  • This Pipe Organ was the largest organ that I have ever played. This church is Roswell United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia. There are 5 manuals, and a manual is a row of keys. The 5th manual was very challenging to play because of it being hard to reach, and there are not very many stops that go with that manual. Since there are not that many stops with the 5th manual, it is most likely not used very much. I did not play anything on the 5h manual in this video because it was hard to articulate the notes correctly and technique suffered since that manual is very hard to reach. I did manage to play all of the other manuals with no trouble. Despite how much fun this Organ was to play, I enjoyed getting the opportunity to play the hymn "The Old Rugged Cross" because it paraphrases so much of what the Bible says. Without the Cross, there is no entry to heaven. I am so happy that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead so that everyone could have the opportunity to enter heaven where everything is 100% perfect without a single blemish!! God is awesome!!!

      It’s a joy to play hymns on the Pipe Organ! Any time I play the pipe organ I am always reminded of what Jesus has done for me in my life.

    ohh good god! this sounds just like the pipe organ in my church! this song was played at my mom's funeral in January, my mom sang this song to me when I was growing up, it was our favorite song, I am sitting here watching this crying like a 2 year old, this will be the 1st Christmas without my mom, she watched me take my 1st breath, I watched her take her last....Mr. Waters please do NOT ever stop playing, you have NO idea how long I've waited to hear this song on a pipe organ! THANK YOU!!!!

      I have gotten the opportunity to play quite a few pipe organs within the past couple of years. As much fun as the classical music is, it does not match what the hymns because those like sermons!! I am grateful for the opportunities to use the ability to play the Pipe Organ for the Kingdom of God!!

I just can't get over this song, I still bawl like a 2 year old when I hear it, this song will forever be my favorite! in fact when I pass away, I want this played at my funeral before my ashes are spread out, would love to hear you playing amazing grace on a pipe organ, what about softly and tenderly jesus is calling? that would give me the willies, I love those songs, makes me think of my mom, you truly have a gift from god, I hope you never stop playing

    This might be a funny question to ask... But the first time you played this song in the video... What is the organ tone called? The second time you played it had a different sound. I really like the first sound of the organ the first round you played... Can you tell me the name if there is one? Thank you!

    • @1watersthree
      @1watersthree  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's really not a specific name for the different sounds that I played on each verse. However, the different stops are for different pipes. The first verse had some flute sounds along with some soft toned mixtures. The second verse was mostly pipes that imitate the sound of stringed instruments. There are four main types of sounds that every organ has, but sounds unique to each organ because of the room it is in and other factors. Those main sounds are: Flute, Reed, String and Principles. This can get detailed, so maybe it might answer your question. Don't forget about those other organ videos!!!

      +Michael Waters Okay thanks for the info. Do you happen to know the name of the organ you were playing? Like the make of the organ?

    • @1watersthree
      @1watersthree  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Laura Belle It is a Moller Organ. There are not too many organs that are 5 Manual Moller Organs. Most organs that have enough ranks of pipes to want or need 5 manuals are usually a different type.
