Same story from me. I don't care if they gave me every single skin for free it wouldn't entice me one bit, because it's not the same damn game I paid for.
The problem with price anchoring is that the skins aren't worth $5, never mind $12. $20 legendaries are so ridiculous that they _still_ make loot boxes look good. Functionally, you'd get two to three legendaries from $20 of loot boxes. You're paying triple now purely for the premium of being able to choose exactly what you want, except you got coins before and could regularly choose whatever you want anyway.
Hot take: Loot boxes were completely fine, we just have parents that honestly shouldn't be parents because they genuinely don't understand how to teach their kid not to steal mommy's credit card or have the intelligence to.....Well, hide it.
@wahhnopfp I hate the idea of lootboxes, but the trick is that I could obtain every single item in a reasonable time without buying a single one. 4 years of playing overarwatch and I never did. Not at all the case with OW"2"
@@Fullmetalnyuu0 I came real close to, played it since launch. If people genuinely don't like lootboxes, that's a separate issue and is completely fine. But when they were using the excuse of it's the kids as to why it was a problem, nah it's the parents that are the problem in that scenario.
@@wahhnopfp ah yes manipulative and exploitative models that create gambling habits are fine because.... greedy company is still being greedy and just cant hide it as well anymore id rather see a company going down the drain from being that exploitative than having them around exploiting people, just because you arent badly enough affected by it
@@SharienGaming Quick question, what is manipulative or exploitative about purchasing a mystery gift with the potential at getting one of the cool gifts listed on a website? Say you get 4 of them in this package. Yes, the business is hoping that you'd buy multiple to get the big mystery item if you desperately want it. Okay, how about any of those dispensers of gum or small toys at a grocery store or mall? The gum is multi-flavored, meaning red one is cherry etc. Are all of these considered gambling? If so, why are these companies not sued to oblivion for allowing children to "gamble"? The main reason it's not considered gambling is because you always get something, it's not considered a prize. In lootboxes, there's quite literally no way to not get something, even duplicates gives you the credits needed for either more lootboxes or the items directly like in OW's case. And "create gambling habits" is beyond loaded. None of the things I listed create gambling habits, because aside from quite literally not being gambling like slot machines, violence in videogames doesn't cause violence, gambling in videogames doesn't cause gambling habits, cannabis doesn't cause Schizophrenia, you have to be predisposed to addiction or mental issues in order for these things to manifest. It's like saying bullets can "cause" the brain to explode. No, that'd be the force behind the round when it's fired.
2500 hours in 1, had every cosmetic, only spent 2 weeks in 2. I hated everything about it immediately. To me, the best part of Overwatch was when Blizzard wasn't paying attention. @@fella11814 I have never seen a game kill it own momentum like Overwatch did. Overwatch 1 was basically going from win to win, Sprinting forward as a complete Esport and casual win, and then blizzard bassically nailed its feet to the ground, almost exactly what the osbourne computers did.
Make the game people wanted for overwatch 2 or shut it down. Imagine losing any good will you would have got with the mythic skin thing with the 2 season nonsense. And I will not applaud them for heroes being unlocked how they always should have.
God… when i was younger, I wanted to work for Blizzard. Now, they disgust me so much that, despite the fact that I miss some of the games I used to play from them, I will NEVER touch a game by this company again. I feel bad for the actual good devs that have a genuine love for the players, but EVERYTHING their higher ups do is not worth spending a single penny on their games. I hope more Blizzard devs find relief and jump ship.
Blizzard promised a fleshed-out pve mode and later (after having taken the money off the gullible) went back on that. That people still stick around can only be explained by sunk cost fallacy and battered wife syndrome.
yeah I knew someone who kept defending the blizzard PVE missions that were released and I lost a lot of respect for them. They are super short very repetitive missions for the price that I could just buy an entire PVE game with tons more content and an actual active playerbase and IRL friends that want to play it. They should have been free.
Activision Blizzard being like "Nobody wants PvE content" only to have Helldivers 2 be as popular as it is is probably one of the best things that I've seen all year.
Imagine if they used all that devtime making the PVE mode they promised instead of predatory microtransactions. I love that Helldivers is blowing that shitty business model out of the water. Blizz can't crumble any faster
@@TheDassid Yes, I sure do! It’s a shame that they are able to promise added features (like PvE) but the U.S. criminal & civil justice system doesn’t make them pay any penalties. Therefore, I’m sure that they will continue to promise things that never come to fruition.

