our Bugout Bags, and Vehicle. A serious Med kit won’t fit in this pouch... even by itself.
A touraquit deff seems like a good idea. Barely takes up space, is light, could be strapped on the bag and it wouldn't even be noticed. I mean I carry one on my person at work (maintenence) because the shop kit doesn't have one somehow (osha minimum stansards don't require one for some reason) but it just straps to my upper boot and I don't even notice it. Anyway, old adage "nothing beats good training" when it comes to a survival situation.
I have the same maxpedition bag mine has my cpx-2 9mm with an extra mag my okc rat 2 flint and steel my havalon multi tool my zippo and my outdoors edge edc which is my replaceable blade knife which is amazing considering I have 3 extra blades with me also have my crkt spork. Those are the main things in the bag for me.
Great kit! But you wanted suggestions so here goes. I have seen more knives ruined by those carbide V sharpeners than almost any other sharpening method. They peel off way too much steel. They might be OK on a cheap blade but I won’t let them near anything of value. Personally, I never carried any form of sharpener when out and about. If really needed what is a sharping stone but a stone. I’ve always been able to find a stone with a close enough texture for any serious need. Unless you really abuse a blade all you need to do is dress the edge to keep it in top shape. It accomplishes this all that is really required is a hone or as it is more commonly called a steel. I constantly carry an older style Leatherman Wave. Amazingly enough when opened into the plier configuration that rounded handle edge that is comfortable looks and in reality, works as a very adequate steel. Also, most Leatherman’s have the diamond sided file for heavier work. What I would like for a sharpening system made by some one that is something like the two-sided DMT product that operates like a butterfly knife. I would think a coarse side and a fine one with a couple of modification. The plastic binder between the sharpeners may need to be made thicker to accommodate the next part. 2 and quite possibly 3 channels would be put into this. The ends of which would be threaded. These channels would then hold a like number of tapered rods. That could then be twisted out and reversed and threaded back in pointing outwards. The first would be a steel. If it were a DMT product they would probably diamond coat it. I would say in extra fine or even an extra-extra fine coating. The second would be a course or fine rod. For a third a ceramic rod. But because ceramic is so fragile more likely a ceramic coated steel rod. These being tapered could then deal with serrated blades as well as straight edges. Conversely the edges of the regular sharpener could be rounded over to serve in similar capacity. The military speed hook is a gimmick. It is not really made for a cast line fishing but for a set pole or overhanging branch much like the yoyo reel. An unattended fish catcher. I can accomplish the same thing with a spring pole and an L7 trigger. Speaking of which you need more food acquisition equipment. Especially fishing line and a lot more hooks. Yeah, yeah, I know you can last 3 weeks without food. But there is a caveat to that time. First you mustn’t be doing anything that burns calories. Also, plenty of water. Drinking water keeps the stomach full so that is not asking if your throat’s been cut. Keeping warm burns calories as does any physical exertion. Anyone interested on a couple of articles and why it is important on this subject contact me at raspy3@verizon.net I’d be happy to E-mail them. The pencil sharpener is a great inclusion. I’ll go you one better. They make sharpeners for those wide carpenter pencils. It will accept a stick almost twice the diameter of a pencil. Also, nice to make a very sharp point for field expedient arrows. When making a spear you can do less carving the taper yet really tip it. I am not associated with this company in any way but they have a unique product that I find very interesting. We all agree light can be a very needed thing. Batteries have a limited life. Most of the time the full power of a flashlight isn’t truly required yet minimal light is welcome at night. Once your eyes are dark adapted it is surprising how little light is needed to see. The company is UV Packlite. Their product line is rechargeable glow in the dark products. They make sticks of similar size to the chemical glow sticks that are one shot deals and are reusable. They are also brighter. Additionally, they sell the base chemical in power, pebble and nugget form to create your own glowing items. Now modifying the product might degrade the output, increase charging time or reduce glow time from the sites specs. Their glow tubes are probably better than a DIY attempt. One or two clipped to the outside of the pack or sheath would charge during the day and then glow most of the night. I think you could rig something to hold the bottom so it wouldn’t flop around. An idea that most people wouldn’t think of is to lash it to the end of a stick for night travel. This then could be swept ahead of you illuminating you path. That way you can spot trip hazards, holes to fall into or critters mainly snakes you don’t want to step on. Thus, alerting you might need to break out the flashlight. Being rechargeable if the light starts to fade a couple of minutes with said flashlight will bring it back up to usefulness. Think how much that would extend the battery life for more critical lighting. The powder could be mixed with a clear coat so that you can paint things. Think a couple of bands around your flashlight making it easy to find in the dark. Paint thumbtacks or push pins much like the old cat’s eye reflectors and they glow on their own. Trail marker to and from water sources and latrines. Also, as a path for rescuers to follow if you are moving or even to post notes for them. It would be a real attention grabber in the dark. The larger chunks could be mixed with clear polyester or epoxy resin in any shape or size. There is a fellow TH-camr at Dialed in DIY that mixes a similar product with clear silicon calk he made stars to decorate his kid’s room and squishy cubes as markers. Another option is to use small Ziploc style baggies. They come in sizes small enough to hold a single stamp for collecting up to ones that could be used as a body bag. Often referred to as small parts bags. Also great for waterproofing other kit gear. Some powder or pieces in one make fireflies or you could even use custom sized vacuum seal bags. Even if you wouldn’t want them on the outside of the kit they could easily be pulled and set in the sun for a few minutes before sunset to charge. I have rambled about as long as I should and probable much too long. I hope this gives you some Ideas.
cool kit Chris I'm trying to get a maxpedition bud can't afford it I was wondering if space pen is good for and edc I had one before and lost it but don't know if I should get another once again great vid and have a great day edit I Also just got the esee izula can u tell if its a good knife
Awesome kit man. But i would keep it all in one slightly larger bag so you have to carry only one bag instead of managing multiple items. Plus, i would keep 2 tea bags and some tic-tacs so I've got some calories in case i dont find any kind of animals to eat. And a survival guide is also essentiall. I'll swap out the multiple items like fishing kits and keep this stuff in here. And a better first aid kit is all I need. By the way, it's a good kit.
Kevlar fishing line. Skip the snare wire. They are good for only one catch, and the chances of a couple snares producing is very low. In 5 years of the TV series 'Alone', not one snare has produced food. Deadfalls, fishing, even a bow this year have all produced food, but never a snare. That says something.
Hey there funny man!!! Tryin' to distract us with the little hottie running in the woods....yeah...I counted 185 pieces!!!! Liar liar!!!! Lmao nice freakin kit! Cheers.
*OPINION TIME! : What would you Add to this Kit, Swap Out, and Take out All Together!*
DropForgedSurvival do your kids bug out bags plz

