Lionel Messi is obviously the greatest player in the history of Barcelona football club. He's irreplaceable all day. His ability to score and assist goals on a regular basis was second to none but also his magnificent dribbling and close control was something else. Lionel Messi was doing all of this at the highest level for so many years while also making a big impact on the team and he helped them win so many La Ligas and during his time there they won 4 champions league titles and if not for the Liverpool collapse in 2019 he would have 5 UCL titles. In the last 18 months we've seen the emergence of Pedri and Gavi, but you can argue that they're still missing him because in the 2 seasons after Messi left, they've spent 2 seasons in Europa League. Barcelona are a very good football club, but in the champions league alone in their history they won it 5 times, in the Lionel Messi era they had 4 UCL titles. It was a great club, in reality Barcelona were only champions league contenders because of Lionel Messi the years before his departure they were a dysfunctional club particularly in Europe and every time they played a world class team they sucked we saw the crumble to Liverpool and that big Bayern Munich loss. Lionel Messi's impact at Barcelona individually and mostly collectively was day and night and no one will ever come close to that.
We all know what's happened to him at Real Madrid, but Eden Hazard during his time at Chelsea was out of this world goals, assists, brilliant dribbling. Eden Hazard carried Chelsea at times. Ever since Chelsea sold him for 150 million to Real Madrid, I don't think they've properly replaced Eden Hazard. They've signed the likes of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, and most recently Mykhalio Mudryk but most of them have failed to either make an impact and one is an unproven player. Eden Hazard made that left wing position his at Chelsea but since he left, no one has really replaced him.
Leicester City winning the premier league title was just a fairy tale and we know the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy were very productive in the attack during the 2015/16 season and that season we saw the rise of N'Golo Kante. He was playing on a club in the second division before Leicester and from that N'Golo Kante played a massive role in helping them win the premier league. He was a tireless worker, interceptions, tackles, and recoveries he was special for them. N'Golo Kante's performances at Leicester City also helped him earn a move to Chelsea the following season where the rest is history for club and country. It's crazy that the season after he left Leicester City were in midtable and almost got relegated and while there some people can admit that the departure of N'Golo Kante weakened the team a little and when you lose a key player to another club, yes it affects the team but that fairytale 2015/16 Leicester had was a fairy tale story and that was once in a lifetime.
Luis Suarez's time at Liverpool seriously needs to be talked about more. He had controversial moments but you cannot deny the impact he made at Liverpool. He was a goal machine and despite missing 6 games due to a suspension in 2014, Luis Suarez scored 31 premier league goals and was the main reason why Liverpool were actually challenging for the premier league title and they almost won the league. He left after that season and initially Liverpool struggled to cope with his departure. In 2016 and 2017, Liverpool brought in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both of them had big impacts on Liverpool's success under Jurgen Klopp but you can still make that argument that no Liverpool striker will ever come close to having the exploits Luis Suarez had for the club. Roberto Firmino is different and he was critical to the success Liverpool had and of course he's not an out and out scorer but that wasn't his role in the team he was there to be a link up player and at times score some big goals too. I'm not sure if we can say Luis Suarez was irreplaceable because it took time for Liverpool to click under Klopp and Mohamed Salah Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in his absence formed the best attack in Europe and Liverpool took time to get over Luis Suarez's departure.
Neymar is another player who Barcelona have failed to replace and he only spent 4 seasons there yet scored 105 goals for the club. His change in pace, technical ability, skills and goals we saw the full package of Neymar. His performances helped Barcelona win a couple of trophies. 2 La Ligas and 1 champions league title in 2015. Neymar's departure in 2017 hit Barcelona very hard. What they did to replace him was spend 400 million on the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, and Antoine Griezmann and neither lived up to their hefty transfer fee. Ousmane Dembele is still there and while he's trying to kickstart his career at Barcelona, he hasn't lived up to expectations since injuries have stopped him from realizing his potential. Philippe Coutinho was another player Barcelona couldn't get the best out of because he's not a winger, he was more of a number 10 the issue was Messi drifts in all areas of the pitch and they never played with a proper number 10. Antoine Griezmann was more of a central player and he often played out of position and normally played on the left and that affected his form and confidence. Neymar was irreplaceable and no one has come close to his impact.
how about cristiano ronaldo in real madrid he was a perfect winger and goal scorer vinicius and hazard and others canot replace him he was a legend winning every thing for real madrid why didnt you put that in the list it shouldve been number 1
How could you forget the legend who wasnt even replaceable even though the club brought in another legend to replace him but still couldnt i am talking about the goat ronaldo aka cr7

I'd personally say, if you slid Haaland straight into a team after Ronaldo left, he'd replace him well.