Customers are limited resources and if you bleed them too hard they stop paying and they stop playing Like bruh Even mobage companies understand this for a fact
Pretty sure the PVE didn't do well because it wasn't the originally promised version of it. The whole justification to have a 2 after Overwatch was that original PVE that was announced. But as soon as they said "we're not going to do that original promise" all the hype went out the door. People that were waiting for it, or were doing the "Just gotta get to the PVE, things will get better then" felt betrayed, lied to, and felt like what was the point of killing the original Overwatch if they were just gonna quit
They announced that we will never get the version with all the things people were hyped for, then said we will get three missions anyways but there will be no incentive to play it. Because well, there really is no reason to play them. We have just few heroes to pick from per mission, so replay-ability is not there, you don't get any rewards from playing it so no one will grind it, and the main thing, the hero upgrades are not in the game and never will be
No shit... people didn't want their story to be drip fed through seasons and dlc's, people wanted that epic grand single player/coop campaign that was supposed to make this a proper sequel. I can't tell you how many times I've heard so many people say "I don't like Overwatch but I love those characters and their art, I wish they where in a different game."
What Blizzard has done with Overwatch 2 is so sad. I agree - as a 1st person shooter PvP, Overwatch 2 is still fun to play casually. As a world, culture, lore, and broader story - so sad to see it go because of stupidity and greed at Blizzard. The OW 1 hero cinematics - Reinhardt, Bastion, and Hanzo/Genji most of all - along with the OW 2 cinematic were some of Blizzard's best cinematics. Emotional, heroic, inspiring, telling a deep story as to why you should get involved with that character and the world they're in. And they tossed it aside for potential money that, now, they won't make either way because they lied to their customers lol. Dumb leadership. Just dumb. And yes - it's shocking every single time to think about how little Blizzard gets done with how many resources and people it has. It seems like 80% of what they do is just focus on selling skins nowadays, so you wonder what the heck everyone else is doing there.
It's like that Homer quote: "I don't understand Marge was so happy when I made those promises, what happened?" Lol, them quietly cancelling and removing funding from their promises time and time again is just devastating for consumers trust in their new plans. Without any confidence in their plans why should we spend money on their game if we don't belive it will get any of the further development they promise.
I remember when they were talking about how dungeons in D4 were being revieewed and judged. Essentially they would end up throwing out probably 90% of what they made. Everyone on the team was making their own dungeon, then reviewing each other's dungeon, then throwing out most of them. That must be really crushing to have your work constantly being rejected and essentially wasted. It also means that you either conform to what the group decides passes or you keep getting your stuff rejected... I wouldn't be surprised if they need these huge team numbers because this is how everything over there works. A ton of stuff being created individually and then thrown out... A ton of people not adding value and likely just sitting back churning out stuff that they know won't matter. But they keep hitting their KPIs, so they're technically fine.
They did ed so dirty a lot of the reason why she was one of my favorites along with the dog was her mannerisms and she obviously was not fan service like Faye was

Was anyone even surprised? Disappointment is what you get when you promise people an amazing experience, convince them them they need the "sequel" it's supposed to come in, then cancel the experience, then tell them they'll still get SOMETHING, then sell them the dregs at 5 bucks a mission. In any other industry, they would've been sued out of business. It would be actually illegal. Imagine if Audi announced the new flying car. They give a huge announcement about it, show you footage of the various components and how they work together, hype you up. Then, 5 years of silence. Then they sell you the car, but they tell you it's not flying YET. The system needs a little more polish, they say. But here's the car, that'll be full price thank you. Then, a year later, they announce that the flying feature was a bit too ambitious. The math isn't mathing anymore. But what they CAN do is adjust the components to make the car lighter instead, saving you gasoline. For a monthly sub. And when it comes out, it turns out the system guzzles a lot of power which increases fuel usage, so the actual savings is tiny. Blizzard rightfully owes anyone who spent anything on or in Overwatch 2 a full refund. They're not going to get one, of course, but that's what should be happening. Nice of them to dial back some of the garbage changes to monetization they introduced instead of the box price and cosmetic shop, but that's not going to magically create the game system they sold the "sequel" on.
