I think a lot of people are skipping the first 35 seconds of the video! Here's a part of the transcript from it...
*"Let me clear one thing, this is not the list of what I consider to be 50 greatest films of all time. There are many films here that nobody would count among the greatest films ever. However, those films are personally important to me. They have inspired me to pursue filmmaking. And they keep me going every time I think about quitting."*
Great transitions between movies man. Made any short films yet?
Yes I agree with u man & keep doing the good work .we r with u 👍
Thanks alot for the video. You are awesomely inspiring.
Would you mind sharing a list of your 50 greatest movies in Facebook or Twitter or Medium, whenever convenient.
Can you make a video on Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice ?
I love your work man. It's super inspiring. Pls keep it up!
*Thank you everyone for your support so far. And for those who are here for the first time, welcome!*
Awesome list, will try to check out the ones I haven't watched.
A bit disappointed to see no indian film make the list. If u can't come to terms with Bollywood content try old time Bengali, Malayalam films etc. Regional cinema is still indian cinema u know.
did you forgot about shashawk redemption Schindler's list and the dark Knight
What do you do except for review??
I knew you would place Godfather as no 1
I was hoping The Godfather to be #1
So thanks :)
A humble request.. The Schindler's List or The Pianist ?
Yes Yes we know you love Martin Scorsese ;)
I can easily dedicate the rest of content of this channel talking about his films and still won't run out of ideas for new videos. But then people will accuse me of being 'angrezo ka gulam' 😅
@@CinemaBeyondEntertainment yep many people are are already doing that. Which funny becuase you have introduced me to many great indian movies from recent years. The fact is that many indians don't understand the fact that a film is a film it doesn't matter who made it, who acted in it and from which country it is as long as it accomplishes to be a great film. It also explains why you have only 50K subscribers.
Ikr.
Aviator and raging bull in top 10 where as no shawshank and any of christopher Nolans film in the Top 50
@@CinemaBeyondEntertainment do a video on martin Scorsese
Who doesn't like Scorsese ? For me , goodfellas is the best mafia movie ever made ( yeah , even better than godfather ).
Dude, it's just 50k not because you are bad, it's because people are unable to understand your work. I believe you have a great future ahead.
p p that's not true, language doesn't matter when it comes to a good taste in movies I'd watch a foreign movie with subtitles over American movie if the storyline of that movie is great & appreciatable.
But don't be a leftist.
@@sahilverma6160 bhai tune comment bhi angreji me likha hain and there can be many different reasons why he is working in english the first would definitely be that film analysis sound better in english, maybe he is not very good at hindi , maybe he wants his videos to be for a golbal audience since all the films in this video were also english, and every english speaker is not a gulaam most people learn and speak english in India for their job only because nobody wants hindi speaker in organised sector and most of the greatest films, tv series, standup comedy, books, even youtube videos are made in english by foreigners so don't tell people this crap. its good that indians know english because otherwise we would only get mostly shitty bollywood films.
@@amritashv.6021 ... what you actually meant?! 😀
Are you using 'leftist' as a bad name calling?!
Slim Shady film analysis sound better in english??Lol anyway language barrier is indeed one of the main reasons this channel is not reaching wide range of audience most indian people understand english moderately language is one of the main reason for success of bhuvan bam ,carry minati, ashish chanchlani etc. Other reasons maybe the bias of indians as we can see those shitty foreign reaction channels get more than a million views and they are in english too .
3:48 that was a GREAT cut
3 movies by Charlie Kaufman
3 movies by Andrei Tarkovsky
3 movies by Ingmar Bergman
So many by Martin Scorsese.
You, sir, have a good taste.
3 from Linklater
There's only two from Tarkovsky
Funny how I have seen countless, countless movies in my life but I haven't seen more than 10 of these :P

These are all classics
The pianist should be on the list also
Korean oldboy or american oldboy..??
And many more...

Prisoner of azkaban is the best Harry potter film ever
kageyama tobio my personal favourite one is deadly hallows 2.