Bro, it's like you have your finger right on the pulse of what the prepper community NEEDS to know.
Family first!
Consider price and quality followed by size and weight for practical application. Weigh your options to make the best choices for your preps because everyone's needs are different.
Keep up the great work!
This is why you're my favorite prepper channel.
My goodness I'm legit jealous!! I love this kit.
Great kit. The only thing I would add is some 2” Gorilla Tape. The Altoids tin is the perfect size to wrap with some tape. I use these vertical style tins in most of my kits and they’re all wrapped with Gorilla Tape. Thanks for sharing.

2 more would be the all weather pen and paper.
Donovin those are good choices to add .
Thank you very helpful and thought provoking I especially appreciate how show an use what is in your bag then list all the contents so I don't have to furiously write while I listen and watch.
You guys ever thought of putting together and selling EDC kits?
John Gergen I do sell my DFS Micro+ Survival kit.... but i need a wholesaler account to make it worth “my and your time” don’t want people to overpay
Very impressive. One of the most complete, and smallest kits I have seen. I might add some aspirin, Benadryl, and Immodium tabs to the first aid kit. Also throw in some cash in small bills for a city environment. Great Job! Thanks for sharing.
You should do a review of the Esee 5

As always, great video. Great survival kit.
Andre Lozier right on
I like that pouch size. Mine are just a little too small or way to big.
Chris Sheridan this is a problem we faced for a while until we found this one!
What? not just a knife and 186 band-aids? Great kit. Thank you for the video, Chris and the DropForged Survival crew.

