Many Thanks
Rob
A favorite hymn of my Mom who passed away in April 2008.
Thank you! Sorry to hear of your loss!
Whenever I feel down, I tune in to the beautiful hymns performed by the talented Rob Charles . Bruce
Thanks Bruce.
No matter how you "slice it", it still boils down to the same beautiful hymn and that old rugged cross.
There is a great message in every hymn, not just notes to hammered out. Rehearsing hymn playing is as mandatory as the musical offerings!
Praise HIS HOLY NAME...saved my sorry arse for sure.
:-)
AMEN!!!
Back to the Cross is where we need to stay!
Thanks!
A favorite of mine over the years. I am playing this wonderful hymn this Sunday.
This is one of the greatest hymns of all time, not just for Easter or funerals. Thank you for your time and talent in producing this and all the wonderful music you share here on YT!!!
Brilliant performance of this classic! I didn't know it was in use outside the US. Here it's a standard in lots of churches regardless of denomination.
Many thanks!
Very good, Rob.
We had this at my Dad's funeral (1973) and my Mom's funeral (1989) - in 1973 it wasn't (as it is now) one of the core funeral hymns.
That brought back so many memories of when I was a choirboy in the 50's. Caused me to shed a tear or two. Fantastic and thanks!.
Many thanks!
Thank you for playing such beautiful music what a gift to have! This song brings back wonderful memories for me of loved ones now gone ....
Thank you Diana that means allot stay tuned for further videos!
I always associate this wonderful hymn with services for my grandfather and seeing my father cry but it is a joy and blessing not a sorrow for the truth it shares
Thank you.
A great hymn indeed.
Thanks RobCharles for these beautiful and wonderful hymns. - Glory be to Yaveh, GOD of Israel!
Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Psalm 150:4
Thanks very much! :-)
Rob this hymn is absolutely beautiful and the awsome way that you play it really brings to life the true meaning of this hymn. Thank you again for allowing your beautiful playing to be used of The Lord to bless us the way he does.
Thanks Patty.
Awesome, an old hymnal never sounded so good, this pipe organ player is an absolute pro.
Thank You!
Such a beautiful hymn..I remember standing in the pew with my nan in the one behind me singing so sweetly to this hymn at my cousins funeral..This hymn will always remind me of her and when my Nan leaves this earth, this is one hymn I would love to be sung on her final day..Marvelous rendition of this hymn on the organ, loved every minute of it whole heartedly..Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much! :-)
Daniel Noble may God comfort your heart dear
This music and the words speak of God to the heart, that's what makes them so enjoyable, I think.
well as a prayer warrior or a choir student but i know one thing i love this hymn very much because this hymn is too close to my heart when i first excepted Jesus as my personal saviour then through thi hymn Jesus touched me
Beautiful Rob. This was one of my mother's favorite hymns and is also mine as well. You have such a beautiful talent, beautiful gift that you share with us.

That's really beautiful, Rob. "The Old Rugged Cross" is an all-time favourite of so many. I've just discovered this video, A lad I knew many years told me of a lass from the Salvation Army who sang it in some of Aberdeen's pubs and would have moved grown men to tears. Thanks Rob. God bless you, lad. Charlie, Aberdeen.

Wonderfully done Rob.My dad graduated from the Chicago Conservatory Of Music in 1911,moved to northwest Iowa where he was church organist and gave concerts a neighboring churches. He moved to Grand Rapids,Michigan in 1925 where he was church organist until his death in 1946. There is a small museum in Reed City Michigan that has the original upright piano with a living room setting that Rev.George Bennard used to compose the OLD RUGGED CROSS.

Rob, I have heard this posting many times, and all of the many other beautiful hymns from this organ, and this is the first time I noticed the page holders on the music rack, what a wonderfully clever idea, did it come on the organ standard or was it installed later as some ones bright idea ? I get tired of flopping pages when I am playing a long score. God Bless. Kevin
Thanks Kevin, they have been there ever since I think!
skipped through a time or two sounds good though
Thanks.
Are the playing too fast?
no
@@RobCharles1981 thx
