I've had iPhones and now I have this, and I do like this phone, it gets the job done and I keep my money in the bank. If you can spring for the 6 GB model and the 256 MB of RAM, go for it!
I’m with you. Have had 4 of the fruit co’s phones. Last one was a 12pro. It dumped on me after a update and tech said it would cost 400-800 to repair since warranty ran out. I said nope. Just ordered the 256gb w/ 6mb ram. Can’t wait to get it and start using. Do you miss the fruit company’s ecosystem at all? That is my only fear.
I hope you like your new phone as much as I like this one. Congrats! I did two things to this phone to pump it up ... I put in a 1 TB SD card for additional storage, and I disabled the so-called "Bloatware", that I myself would not be using. The result: a terrific phone that is a joy to use and gets the job done :-) and oh, no I do not look back at the *fruit stand" in my rearview mirror :-)
This will be my third. I had a G Supra and the '21 G Power which I'm currently using. UPS should deliver my stylus by 12pm today. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Same here! I'm on a Moto G 5G 2023 and I love it. Of course it came with a small handful of bloatware, but if you just disable them and uninstall them then you are good to go. 📱😁🤘
I'm about to switch over to this. My phone is old and tired. This phone will do everything I need, plus it won't cost me $1200.00 for something I don't need. I can build one hell of a gaming system for $1200. dollars. I can get the Moto G and take a vacation with the savings. Camping and fishing for a week in a remote area where phone service doesn't work, no way. WIN!!!
I'm using the 2020 Moto G Stylus at the moment and would love nothing more than to purchase the G Stylus 5G (2023). But my price ($500 CAD), our variant having its internal storage slashed in half (128 vs 256), and Motorola's ongoing lacklustre support, just doesn't make it a feasible purchase imo... Paid same price for my similar spec'd Samsung in 2021, it's still getting security updates and is on Android 13 (was A11 out of the box).
@@bazilcubed Nope it's the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) I was talking about. Like already mentioned in my above comment, our variant here in Canada only comes w/128GB of onboard storage unlike 256GB in the US. Even worse when it comes to the Moto G Power (2023), US 256/6, Canada 128/4. So even though we are paying similar prices when factoring in the exchange rate, our variants have less onboard storage and/or ram. That right there was enough for me to say "Hasta la vista Motorola" as I refuse to play their little games.
I still have my 2020 stylus but i uprgraded to the 2022 5g last year. Now i bought the 2023 cause i miss the duel speakers. Doesnt your battery drain super fast when you went to antoid 11?
@@bazilcubed The canadian vertion and t-mobile metro are nerfed to 128gb. Doesnt matter to much cuz u can buy a 512gb micro sd card for 50 dollars. and add it in.
As I do appreciate that your trying to not be partial to any particular phone while making this I do want to make you informed about some things about this model of moto stylus but the 4g version, as well as the 2022 (4g), both being the straighttalk carrier prepaid version that you may want to know and will find interesting and also, kinda upsetting to know as well but everyone deserves to know. I am using the 2022 to write this fyi. I've owned all the 4g versions of the stylus as in 22,23 versions from said carrier and both are prepaid. I bought the 22 model for $158 and some change as it was the cheapest one that they had that was carrier based. I am gonna say (and I mean this not as of my opinion, but just from specs on them. And from experience using both and will keep it as such). Quality and price wise the 2022 4g stylus is a by far superior model then the 2023 and even 2024 model that's also the 4g version for many reasons such as: 2022 version has TWICE the internal storage then the other models with 128gb of storage and has the micro SD option as well for expanding as do the others. But the newer versions only have 64gb of storage, that's half of the 2022 model, the 22 model sports a beautiful 1080p 90hz 6.8 inch screen, the 23 and 24 only a 720p they are both 90hz but also only 6.5 inch screen. All have very loud stereo speakers, they all can achieve up to 50mp using the rear cams, but the 22 model has 3 cams as the other models only 2 giving the 22 model more dexterity to pictures taken, and the 22 model also sports a superior 16mp selfie cam as the newer models selfie cams are only 5mp and 8mp. Both the 22 and 23 models have identical cpu and gpu chips made by mediatek the 24 model sporting a high quality CPU as it is a snapdragon, which the 5g versions of the prior 2 models also snapdragon CPU but not the 4g versions. 