Other notes:
Well this was totally a last second decision by Tom, Bruin, and I. We wanted to film something over winter break. I had jokingly brought up Monroe County, but everyone liked the idea so we decided to make the long drive up to Monroe County. We were planning on doing a different 3000 in Erie, but upon arival, we found an ex-University of Toledo Modulator in its place. We quickly scurried to this one as we really wanted to hear a 3000 and this was the only one we'd be able to make it to. Right at 10 the siren started to rotate and do it's voice announcements. I was hoping this would be a dual toned one, however to my dismay it's not. It sounds like the UV controls are starting to show their age as you can hear them popping all through the test. Overall not terrible for my first 3000, however it was underwhelmingly quiet. The voice however was very loud. Enjoy the beginning of a ledgendary end to 2022!

Oh cool a 3000 that does Voice!
*THIS IS A TEST OF THE MONRO-*
oh
ok
Bro has the squad laughing🥱
This is example of siren community hate. All he did was comment.
Does anybody notice this pops every 2 seconds often?
I love the PA voice message, I just wish they were still analog.
So dang clear of the PA system
Thats a Lotta popping. Monroe needs to replace this system soon.
Yeah a lot of these older Whelens are starting to show their age.
nice. gotta make my way up to monroe co one of these days
Most of the Whelens have broken drivers, no rotation, or completely dead. That system is screwed
@@bruh3120 They push out those damn tests without actually going around checking if they actually work properly
Nice video as always bro 💪. I definetely need to head out here when I get the chance
I'd come out more often if it wasn't a 10AM test and over 2 hours away.

@@OhioOutdoorWarningSirens Yeh I would go out that way more often too! If life did not say, HEY, no time-no time!
That things on its last legs
Is it skipping because it needs new Drivers? Sorry, I’m still learning more about Siren Drivers.
Where is it?????
I think that I can play music on that siren 😅
cursed whelen siren test in monroe county michigan
Very cool!
Does Whelen make these sirens anymore?
They don’t.
They discontinued them a long time ago
Wow! A higher pitched Whelen! Not that sick dying mooing cow 460 Hz garbage tone!
It has a Federal Signal UV control which is why it's higher pitched. Same controls that the DSAs and Modulators use.
@@sirensofneohio3979 much better than 460Hz
@@fireman746 The thing about running Whelens on FS controllers is that the newer ones' drivers aren't really built to handle these high pitched frequencies as they retired analog controllers a while ago, and the lower pitched frequencies like 435 and 465 are actually able to penetrate the walls of houses better, which is good in some scenarios.