Hey Chris, as always - nice job. Basically an update of the kit you made about a year ago, right? Be nice to link/cross-reference to originals.
Awesome kit as always! Those kits keep me thinking of how I can improve my own EDC kit.
Always Evolve, Learn, and Grow! Thanks bud.
hey i rember you made a video like this a about 7 months ago and thats when i started my survival pack
Love the kit! Only thing I would swap out are the AA batteries to lithium batteries. Only because lithium doesn’t leak. Awesome kit. ! I’ll take two lol. I need to come up with a kit like that. My get home bag that I carry every day is getting awful heavy
I've been waiting on your update to this pack. I studied your previous EDC and created a "love child" of a pack that you would be proud of lol great job as always and how can I get in on the next give away

Great kit, love the chest rig setup; it's amazing! I would really recommend having Neosporin or similar available. Head mosquito net for summer activities.
Some tea candles.
Bandanna.
Mylar blanket...

Awesome kit, nice and compact.
Right on Right On!
i may use this build but may adjust it as im from the uk so different conditions from Texas
Great kit!
But you wanted suggestions so here goes.

Well....... That was certainly a mouth full... maybe consider a channel of your own? lol
cool kit Chris I'm trying to get a maxpedition bud can't afford it I was wondering if space pen is good for and edc I had one before and lost it but don't know if I should get another once again great vid and have a great day
edit I Also just got the esee izula can u tell if its a good knife
Awesome kit man. But i would keep it all in one slightly larger bag so you have to carry only one bag instead of managing multiple items. Right on! Thanks for the observation.
Great kit brother! Thanks for sharing!
Damn! That's a big kit. I'll remember to use your links to help ya out
Helps everyone! Glad you enjoyed the video
Nice job Chris!
Nice video. That knife is a beast! Did you have any other thoughts on the pouch? Did you consider bigger?
As in?
DropForgedSurvival new maxpedition Beefy is bigger than the Fatty, or the max chunky
Awesome kit. I'd like to see another/better compass. Great kit though, impressed
Super!
Great work putting this video and list together 👍👍
Thanks alot Richared
Damn that a cool EDC Pocket Organizer Survival Kit,
THANKS John!
Who makes that chest rig for your knife? I like it.
Mark Hallowell Sr The Maker Knows... Kcknives.
You always give me great ideas
Great videos! Havent seen the give aways videos since the apartment flashlight throw from balcony?
Love your videos my favorite channel
Great kit chris. Only thing I’d add would be some type of charger for your phone. Other than that huge thumbs up 👍
love it!
Pretty good maybe some snare wire
snare wire would be good to have some. If nothing more than just having wire.
Not a bad idea at all for consideration.
Cheers.
That's a lot of stuff in a small package. I might put an energy bar or two in it just to fill the stomach.
Awesome
cool kit
How do you fold down the meatloaf pan to fit your pouch?
Like origami
Nice setup!
How much would you charge me to make me a kit like that.
Do you want to make a 96 hour survival Bag ?
I mean a 2018 version
Maybe in the near future?
I would combine it with the ;pathfinder water bottle kit, otherwise i think this kit pretty much takes care of everything!
Nice kit!
Awsome Kit
What was the concealment patch? You kind of sped through the name and I'd love to grab a couple of those.
What was the size of the Bear Bowl you used? What were the dimensions?
They have a baby bear now.. Might work for a similar design.
Does anyone have a link to the clips needed to attach the pack to a belt? Ty.
Should be in the video description. If not search “Blade Tech Clips” on amazon
Your wife's chennel is awsome keep up the great videos