To sum up the video, Blizzard & their overlords fundamentally doesnt listen to their audience, understand game/story design, understand marketing, and understand who their audience is.
Blizzard made Overwatch 2 on the Kickstarter method. Promise a bunch of stuf up front, get everyone's money an then deliver on a portion of it, years late, and simply shrug at the rest.
It's funny. I lost interest in Overwatch about one year after release. But I get less interested every new update. Incredible how they manage to make things worse or at least change it from bad to bad but different.
Ah the old classic of releasing something that’s already a disappointment compared to what was promised and when it inevitably doesn’t sell gangbusters, declare the numbers prove that players don’t want that type of content, regardless of the quality of said release.
watch them not give you enough mythic prisms each season to make you either play for more than one season, or buy them directly because they were so generous and holy to grace you with the opportunity of buying whatever skin you want (but of course exceptions apply)
That "100 million players" number also includes my (and many others') account that I haven't played on in a year. I'm betting their playerbase is more like 20 million.
At the very least they should go back to how it was in OW1: easy to obtain loot boxes, skins not behind a pay wall and leave loot boxes purchasable for those who wanted more chances at a certain skin.
@@hootax8980 Even though the broader community got this idea in there head that ow 1 wasn't making enough money to be extremely profitable off of loot boxes that just isn't true. OW1 made enough money yearly even in its last few years to remain well over profitable. it was literally only greed that drove ow2 monetization system.
Let's go back to OW1 where they'll promise their new change to Mercy made her balanced, then nerf her quite literally for two years straight, give a slight buff, then nerf her again. The Devs on OW1 around the time Kaplan left were still brainlets.
Blizzard could offer me a 4-some with Mei Mercy and Brigette and I still wouldn't play overwatch 2. There's only so many lies and slimey schemes you can attempt before I'm just done with you forever.
I disagree with your take on Battleborn characters, and I feel like it purely comes from you playing a lot of OW and not a lot of Battleborn (or not playing it at all). Because BB characters were awesome, like genuinely interesting and fun: they were much more diverse because they didn't have to stick to real Earth lore, they all had something that made them deeper than what you'd assume from their looks. They didn't have that glamour/soft/polished look of OW artstyle, maybe that's what made you biased against them? "Who are all these jabronis" - this can easily be said about OW characters if you don't know or don't care about them. Another important thing is that you got to know BB characters from actually playing the game, instead of reading/watching stuff on some third party websites.
"Blizzard Quality". ...From the studio that literally destroyed THREE FRANCHISES due to incredibly poor quality, or abandoning them to inflict "Blizzard Quality" on another franchise. They've killed Overwatch once, and are in the process of killing it AGAIN. They've nearly killed Diablo. They killed the RTS half of Warcraft, and the MMO part might not be far behind. They've left Starcraft to die in the name of these other franchises they've almost criminally mismanaged. They left Heroes of the Storm to die to focus on Overwatch... ...Hearthstone might be doing okay? I guess? We're beyond "Shooting themselves in the foot" here. They emptied an Uzi into both feet and are currently RELOADING.
How is this a surprise? We knew that was the case once we saw OW "2" and how it was nothing but paywalls. The only reason that one "mission pack" was released is because they had some assets ready from when PVE was still happening. Now that we a all know it was just scam, flip the switch and revert it back to Overwatch 1.
If Blizzard wanted money. Maybe Blizzard should have made more... game? Cutting content and selling skins is a great way to gut your IP and entire studio brand.
Every year I am reminded that I am an old kermudgen stuck in the early 00s being utterly disgusted by practices in the gaming space that have basically become industry norms for its players. Either that or the mindset of multiplayer/live-service enjoyers is so alien to me that I can't comprehend it.
Any company reporting in the millions for player count does this, it's technically correct because otherwise they'd explicitly say concurrent players. Helldivers 2 didn't even break 500k concurrent at peak, and they have one of the highest ccp in all of Steam's history. To give context, HD2 got 450k and GTA 5 had 360k at its peak.
Never going to play it. Had the original overwatch was supposed to get characters because of that just like all my friends and messaged support. Support basically told me they don't care so haven't tried it since.
