Your videos have been very informative! Thanks, I love typewriters and am slowly learning how to fix them. I try to get the tools and sprays that I see you use. Thanks again from Canada.
Hi, I have a question about a smith corona executive correct typewriter I recently purchased. I couldn’t find any information about the problem I have with it. The A key won’t work, all the other ones do but that one in particular won’t work.
Not sure which version mainframe that model is, does it trigger, link off , cam stuck, spring off ?? Best to post picture here on FB group for service, we can answer better there, facebook.com/groups/typewritermaintenance/?ref=bookmarks
@@phoenixtypewriter2136 I just read the description of the cleaner in the link you provided and it says it contains a mineral oil. I was under the impression you shouldn't use oil in the segment because it will collect dust and eventually bind up and need cleaning. Is there something different about this product? Thanks!
@@bg9419 Yes, generally type segment will work fine dry, this cleaner has just a trace of oil (5% or less), after blowing off the excess there is really nothing left but the thinnest coating. I have found this to be perfect for simple metal protection and shine and I use it all over as a finishing treatment, key factor is blowing off ALL excess, from every angle.

Love the video Mr. Duane! I love your music taste also! I can always hear some of my favorite songs playing in the background of your videos!
Really informative. Thanks.
Wait.... you actually got CLEAN rags? Ha ha ... just kidding. Always good to see a segment cleaning. Very soothing.
I do have good rag management,
All rags start pure white, with about 5 different stages of usage before they are finally too dirty to use.
Good video, great music!

Very nice video, thank you! What do you use to apply the thinner? I haven't found something yet that works so well as this thing in your video.
Are you talking about the bottle ?