22 model has 4gb of ram 23 model having only 3gb of ram and the mediatek CPU is 2.0gb for the both models that are octa core but with only 2 cores able to reach 2gb the other 6 cores running up to 1.8gb. both the 22 and 23 model sporting nearly identical stylus's both have side finger print sensors located on the power button, and both are identical with Bluetooth 5.0 but there is minor differences with what sensors in all the 22 and 23 models include with the 22 model having more than the 23 model. Both have 3.5 aux jacks as well. So you can see with what I've put down so far that in caparison of the 22 and 23's models Motorola has decided to literally made the newer model half the quality as the 22 model in almost every single way. Smaller screen with lower resolution, half the storage, one less rear cam and only half the mp of the prior years selfie cam as well. They both have a 5000mwh batteries though the battery on the 22 model lasts quite a bit longer than the 23 model, even with a years more use which is actually mind blowing, running at twice the resolution and both are using 90hz settings. I haven't had a single problem with using the 22 model as I actually have with the 23 model and I've used the 22 model extensively for gaming, streaming, and using the web and social media, where as I haven't done much with the 23 model besides tiktok and web use and youtube rarely time to time looking at videos that are pretty much like your video here. The 22 model even though it has a glossy back which I find rather appealing myself does tend to pick up finger prints more than the matte back of the 23 model but are easily cleaned off and the 22 model feels like it is more quality built than the 23 model in your hand. The 22 model a little heavier feeling but not a uncomfortable amount but a more solid build feeling as the 23 model feels lighter but almost has a hollow plastic feel while in your hand and deffinetly makes you feel that it would be more fragile then the older model. I'm actually thinking of selling my 23 model online, it is only around 3 months old and in perfect shape, no scratches or cracks or blemishes for $70 dollars if your interested so you can have a physical model of the phone to compare with the 5g counterpart that you currently have if your curious to see what differences the two have themselves and if you'd like to be able to make a video for you viewers with your findings. It's up to you, thought maybe everyone might find it interesting yourself included. I also want to let you know that I have owned way higher quality phones in the past as well such as the Samsung note 10 plus as well as the Samsung note 20 ultra flag ships but even with that in mind I kept my opinion of the moto stylus's only comparing with each other and know that the quality difference would not be fair to be compared to flag ships of that range, but wanted to add that to let you know that i do have knowledge of higher spec phones from experience so that you would know that i have knowledge of different ranges of qualities in phones and not just of budget to mid range, and also to show that having that knowledge did not effect my comments about the phones talked about this comment. I just thought you would like to know to further your ability to give your final opinions to those who might ask your advise on these phones, or if you'd rather recommend something different if they asked with this more indepth info added to what you have known already. I hope that it helps and I want to make sure that you know that I mean no disrespect towards you while writing this so I hope it doesn't have that effect with you, I only ment this to widen your knowledge on these phones and give information to you that you might not of known or had. Your video was very well put together and I enjoyed watching it! Have a good day and the rest that follow, if you would like to talk to me about the 23 model I offered you can get a hold of me on my Facebook messenger, m.me/sean.hogan.73181 or if you have any questions that I may not of covered.