Ah, yes, Cowboy Beepbop. As one of the few players that actually played Battleborn before it died, I actually liked it more than Overwatch, but I know I'm in the minority on that opinion.
Bot gonna lie no e of them give me cowboy bebop vibes, yes I know it's just supposed to be skins, costumes. But I don't know how the heroes act, doesn't scream to me Spike, Faye, Jet and Ed
Me: These are all changes in the right direction. Its not perfect, but it shows some ownership. Blizzard: Great! So play our game! Me: No, I don't trust you.
Battleborn had insane character designs, the game was really funny too. I mean, where else can you play an anthromorphised mushroom ninja with kunai, or a disabled mad scientist grandpa on a flying chair, or as decepticon, all in one game? It also had a solid story campaign, and again, the humor was genuinely funny in that game. The only, and the main issue Battleborne had is trying to compete with Overwatch, and the game got much hate because of that, but it was really good.
Totally agree about characters, they were awesome. But I don't think the reason the game flopped is this simple. One of the big reasons, from my point of view, is that the game wasn't properly marketed, as in, players either didn't know what this game even was (and therefore never bought it) or had incorrect expectations (and therefore didn't like what they got, or it made it harder for them to adapt to what the game actually was). Then, probably, focus on PVP that wasn't ready for mass success: steap learning curve and matchmaking that didn't really work well for a small playerbase. Players were first matched together by their skill into one team, and then the system tried to find another team with similar skill - doesn't work fine when there's only a handful of teams to choose from.
lol... buy it again after we removed it from you when you bought it before! That'd certainly be something. They might get a little goodwill if they provided it to everyone who had it before.
19:45 reminds of southpark guys talked about in their documentary called '7 days to air' when Matt talked about a finished episode where he could spend more time polishing the script he could potentially make it slightly funnier but it not worth since it could cause an endless cycle loop or something like that. Anyways that mentally stuck with me whenever i do something creative related where i give myself a deadline, whether i meant my deadline or not and whatever my work end up good or not is whatever at that point, I just moved on learn from whatever i did.
It took 8 years, millions of dollars, and over 400 employees… but we finally got there. We finally have Overwatch 1 with less players and more currencies!!!!
Breaking news! Blizzard takes a step back from their absolutely horrible monetization. This comes shortly after blizzard ran a marathon off the backs of cope addicted super fans. One reporter asked a fan. "Why did you let this happen? They walked all over you." To which the fan replied. "Ill be honest. Blizzard could fart in a box and set it on fire, and I'd pay $60 to snort the ashes." Also, battleborn character designs were just as good if not better than Overwatch.
I get that all Blizzard cares about is whales, but is a game viable when all that remain are the whales? Or does Blizzard dream of a world full of whales? Paradox believes in a world where all of their customers must become whales. I don't think that world can exist on PC or console. They'll both need to refocus on shovelware mobile games to find enough whales to keep the lanterns glowing.
Overwatch 2 basically pulled a very similar thing that Fortenite did. Bait players with a PvE mode, completely switch to a PvP model, and then give an insulting "attempt" at giving what people wanted declaring that it wasn't what people wanted because they made it sabotagingly bad on purpose after pretty much ignoring it. Fortnite still accomplished this far worse, but the basics are the same. Wow, Blizzard and Epic are such d-bags when you spell things out.
Looks like it is time to face hard truths since Blizz got acquired by Activision things went down hill and now Microsoft cut a lot of their teams Diablo 4 is a global joke, Overwatch died after they killed it as an E-Sport basically all it was known for the only team still holding on is the WOW team and their game is slowly dying unless they do some drastic stuff to make positive changes which I hope they do.
U-huh, skins and heroes for free. I instantly forgot that they stole OW1 from my account and shoved a shitty f2p on it's place, made the game worse and took away everything that they promised. Oh Em Gee you guys, overwatch two is great now, definitely my new gaem.
Funny thing is that Blizzard could've just kept Overwatch 1 as it was and just changed it so you can buy the currency you get from dupe items from the loot boxes, stop allowing people to buy lootboxes directly and you are pretty much set for monetization. After that, you are just doing run things normally and people would've been fine in my opinion. Then the development of Overwatch 2 could just be a pure PVE game developed by a completely different team and not tied to the original Overwatch at all. Yeah, it's funny I see this update and I'm thinking, 'Good on you Blizzard for finally doing the right thing. Why did it take you so long?' Honestly, it's crap like this that gets me thinking, this is why Blizzard got all of those layoffs, the Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 teams are just inefficient as hell.
