- If you’re a big fan of FIFA, then this may not be very good news for you. Your favorite game as you know it will not be continued any longer. FIFA and EA Sports have decided to go their separate ways. Why is that? Why will FIFA 23 be the last FIFA video game you will ever see?
Well, we have already answered that question. The two long-term collaborators have split, but they decided to give the fans one last game before the partnership is dissolved. Now, we’re wondering if Fast & Furious’ See You Again will be one of the soundtracks of FIFA 23.
Anyway, so what next after FIFA 23? Does that mean that we will no longer be able to play football video games? Well, no.
EA Sports are apparently dedicated to their fans so they quickly announced that they will continue making football video games, just under a new name and umbrella, EA Sports FC. Might not be the best name in the book, but that’s hardly what fans are concerned about. The question on the lips of gamers is this:
Now that EA Sports is doing the video game without FIFA, will we still be able to play with real clubs and real players or is it back to Piemonte Calcio?

fifa has all the licenses. They are fifa. They own all clubs.
Piemonte Calcio was there even with the Fifa license as Fifa doesn't own the licenses to any of the clubs names. The licenses with the clubs and the players are all signed individually.

EA sports Anand that Ultimate Team Circus are not anything I look forward to.As a sports game historian I do not appreciate inauthentic game modes. I want a proper footballing game with the same dynamics that we are accustomed to as real football fans from pitch to management and logistics. Look at Forza and Flight simulator for example, we are talking about developers who understand how badly certain non fantasy gamers want an immersive realistic experience without the arcade like game modes exaggerated wish washy content. We want the ability to digitally control what we actually follow in real life!! Ultimate team has been nothing but a manifestation of a culture that seeks to exploit the fan. Unlike this fortnite generation, I do not want to see Indiana Jones in a Southampton Kit or Maradona playing in a team with Harry Maguire, no sir. What I want to experience is 100% authenticity!!!!
Thats fine and all to be more of a simhead instead of a UT player but theres nothing wrong with having one or 2 arcade style gamemodes, as long as their fun and polished. 100% simulation all the time with no other alternatives would get stale at a point and a healthy balance of both styles for both playerbases is best.
There is always the career mode. I have been playing Fifa for years (but not buying a new one each year but rather every other year) and have always just played career mode.

I wouldn’t switch to PES, personally. The last time those games were any good, was when they were on the PS2. But I do, FULLY agree with your statement about the soundtracks.. And even FIFA 22’s soundtrack has been underwhelming and disappointing. They used to have a really solid soundtrack list. In FIFA 22, there’s like 3 or 4 songs that are actually worth listening to. The rest, you might as well disable.
pes is even worst, I just downloaded efootball 2023 and boy its a half finish product. they didn't even finish the game, u cant edit player and club or start career mode until they release more patch later and u have to pay for access. fuck this shit

If I had known fifa wasn’t gonna make like a career mode then there is no point because TH-camrs and streamers only post career mode and ultimate team so for fifa there is no point ea fc will takeover
I’ve paid £70 for the past 6 yrs now in new fifa games. The only major update was from ps4 to ps5. All they do is player update which i can do manually.
Only shit thing is, you can do club transfers (outside of the main modes; career mode. etc.) but still lack the functionality of loans. Why?! EA’s updates for the game, over the last year or so have been an absolute mess and just not good.
I think the new fifa will have more creative game modes, along with existing game modes. It's going to be fun, but that's the challenge with partnering with Fifa. There was less creativity, since devs had to focus on the FiFa brand and licensing agreements.
I'm excited can't wait!

It'll make the licensing a tiny bit trickier, but don't expect a bunch of generic clubs. EA apparently has separate agreements with most of the national and continental leagues, so the only definite go-away/generic, is going to be the World Cup.
FIFA apparently wanted a licensing fee in nine figures. And after the 2015 corruption case, and all the insanity surrounding Russia '18 and Qatar '22, I don't blame EA in the slightest for walking away. FIFA needs EA, much more than the other way around.

In this case, EA won't be sending hundreds of millions (US) to what's arguably a corrupt sporting cartel, just to keep the same name on the front of the box.
If FIFA gets the message, makes observable strides in cleaning up its act, and drops the licensing fee down the road, then everyone ends up better off. The sport would be the better for it, because keeping order in a wildly popular worldwide sport, needs a top-notch organization, which everyone can trust. I don't think FIFA is at that point yet, and maybe getting wildernessed by EA could be the wake-up call it finally answers.
And what's good for the sport, would ultimately be good for players, fans, and gamers alike.
So, if watching the bottom line is what gets EA to blunder onto the side of the angels, hey, whatever works.

I side with FIFA, on this subject.
EA/EA Sports have been winging it, for years. And this “separation” should’ve come far sooner. EA have put out nearly the same game EVERY year and have never dealt with issues or improvements/changes that were needed, from the previous year’s game.
Plus, they continue to push the most over-hyped, over-rated and over-played (and over-paid) mode in the franchise, EVER! You all know what I’m talking about; FUT. EA prioritise that over anything else and as long as they do, then FIFA will always be a failure. Maybe not from a financial perspective, but from a sports sim and overall game perspective. Like Star Wars, EA have shown that they simply don’t respect the fans/player-base, the community and the franchise as a whole. So I’m not sorry for EA at all. I am happy that the FIFA brand is out of EA’s hands, though.
Plus, they REALLY need to come up with a better name than EA SPORTS FC. That is incredibly… lame and shows a lack of thought. The same amount of effort they put into their FIFA games every year. 🎤 ⬇️

It's the game itself that needs fixing. We haven't seen an original or good fifa for several years now. New game modes have proven largely boring and the game itself plays worse and worse with each title. We need new ideas for it. Mine would be adrenaline / temper mode: you have a temper bar, and if it fills up, you get brawls, fights, punch ups etc. Real life footy :D

Agree totally with the headers and crosses point. The ONLY way you can win a header in the opposite teams box is if you head it backwards away from their goal. And crosses are just a total waste of time, CBs block them 100% of the time.

They should improve the commentary during a game, give us some history of the team chosen & going against with. They keep mentioning the same. Much more improvement can be done.
The current commentary team is trash! They mis-pronounce player names, half-ass their broadcast information on the match and are just a forgettable commentary team, overall. I can’t even remember their names that well. Derek Rae and some other dude.. That’s how forgettable they are.