Its not the best among them but it is close to my heart as it was last of it.
Mine too
Alfonso cuaron cinematography is awesome
It was the only movie faithful to the book and also the first time the franchise wasn't treated like a "kids movie"

@Michael Murphy I believe it's only your Perspective on films...
I for one, loved Reservoir Dogs, it falls into my top 3 Tarantino Picks. I have been a fan of Movies with shorter lengths, faster pace and Changing timelines...
Very few filmmakers can make such a grip with their craft on their First work such as this one. It's probably the only film with lesser "Tarantino bullshit"( meaning in a good way), you can't pick nuances that He usually puts into his films to mark his territory on them...
His signature on that particular film is very diminished, which I love.
Have you changed your list ?
because I saw drunk punch love and it's not better than the other films in the list.
In fact I would say I didn't really enjoy the film too much
@@ordjk4797 Im sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy Punch-Drunk Love. I have changed around my list but I would still put it higher than most of these movies personally. It currently ranks as my #6
@@fllicksick really ?
Have you checked out stalker , 8 1/2 , Manhattan , 12 angry men
These are pretty good imo
@@ordjk4797 Not a fan of Manhattan, but I love 12 Angry Men and Stalker. And 8 1/2 is currently my second favorite movie (behind Chungking Express)
I loved this. The way each scene from a film in the list complemented the next scene from another film. Each pan of the camera, and each tilt of an artist's head is accounted for and matched perfectly.
I was smiling when the last 5 were mentioned and when it flashed "Godfather" in the end, my teeth were poured out of joy.
I cried from within when A Headbanger's Journey came on the screen. Hello, brother. Great list, btw :)
Vineet, I would personally request you, and probably on the behalf of everyone who follows you here and on the Facebook, that please don't get disheartened or let skepticism creep in your heart, just because of the slow progress your channel is making. I normally never do this and in my almost 10 years on TH-cam this would be my 3rd comment only - just to show you that, I care.
Your research and your perspective on movies is very scholarly and a lot of cinephiles like me(yes, I know you don't use that word so casually, but I don't have any other word to express my passion for movies) eagerly wait for you to come out with a new video. Yes, I know it has been 3 years and you have reached 50K subscribers only whereas several channels who are merely 'reacting' on trailers have crossed many thousands. But Vineet, understand this - you are serving a niche audience here. They don't come to your channel for 'easy to consume' popcorn entertainment. They are here to learn. You don't have 50k subscribers, you have 50k learners and enthusiasts. Please don't degrade yourself to a 'TH-camr' - you are building a followership here. John Stuart Mill once said - It's better to have Socrates unsatisfied, than a pig satisfied. It's idealistic, but he was right when he said that all pleasures are not the same.
I know again, that you put a lot of effort in making these videos, and it's easy for me to say this. I know this is not your fulltime job and you have to devote time to other things, and possibly steal time from your remunerative job to make these videos here.
But if the subscribers matter to you that much, I would suggest you should think about marketing yourself more. Share your videos to Reddit, Facebook, etc. more and repost them regularly. Spam the internet with your stuff. People haven't come flocking to you, not because your stuff isn't interesting neither because there are not enough people with that niche a taste. It's possibly because they aren't aware yet, and word-of-mouth, which I am presuming is the predominant reason behind your existing following, has its limits.
So, please don't get disheartened and keep making video. Decrease the frquency, but keep making them. I promise you - it's a WIN-WIN. :)
Yeah. You're the only Indian channel I know that provides Quality Content.
Wow. Great comment Sir!
some great artists only achieve fame and recognition posthumously(edgar alan poe, HP Lovecraft, Bach, kafka, van Gogh etc.) so just create content and leave a legacy behind.