What does that last part about blizzard inefficiency being news? Even back in the “good old days” blizzard had been so notorious with this behaviour so no shit 30 years later, we’re still here, it’s hardly a modern triple A problem for blizzard, that’s just what they’ve alway been like. At least with Valve who were also perfectionists and never quick with the game designing, those guys ended up choosing the path of just not making games anymore thanks to steam being the infinite money glitch. Now they can just sit back and fucking around with VR for as long as Gabe lives/still owns the company.
@13:25 Probably because Porsche, despite having a _Porsche-Design_ Branch, probably didn't actually have much - if any - say in the Design of the product? 🤔 I own a bunch of their Products like the P'3135 Fountain Pen and the P'3110 Tec Flex Ballpoint Pen because they're kinda a small marvel or Engineering and Design.
Blizzard should have partnered up with a animation studio and have been cranking out cartoons of OverWatch. They wouldn't have to have been Arcane levels of quality, but they could have gotten something out there to keep hype going when the game itself was in the doldrums. And on top of that play toymaker probably would have wanted to license out too & make a crap ton of toys. It might have been a giant juggernaut like GI Joe, Transformers, or Power Rangers. Instead they have chosen a small niche audience as their game fades into irrelevancy. And the inevitable OverWatch 3. Just to make temporary hype and make all the same mistakes again. 😆
You can taste the desperation. They are seeing less players play the game and they are panicked and desperate trying anything to get people to stay and pay. This is them tweaking various variables and seeing what the retention rate and monetization rate is going to be.
Man. I miss the days of OW1. I had such great times with friends. I occasionally want to try out OW2 just to relive some of that nostalgia, but the effort of clearing storage space for it is just not worth it.
Some of the Cowboy Bebop Skins seem like they may even be somewhat broken because they are so far removed from their original class model that it could be hard for players to instantly know what the other player is from a distance.
I stopped caring about Blizzard around the time when SC2 came out, 3 months later after buying the game they said my cd was invalid even though i bought the game the same day it came out.

how did it take them THIS LONG to realize that was a bad idea from the get go
guess it was bobby's influence. Guy would sell you server queue tickets each time you log in if he could
When the money didn't roll in they expected it would.
I have not played that there Ubisoft shooty FPS we all enjoyed a few years ago...because I know there are 40+ new classes and I will get totally butt pounded and need to basically spend a good 100 hours to restore gamesense...somewhat...
RainbowSix Siege, yknow that one....like....when was the last time you guys even considered pissing on that metaphorical electric fence?
More it took this long for the juice to stop being worth the squeeze. They're desperate for more money as always.
too little too late for the masses.
25$ skin or 25$ of indie games.
We all know the right answer.
Bought "Wandering sword" today for 20 bucks." So ... I chose indie games.
humble choice has 7 good games and saints row for 11usd this month
Isint Last Epoch like 25$? Hmm 1 very well received game... or... a 25$ Skin youll forget about in a month...
Slightly off topic (and this is an honest question) why are we using dollar sign after the number?
"PVE won't keep players in, PVP and competitive with microtransaction is the way, why our player count is lower than the previous game?"
"So... our AA game, Helldivers 2, just released, is PVE only but I hope you like it, we worked really hard on--- HOLY SHI- THAT'S ALOT OF PEOPLE!"
I quit overwatch when OW2 came out, I hated the fact they were paywalling heroes. They fixed that with season 10 but I've moved on so much it'd be impossible to come back.
Gigantic is getting a re-release soon. Try it out.
They will try everything they can to get their hooks back into you. Respect yourself enough not to let them.
as a zaraya main i miss my friend reinhardt 😢
@@wahhnopfp ah yes manipulative and exploitative models that create gambling habits are fine because.... greedy company is still being greedy and just cant hide it as well anymore
id rather see a company going down the drain from being that exploitative than having them around exploiting people, just because you arent badly enough affected by it
@@SharienGaming Quick question, what is manipulative or exploitative about purchasing a mystery gift with the potential at getting one of the cool gifts listed on a website?