I started using this phone a few weeks ago, it's been really great... but if you knew what I was coming from lol yeah almost ANYTHING would feel like a million bucks! This is my second smartphone. The first was the Moto G5+ (2017) and hooo boy did I ever milk that one for every drop of blood it had. The battery no longer held a charge. I literally had to have it plugged in to use it. Then, it started not loading/firing on for me, showing a "System UI has stopped" message. I had to get a new phone, and it was sooo overwhelming trying to decide what to get. For some unknown reason (brand loyalty?) I decided to stick with Motorola for phone #2. Motorola stopped getting favorable reviews since I bought the G5+. (At the time, it was a top rated budget phone.) Anyway... All this to say, even though I planned on the Thinkphone or the Edge Fusion 30, my hand was forced to get something immediately available, and this G Stylus 5g is at Target, so I chanced it. And I am really happy with it! I'm loving the stylus, I use it almost all the time instead of my finger, it's so precise for hitting tiny wee things (x closeout things, for instance) and typing with it is nice. I prefer doing screenshots with it, now. And all the drawing options are just cool. I didn't know if I'd be keeping this phone, but I will be, definitely. The only thing I don't like is the size and weight. Phones got bigger since 2017. I prefer them smaller. Once I added my case, this is truly noticeably more phone to lug about, but what are you going to do? I'm getting used to it. So. Yep, agree- nice device. And oh! It went down to $299 for Prime Day, and might still be gettable or will be again for that better price point. (I had to pay the 399. 😩)
I also am replacing my Moto G5 Plus. I'm thinking of doing the Moto Edge Plus 2022. It's such a great price since the 2023 came out. Kevin, your thoughts?

I bought this phone coming from a Motorola one ace. I did Alot of research and found this is one of the very few phones that has a actual headphone jack. My older car doesn't have Bluetooth. 😢 So i can connect to the cars radio. The specs are more then enough for everyday use. There was only three options for phones with a stylus. This phone comes in way cheaper then the s22. My dislike for Samsung comes from screen burning in apps so i always saw icons. Samsung pumps out phones and doesn't support thier old ones. The pixel phones do look like a better option however heard had alot of bugs. And heating issues. What people sleep on is the wave gestures like open camera three fingers screen shots. The newer chip. The stylist comes in handy for fast forwarding videos. Has a metal stylus. Cameron is upgrade over other phones . Other phones do have slightly better camera but i feel not that much better. Seeing as they are way more expensive and with a quick edit you can use pro mode and widescreen and it comes just as close. The internal storage is alot and expandable. With the moto app the screen can be tailered to your needs for size of keys text and apps. I have poorer eyesight unfortunately. If you buy this you will want to get a 20amp charger and type c to type c wire as thats what unlocks the fast charge capability. The 4k recording is nice and video quality looks better than other options. Also this phones screen is longer and larger than alot of the others. Even other Motorola's. So for a phone on a budget its truly a great phone. Highly recommend.
If price isn't a factor th3 Samsung s22 ultra will have you jumping up and down once you get it! The only phone i can compare to it is my s20 ultra lol it's seriously just as good still. But without a doubt go for the s22 ultra you will not be disappointed at all! While more expensive you definitely get what you pay for and it's night and day between it and the moto g stylus definitely twice the phone.
My flagship fruit company iP-12 pro crapped the bed and I wasn’t going to “fix” it for 860.00 since I paid 1165.00 for it 2yrs ago. Fed up with the fruit company, I struck out to find a good lower level phone with expandable and storage. Found this and after watching a bucket of reviews and reading all the comments, ordered this phone today. Ordered a case on Amazon for 8.99 and a 512gb micro so uh1. Can’t wait to delve into android. Been with the fruit company for 12 years with the 4s, 6+, 8+, and 12 pro.
Mine is total shit. When I'm reading an article, it just exits back to the home screen. So infuriating!🤬🤬🤬🤬 And the camera just stops taking pictures. And I'm so tired of Motorolas having the volume just drop, out of nowhere, when I'm streaming audio. It can do a lot, but it's a very bad phone. I hate it.
The galaxy note 4 is my all time favorite phone, and i have owned a lot of phones. Great quad hd display, advanced stylus features, ir blaster, only thing missing are dual stereo speakers, but still an amazing device.
This cellphone is a piece of junk ... Offer two styles of clock analog and digital, but it isn't true .. I was using an analog clock and suddenly disappeared ...
Nah this phone sucks, lol It's smaller that's the 21/22 version. It's got 4gb of ram. And the specs suck. Get the pixel 6a or galaxy s21 fe, those are WAY better choices..
Ram is actually 6gb. Cricket and other carriers have gotten a watered down 4gb ram model. But the actual unlocked variant has 6gb. Kinds sucks that this years version is maxed at 6gb, while last years you could get a 6 and even 8gb model.