When I first came across this channel and watched the videos, I was so happy because I always thought there should be an Indian channel dissecting good films like the " Every frame a painting", "Lessons from the screenplay", etc. Honestly brother, I just hope you grow more and more. I really like you critical reviews about each and every aspect of moving making. I like it so much that I have watched all your videos in a week. I have never seen anybody talking like this with such a great analyzing capabilities in india about movies. Please post more videos as I see there is only very few newer videos in ur channel. I generally don't write comments but to encourage u and ur work, I am writing this much for the first time.
Charlie Kaufman, Bergman, Tarkovsky, Scorsese, PTA, Kubrick. However I'm quite surprised to not see any movies by Farhadi, Kiarostami, Lynch....
This list is missing some Lynch
Kurosawa and Miyazaki too.
I second that..... was expecting a lynch movie atleast.
He already told that this is not the greatest movie list but his favorite u shit
yup,close up 1990 is missing.
Looks like you're going to have another milestone soon! Think it's time for a top 100!!!
Surprised to see Aviator so high on the list. I've only seen it once, wasn't too impressed. That was years ago. I may have to rewatch it and see what I missed. Nice list, great channel.
Now this is what compares to the mastery and dynamics that went behind Every Frame a Painting. Great list, btw. You have made us Indians proud!

Didn't expect anyone to put Damned united ever as their fav,It's really underrated.
The music just sucked me into this video !
Very pleasantly surprised to see Waltz with Bashir here. I am just watching this very unique movie and completely blown away by how amazing the animation and immersive the storytelling is. Watching the movie I felt like I was with these characters in the war in Lebanon. You've got a new subscriber to contribute to the growth rate.
Awesome list, will try to check out the ones I haven't watched.
A bit disappointed to see no indian film make the list. If u can't come to terms with Bollywood content try old time Bengali, Malayalam films etc. Regional cinema is still indian cinema u know.
subscriber count is not really a reflection of how good or bad a channel is (on youtube)
you're doing quality work and sometimes it takes longer for people to understand it
especially when they're being bombarded with content which is easy to digest and low in quality (low hanging fruit to suna hi hoga)
keep up with the good work Vinit

Your channel is truly beyond entertainment. It explores cinema as a tool of artistic expressions. Unfortunately most of the population doesn't understand the deeper meaning. Don't let this discourage you. I have found many great movies through your channel. Some of my favorites are on your lists too. That's why I feel connected to the channel. Keep in mind that this channel is an expression of you. Keep up the work. For some of us.
It took me 45 minutes to read all of your replies. Taught me less about your insights, more on insecurities of Indians 😂 I wish I could meet you
Thank you so much, Sir, I've been waiting for this for so long :)
Million tak jana hey bhai❤🤘
Dude please please keep going your content is top notch
Congratulations. And THANK YOU.
Congratulations on this achievement. Keep growing and inspiring people like me. Thank you.
i thought there would be "Shawshank Redemption"
Always appreciated your videos. Was waiting for this one. Please do post frequently.
My Top 10:
*1. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World*
The most rewatchable film I've ever seen. Sometimes I put it on just to rewatch a 5 minute scene, and next thing you know I'm watching the credits roll in front of me. I love the music, the comic-book transitions and editing, the amount of effort that went into staying as close to the source material as possible, the casting, the dialogue, the quotable lines, everything. Thank you Edgar Wright.
*2. La La Land*
Similarly rewatchable and remarkable. I love the performances and chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. It has, in my opinion, topped *Singing in the Rain* to become my favorite musical. There is not one musical scene that I don't find myself rewatching on TH-cam.
*3. Whiplash*
The only reason I don't rewatch this one too often is because my body imply wouldn't be able to handle it. J.K. Simmons had one of the best performances I've ever seen in a movie, with lines that made you simultaneously laugh while being shook to your core. Miles Teller went from someone in the abominable Fan4astic to an actor I respect.
*4. The Truman Show*
It was a boring day when I put this on. My family were all out, and I was looking for something to watch. Not even knowing the plot, I just decided to watch it. Boy, am I glad I did. There's something about this movie that I just don't get out of any other movie I've ever seen. I just can't put it into words. Everytime I rewatch it I pick up a new detail I never noticed before. It also probably has the best ending to a movie I've ever seen.
