Do you know The ITALY TOP 10 Travel Tips? 🇮🇹👍th-cam.com/video/gaHvCH9GkAU/w-d-xo.html
From your opening 'definition'.... I'VE BEEN TO FLORENCE!! I absolutely LOVED the place. I'm 71 yo, from London, the Antico is in a street around the back of the Uffizi gallery. Queues everywhere, you need to have a really good idea what you want as service is manic, esp so if you don't speak Italian. Sandwich was AWESOME, as was the food everywhere. Cooking is made to seem so easy, but you know it's not: top quality ingredients, in season, minimal fuss, prepared with passion and yes LOVE. I ADORED this city.
Top "method" for breakfast in Florence if you want to fill up for a day of touring is to go to a grocery store... buy protein, fruit, cheese, etc and eat at your AirBNB before you venture out. Just my humble opinion after spending lots of time in Florence in the last couple of years.
This is a practical and cost-effective tip for travelers looking to enjoy a hearty breakfast without breaking the bank. Thanks for sharing your insight!
Would love to see a video on best Italian market foods for preparing and eating while staying in a Florence BnB.
Great idea for a video...But if you can't find one, I'll share what we've done many times in the last couple of years: Go to one of the local grocery stores or outdoor markets (you can find them via google map and many grocery stores to choose from in Florence). Then, buy lots of fresh veggies, meat, cheeses, pasta, eggs (boil the eggs for quick protein in morning), etc. Everything is fresh and meal prep took no more than 10-15 minutes, even for the six travelers I was with. The key is to buy fresh, throw everything on a plate and consume. My favorite meal is apricot jam, cheese, salami, on a slice of bread, fruit and veggies.@@nancyjohn3025
What's the point of that if you're not going to venture out and try anything outside of your hotel, etc?
Thank you for the advice, I have received a scholarship to study drawing and painting in Florence for a short time and this is really helpful, I have never been to Europe before so im really excited :) best wishes from Australia
Glad it was helpful!
I’m enjoying your Tour de France coverage 🚴♀️🚴🚴♂️🚵♀️🚵🚵♂️🚵♂️

Wonderful! thanks for letting me know!!!!!!!!!!
There is a famous Italian sandwich shop in my city, but they use a hard crunchy Portuguese bakery bun. There are always line-ups, the guys there are terrific, the cold cuts are without compare, but now I think they can try the sandwich with this softer bread. Schiatacciata Fiorentina. Looking at all this good food, I may have to go there for lunch
That Italian sandwich shop sounds amazing! Trying the sandwich with Schiacciata Fiorentina could be a delicious twist. Enjoy your lunch! 🥪
Please visit Elba, too.
😍😍😍
Thanks for the idea. Have you been?
I’ve totally been to the original location of that sandwich shop. OMG was it good!!! I will come back for that sandwich again someday. That was my very must do there. I was not disappointed!!! I had the original one and you will not be mad people. But don’t feed the birds!!
Yeah. So good! 😎
I remember when I went, there was an American walking by looking at the long line “it’s just a sandwich!”
Pretty dang good sandwich. But ya crazy long line
Haha, that American wasn't wrong-it's quite a spectacle for 'just a sandwich,' but as you know, it's no ordinary one! 🥪✨ The long line is a testament to how extraordinary it is. Glad you enjoyed it, and yes, sometimes the wait makes the taste even more rewarding!
Florence is the city where I would move to if I ever leave the USA, it's hard for me to stay away. A couple of my favorite places. Ditta Artigianale on Via Dei Neri for coffee and for lunch just down the street Ristorante Del Fagioli. Also for a sandwich SandwiChic on Via San Gallo. I I put your recommendation in "Notes' on my phone, hope to visit some of these in October 2023.
Thanks for taking notes. Also, it's a very livable city.
How much to use the bike
Hey which month is that you were ? At antico?
I think it was in May. Can't remember. ;) but I go there often. Just last week too
Dear Mr. Gregor, good job. 👍
While in Florence, why don't you show the Teatro della Pergola, with the acoustical device made by the only real inventor of the telephone, decades before one Bell was born?