Years of just getting excited every event for all the new cosmetics, knowing all I had to do was play the game I loved to get them. RIP OW, I won't forget.
Yeah, definitely a sad situation. I loved Overwatch 1. 😭
@@a1pha_star I had come to terms with the Battle Pass stuff (even though it's a trash method of delivering cosmetics for 35 characters) and heavy monetization, but to change everything about the game to justify it just hit too hard.
Same. Cheers for that first year of OW 1. Plenty good memories friends and randoms alike.
I’ve been constantly told by my people that still play overwatch 2 that it needed to be updated to all the new shit. My jaw hit the floor when they said that. I hate 5v5 I hated their dps passives that gave dps increased movement speed and reload speed on top of taking away a 2nd shield. I hate that they put new heroes behind paywalls and make them all gay.
One of the headlines for their upcoming updates being "you'll be able to play the heroes the update centers around without giving us more money" is so fucking funny but sad at the same time
Rubs some damn salt in my wounds. "$40, all heroes, all maps, all free forever." One of the greatest modern game releases dashed to ash by greed. RIP, Jeff. And more importantly, Dinoflask.
That people still stick around can only be explained by sunk cost fallacy and battered wife syndrome.
this, absolutely this
They never worked on PVE. they just wanted to monetize it. That's it
yeah I knew someone who kept defending the blizzard PVE missions that were released and I lost a lot of respect for them. They are super short very repetitive missions for the price that I could just buy an entire PVE game with tons more content and an actual active playerbase and IRL friends that want to play it.
They should have been free.
there's a difference between "The gullible" and "They literally said it would have something and then lied about it".
100%, and as much as I hate it… I’ve lost a little respect for the friends I have that still play.
Price go up, content go down.
A common theme since 2020.
They can shit out horrible skins every couple of weeks and beg you to pay for them, though
Stonks
540 to 600 coins!? Golly gee, this is so swell! This 100% makes up for all the disappointment surrounding Overwatch 2! For sure!
imagine complaining about positive changes
They should have stuck with their original plan for adding a robust amount of PvE content!
Come on, they are just Blizzard that did WoW, they cant do the impossible !
@@TheDassid Yes, I sure do! It’s a shame that they are able to promise added features (like PvE) but the U.S. criminal & civil justice system doesn’t make them pay any penalties. Therefore, I’m sure that they will continue to promise things that never come to fruition.
These greedy scumbags are selling the skin collection for like 70+ dollars.
That is the price of BALDURS GATE 3. Let that sink in. DISGUSTED.
/spit
OR i could buy helldivers 2 AND another game. Yikes.
Man, I was never a huge fan of Overwatch, but I can only imagine how angry the handling of the IP would make me if I was.
I was invested and super hype about a PVE mode with in-depth story and character building options.... only to get a worse version of OW1 re-packaged as the sequel. I uninstalled OW2 in disgust in their 'season 2'.
I really dodged a bullet with Overwatch 2... I know some friends who invested a lot of time and money on it. 😂
I was a fan of Overwatch until they completely stopped caring about OW1, I played very little OW2 and I will probably never pick it up as a regularly played game again.
Now I mainly play Destiny 2 so the situation is not that much better... Rip
Customers are limited resources and if you bleed them too hard they stop paying and they stop playing
Like bruh
Even mobage companies understand this for a fact
Preach, even gachas are more fair than overwatch 2, it was that bad.
Did you see all that "Blizzard quality" in D4? I seem to remember it lacked basic ARPG features like a loot filter and a place to put that loot.
Don't worry, the place to put the loot is coming as a microtransaction!
Microtransaction? You meant macrotransaction!@@sempersteel2799
Maybe they should have stuck to their original promises with PvE instead of some uninspired cash grab.
there former ceo made it this way with the poor managment
They had an opportunity to rope me in with an actual story mode but they canned that for that thing a few months back
The moment in game purchases reach the coast of whole ass games, I check out.
I stopped buying battlepass iñ Cod when blackcell came out.
Halo Infinite has entered the chat
PirateSoftware pointed out that the Oblivion horse armor made more money than the sales of Starcraft 2.
Nothing has changed.

@@miken3963 Overwatch 3: this time with PVE (wee pomis).