@@alontewells9324 nah online many people have the same issues. Another issue is it's terrible at multitasking. This phone has 3 times the processing power as my old Samsung. Yet if I minimize a TH-cam video and try to take a photo at the same time it totally lags out. It's just a terrible phone.

I have to start saving up money so I can get either of 3 phones in interested. The Galaxy S22 ultra, Moto g stylus 5g 2023 or the red magic 8s pro
Go for the 23 ultra much better phone all around
(my opinion of course, lol)
If price isn't a factor th3 Samsung s22 ultra will have you jumping up and down once you get it! The only phone i can compare to it is my s20 ultra lol it's seriously just as good still. But without a doubt go for the s22 ultra you will not be disappointed at all! While more expensive you definitely get what you pay for and it's night and day between it and the moto g stylus definitely twice the phone.
Red Magic 8s pro was my next cell
This vs nord 30 5g?
Mine is total shit. When I'm reading an article, it just exits back to the home screen. So infuriating!🤬🤬🤬🤬 And the camera just stops taking pictures. And I'm so tired of Motorolas having the volume just drop, out of nowhere, when I'm streaming audio. It can do a lot, but it's a very bad phone. I hate it.
Seems like a really good phone 📱🤳🏽.
Can we increse the RAM in this?
i dont fine battie that good it 4th time charging my phone in 2 days seens i got it
Six months later...OnePlus 12r total different level of phone for $399 or less.
Plastic is better than glass. Think about it.
I'm getting a Samsung Galaxy S9. What is your opinion about it, Kevin? Great video!!
Damn that's old
Super outdated. Dont
Anyone else have the 2022 stylus and just have their speaker suddenly decrease the volume to 50% all the time out of nowhere?
Yes I have it and it drives me nuts.
@@storm2224 omg yes me to
I usually use earbuds...but this IS my 4th time buying same model.
I dont think ive had that problem before. But i just bought the 2023 and waiting for arrival. I miss the duel speakers from the 2020 version.
@@flint9889 the 2023 version does have dual speakers but the one on the top is slightly quieter then the one on the bottom
This phone is a real ass wipe. Skip it, or you'll regret it. You've been warned ⚠️
😂is the battery easily removable?
I don't think it's user replaceable.
Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe lmao lol😂🤣
I think that stopped around the galaxy note 4 days.. Great phone for its time i might add 😅😂
The galaxy note 4 is my all time favorite phone, and i have owned a lot of phones. Great quad hd display, advanced stylus features, ir blaster, only thing missing are dual stereo speakers, but still an amazing device.
Yes
This cellphone is a piece of junk ... Offer two styles of clock analog and digital, but it isn't true .. I was using an analog clock and suddenly disappeared ...
Nah this phone sucks, lol
It's smaller that's the 21/22 version.
It's got 4gb of ram.
And the specs suck.
Get the pixel 6a or galaxy s21 fe, those are WAY better choices..
The unlocked version i got has 6gb ram that said the galaxy S series blows this out of the water, even my s20 ultra runs laps around this thing
Ram is actually 6gb. Cricket and other carriers have gotten a watered down 4gb ram model. But the actual unlocked variant has 6gb. Kinds sucks that this years version is maxed at 6gb, while last years you could get a 6 and even 8gb model.
You are reading the wrong specs, this is the 5g 2023 variant, sd 6 gen 1, 6gb ram, yeah confusing i know
@@ISBE91 oops! yup youre right, lol
I got 6gb of ram on the Moto G Stylus 2023, there is another version of this phone with more ram and storage
Phone sucks. Major audio issues.
This phone is awesome
@@elijahbaxter7163 no. It has major sound issues.
You might have a defected phone mine works just fine
@@alontewells9324 nah online many people have the same issues. Another issue is it's terrible at multitasking. This phone has 3 times the processing power as my old Samsung. Yet if I minimize a TH-cam video and try to take a photo at the same time it totally lags out. It's just a terrible phone.
@@MetaGuideMedia maybe just don't watch a video while you trying to take a photo, this a budget phone for people that want to keep their money in their pocket, again I have no issues with the phone it gets the job done.