I believe that the principal of the teathre would allow you to use it.🙂
Yes, i know, the electrical telephone ( "telettrofono" ) was made by Meucci many years after he built the device in the theatre, but i belive it'll be interesting as well. 😉
I've seen a sign there for him!
@@GregorBrownGreat, and thank you for your quick reply. 😉
Stop giving this man Sugar and Caffeine 🤣 🤣 🤣
Haha, I might need to cut down a bit, right? 😂 Thanks for watching!
I purchased the combo books for dining and Florence, but can’t figure out how to read the zip I received in email. It does not open on my iPad, which is where I would like to see it. Please help
I figured it out!
I'm not familiar with the iPad but it should have an unzip tool. After trying more, let me know if you're successful or not
GREAT!!!!!! Enjoy the guides!!! and thanks for the purchase!
I’d like to collaborate with you for a Halal food tour in either Rome or Florence or the south of Italy. It’s an emerging market as more and more Muslims travel to Italy!
I heard. I think in Rome you could make good content.
@@GregorBrown well if you want to make any videos together let me know! I’ll be there early May. I see you’re in SE Asia now.
What about people that love coffee but are lactose intolerant? Can you get alternative milks?
yeah, I've noticed in the last 5yrs all over europe at the bars, you can get Almond or maybe Soy milk. No problem!
Gota dance through the crowd bro
Let your feet float.
So true! Lol
Can I pay with my credit card in all restaurants in Italy?
Most but not all. Take cash.
question - do they do gluten free?
yes, Mark! Many restaurants in Florence and throughout Italy offer gluten-free options now, especially given the rising awareness of gluten intolerance and celiac disease. You'll find that Italian cuisine can be quite accommodating! 🍕🇮🇹
this is HUGE
Long video! 😎❤️
I gained five pounds watching.
LOL. Laughing now!!!!!!
I Fratelinni is far better in my opinion than the more "famous" Antico Vinaio. Run, don't walk to Fratelinni!
Is this usual now.. no one take US dollars ?
No they use Euro in Italy
I Don’t like they served cold breads in Italy 🇮🇹.
some place's I've seen it warm, but yeah, most places not.
I just got back from my 2 weeks Italy holiday. I thought i share something about buying Gelato in Florence so unsuspecting tourists will not get overcharged like me. I was roaming around the Duomo & saw a Gelato shop along the main thoroughfare, Via Dei Calzaiuoli from the Duomo. This shop is about 2 shops from the Hotel Maxim Axial, closer to the Duomo side. I ordered a Gelato & was slapped with a 15 Euro bill for the standard 2 scoops. I had earlier ordered similar Gelatos in Rome near the Trevi Fountain & Spanish Steps for prices ranging from 4 to 6 Euros. And the Gelato i got from this shop was of poor quality. The lesson learnt here is if you are ordering food near tourist hot spots, always ask for the price so you don't get a rude shock like me. Ciao!
Thanks for sharing your experience, and sorry to hear about the unexpected gelato shock! It's definitely a good tip for fellow travelers to be cautious around tourist hotspots. Some places, unfortunately, try to capitalize on the tourist traffic. Next time, I'll look for this guy and ask for prices. Hope the rest of your Italy holiday was fantastic despite the gelato hiccup! Ciao and safe travels!
I like to roam around on my own rather than join group tours, I watched your videos & they are a great help to my planning for my trip. Italy is beautiful & has lots of interesting sights to see. Even if i were to spend all my annual holidays in Italy, I would never be able to see them all. This is my third trip to see the places i omitted on my previous visits. By the way, I forgot to mention that I bought a pistachio gelato in Siena, it only cost 2.70 euros. Nothing like licking a gelato while watching the world go by sitting in a piazza in Italy. Ciao! @@GregorBrown
Ma parli italiano ! 😎👍
grazie!!!!!!!
My breakfast top location without a doubt @GregorBrown. is Caffe Lietta everything top notch and for a quick breakfast Caffe Gilli
good tip, Eddy.