@@miken3963 You the OW1.3 where you play in teams of 4 with all the back in backwards rotation? Yeah. I could see that happening.

Overwatch 2 is store with a game attached to it 😢
Shout out to the pay pigs keeping the game afloat for the multi million dollar company
Blizzard made Overwatch 2 on the Kickstarter method. Promise a bunch of stuf up front, get everyone's money an then deliver on a portion of it, years late, and simply shrug at the rest.
The Faye and Spike skins look worse than the Netflix ones, holy hell
At least they didn't go for Faye's God awful Netflix costume?😂
i chose battleborn over overwatch back in the day, and I still stand by that decision.
Lol me too!! It's a shame they dropped the ball on that game though it had potential.
Charging 25 dollars per skin is exorbitant. That price would be more suitable for the cost of the entire bundle.
Trying. Flailing.
Flailing n shii
I’m not so sure about the “trying” part.
You get what you deserve and im sorry but Overwatch has peaked, it will never grow back. Its in its half life phase as the player count tapers off.
That "100 million players" number also includes my (and many others') account that I haven't played on in a year. I'm betting their playerbase is more like 20 million.
nothing short of completely removing all monetization practices added in OW2 is going to make me give a single fuck about overwatch
On god
If they did that, the live service wouldn't last very long. They gotta pay the people working on the game somehow
The biggest reason the overwatch devs struggle to get anything done is shareholders. The stock market is our very own crafted malevolent god.
They lost me when they dumped PVE.
Hey, Battleborn had great characters, arguably better than OW.
It had cool PvE, too. On release.
18 month for 3 missions sounds crazy...
HD2 slipped a mission into what looked like a maintenance patch less than a month after release. ;)
That's unfair comparison tho, Arrowhead knows what they're doing, and Blizzard is just a starting indie company.
Every year I am reminded that I am an old kermudgen stuck in the early 00s being utterly disgusted by practices in the gaming space that have basically become industry norms for its players. Either that or the mindset of multiplayer/live-service enjoyers is so alien to me that I can't comprehend it.
I'm at that point where if a game has a way to spend more on the game, I'm out. Doesn't matter what they're selling, I'm out.
"100 million players". LOL... who wants to bet they are still counting me even though I uninstalled the game a year ago.
I heard Cowboy Bebop skins were in he game, but they all look horible except for Feye
Feye still looks off though
Bot gonna lie no e of them give me cowboy bebop vibes, yes I know it's just supposed to be skins, costumes. But I don't know how the heroes act, doesn't scream to me Spike, Faye, Jet and Ed
Me: These are all changes in the right direction. Its not perfect, but it shows some ownership.
Blizzard: Great! So play our game!
Me: No, I don't trust you.
And to think Battleborn was killed off because of OW. Battleborn had what yall asked for in OW2, yet you didn't want to support it.
Isn’t devolver digital having a big scale for all their games? You could by their games instead of skins in free game.
Overwatch Classic announcement at Blizzcon 2024 is inevitable.
lol... buy it again after we removed it from you when you bought it before!
15:00 Battleborn had actually pretty good character design(look up ISIC gameplay for instance), only no one played it,so that didn't matter.

It took 8 years, millions of dollars, and over 400 employees… but we finally got there. We finally have Overwatch 1 with less players and more currencies!!!!
Pay money for the battle pass, so you can work to earn another currency, to spend on skins. Garbage? Garbage.

I always like your videos but I wish that you would use the youtube chapters feature to make content easier to watch/rewatch.
Breaking news! Blizzard takes a step back from their absolutely horrible monetization. This comes shortly after blizzard ran a marathon off the backs of cope addicted super fans.
One reporter asked a fan. "Why did you let this happen? They walked all over you."
To which the fan replied. "Ill be honest. Blizzard could fart in a box and set it on fire, and I'd pay $60 to snort the ashes."
Also, battleborn character designs were just as good if not better than Overwatch.
I own a bunch of their Products like the P'3135 Fountain Pen and the P'3110 Tec Flex Ballpoint Pen because they're kinda a small marvel or Engineering and Design.
Sure glad BattleBorn died so Overwatch could be suuuuch a big success with no drama or missing features...
We fucked up Please give us more money. No thank you.