*5. The Wolf of Wall Street*
The movie that sold me over on Leonardo DiCaprio. This movie is just pure fun. Great performances all around. I found myself laughing my ass off to many of the scenes. And I'm sure you'll be happy because it's a Scorcese film.
*6. Arrival*
Probably the film that blew my mind the most. Great performance by Amy Adams. The score is also exceptional. Everything about this movie is perfect. It is a unique take on an alien invasion that has you guessing the entire time.
*7. Toy Story*
This movie defined my childhood, and for that reason, it holds a very special place in my heart. I love this movie so much, and I love how it still holds up to this day. I rewatched it a couple of months ago, and noticed so many more adult jokes I didn't comprehend as a child. The voice acting is phenomenal, it was a pioneer in 3D animation, and I've failed to find any faults in the movie.
*8. The Guardians of the Galaxy*
Now, when I originally went to see this movie with my family, I didn't have high expectations. I had watched the trailers, and I just thought it looked like a jumbled mess of a movie that would fail. Then I witnessed Chris Pratt dancing to *Go And Get Your Love*, and I was hooked instantly. What makes it even better is it's my mom's favorite movie as well, so I love sitting down and watching it with her. The soundtrack is great, the jokes are great, the cast and their chemistry is great, I could go on an on.
*9. Punch-Drunk Love*
I love Adam Sandler. I love his goofy movies with fart jokes and the like. And just when I thought I couldn't love him more, I saw this movie. It has Sandler in a more serious and dramatic role, and he proves that when given the right material, he can act his ass off. The score is what makes this movie for me, perfectly portraying what Barry is feeling at the more stressful scenes in the movie. The symbolism in this movie is also worth a look into. Philip Seymour Hoffman has like 5 minutes of screen time and uses it to have easily one of the best scenes I've ever watched. At it's core, it's a love story thats actually seemingly one you could see happening in real life, and it makes it that much more special.
*10. Finding Nemo*
Another movie that defined my childhood. This movie is simply stunning. It makes me feel a way that I can't explain. Some of the ocean shots are just so beautiful and calming, that as a child it's akin to being on a drug. The story is encapsulating, with a suckerpunch to the heart at the beginning, and fun ride of emotions all the way through to the end. I love Pixar so much.
*Honorable Mentions:*
• Casino Royale
• The Incredibles
• Ratatouille
• Wall-E
• Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
• Inception
• Mad Max: Fury Road
• Avengers: Infinity War
• Monsters, Inc.
• The LEGO Movie
• Ferris Bueller's Day Off
• This Is The End
• Rocketman
• Kingsman: The Secret Service
Two of my favourite tarkovsky films are enough to tell that you have great taste, thanks
That's quite a self centric approach to gauge someone's taste in cinema.
Not a single Indian film?!
it is which define cinemea which add a new aroma of the cinematic thing a new life to this film worldd with diffrent shot define diffrent filling one angle define happiness and so other a harsh sad reality all define something so thats why no indian film they always have same angle same shot same cinemetoraphy no change just zoom in zoom out
probably a slow story and non special story without being engaging not so special film it is just a basic melodramatic love story eith dull music which make film indie but not great new cinema is to be creative not to stole like from korean belgium cinematic shots if there is something new he cover oh oh oh varun dhawan was included in this dont wanna talk a great actor but not a legend so not october was included in this type of potryl and he has its own point of view you like october but probabaly peple dont like it
now he cover film like gang of wasseypur he is filmography student he go in depth and want something new so it dont have and propotianality to this that he speak english
@@dumbaloo408 As he said, these are NOT ground breaking, age defining movies per say, these are his FAVOURITES, So, these movies dont represent greatest 50. And NO INDIAN MOVIE IS HIS FAVOURITE. That is telling! I mean not even a single movie qualifies for being his favourite. And that ia concerning. E This indicatess some hidden bias for Hollywood movies.. I guess.
