@TechDaily The new stylus seems like a great improvement over previous models. My main complaints with the 2019 stylus were the removal of dual speakers in the 2020 version and the use of weak processors like the Snapdragon 4805g. And mediocre display panel as far as one year of OS support I still think the stylus device can last for years without another update coming in the future

I have purchased all Moto G Stylus 5G phones since 2022. The 2024 one is a huge upgrade over the previous models. The 6.7 2024 is physically smaller than the 6.8 in the 2022 in the external dimensions, whilst maintaining near identical actual display real estate because of the much smaller bezels in the 2024 model. The OLED is absolutely gorgeous. I don't care for the color though. This should've been black.

I'm so excited to try out this phone! I've used Motorola for a long time, and I currently use a Moto 5g play 2024. One thing I disagree about this video is that Motorola is constantly updating my phone every couple of months, so I have high hopes that this phone will be constantly getting updates as well! Excited to try it out. :)
I got it last week at cricket for 155 so far i love it i did my research before getting it upgrading from 2021 moto g power way big improvement this my 3rd motorola phone best one ive gotten by far
Not ridiculous at all! This Moto G Stylus 5G is a great phone, and I came from the Edge+ 2023! I hope this phone sells enough to persuade Motorola to update it for more than 1 major OS update...
I'm not sure if it's just me, but i was given the option to uncheck/not install all of the additional bloatware apps during the initial setup process while i was transferring data between my old G Stylus 2022 and this new one. The only bloatware app that survived was facebook, but that was easy to uninstall. From a phone standpoint, i have been very impressed with the 2024 Moto G Stylus so far, and consider it a worthy upgrade from my 2022 model, definitely the best phone from Motorola i've used in years.
I have no idea why I wasn’t presented with the app selection/install page - I had it on the 2024 G 5G & the Power, but those didn’t have the same startup/splash screen as this Stylus out of the box. Maybe a software difference? But I agree - a big upgrade for sure!
I haven't used a Galaxy Note phone since the Note 9, and obviously they don't exist any more. Some people will object to the comparison since they need the power features of a Samsung, but for me, this feels like I reme.mber a Note feeling... From the beautiful screen to the stolylus experience. Amazing device.
Looks really good thanks for doing the review I'm going to wait for a sale which you knew will come sooner or later and yeah when you buy Motorola you know updates aren't their deal so if you buy one you just have to take that into account that you might get one and it will come really late and then security updates also come really slow so if you can stomach that then the hardware on the Motorola's are really nice at least this one is
Great video Wade..(My POV: they should at least put a charger in the box, if they're gonna use all that cardboard. If you don't have one, you have to order one..(Have you seen the boxes and packaging Amazon uses to ship small chargers??? Its hilarious)...so since they using cardboard ANYWAY...just put a charger in the Box)!!! 🤣😁😁
You mentioned your disappointment with the complete lack of long term software support, and I completely agree with you. I work in mobile sales at a best buy which makes me intimately familiar with all these devices. I have trouble recommending motorola as a brand because of this exact reason. While my customers may not always understand the importance of smartphone sustainability, I can at least do my part and recommend longer supported devices at mid range price points such as the Galaxy a35, or Pixel 8a. Even a preowned iPhone 12 will be supported longer than a modern moto device, and that's just sad... ----------------------------- Conspiracy time ----------------------------- Absolutely correct me if I sound ridiculous but... I think motorola fails to support their devices for so long is because they really do see their phones as completely disposable to the consumer. Motorola doesnt have the benefit of other devices in their company's mobile ecosystem to prop them up inbetween device upgrades. The average moto consumer is not gonna get a moto watch, or moto earbuds, or a moto tablet, or a moto bluetooth tracker, or moto cloud storage and so on. Motorola has the sale of this device and thats it. If they make the device "feel" and look obsolete sooner, the custoemr is going to upgrade to the shinier new phone with all the cool new android features much sooner. Meanwhile samsung can trust that if you buy a $400 Galaxy A35, they xan probably get you on a watch later, and then some buds, all the while you never felt the need to upgrade your phone because its felt current for 4 years. Anyway. Thats my ted talk.
You definitely hit the nail on the head. I purchased the 2020 Moto G Stylus sometime in late 2020, and the phone was just amazing. Fast forward to 2021, just over a year of having it, and it was starting to perform quite pathetically. Battery life went from average to sub-par, while the overall speed of the phone (loading apps, specifically) was abysmal. I know after having a handset for a period of time will cause both of those problems, but that seemed really fast, in my eyes. I purchased the Google Pixel 7a in July of last year, and have it now as long as I had my G Stylus and it still works just as great when I first purchased it, showing how much better it is than a Motorola device. I mean, the Pixel is $500 versus the G Stylus that was bought as a deal for $250, original price being $300 but I do concur 100% that Motorola only sees their phones lasting a year, once it's up, the buyer should purchase a new one.
That is always been my problem with the Motorola G stylus series that they never interest me because it just didn't appeal to me but I got to say this one change my mind
They removed charger for " EcO " but yet had cardboards. The amount of likes say people just love jumping to conclusion easily. No charger because of nature saving , but yet more cardboard. ?? so I giess that's something to think about. We as consumer aren't benefiting anything from this tactic. It's price is low but charger is also there. Not everyone has working charger or slow charger so yeah . Some phones seem cheap unless you got a free charger deal .
Very nice review and this does look like one of Motorola's better devices! Just out of personal curiosity, I decided to look into this whole fingerprint sensor thing to see how important it is for the sensor to be instantaneous when touched, or if that millisecond or so takes away from one's experience! I ended up asking 50 people (mostly friends & family members with a handful of total strangers included) and not ONE single person has an interest or even cares if the fingerprint sensor is instantaneous or not! Three or four of the people even went so far as to say that their sensor isn't always reliable in that they have to touch it a couple times for it to even work, yet they have no complaints or lack of satisfaction with their devices. For me, my (standard) Pixel 8 has been an awesome phone, barely ANY issues whatsoever, even though the fingerprint sensor is not the quickest in the world........99.9% of the time it works very quickly when I touch it! In my humble opinion, a person's life has to be pretty bankrupt if a fingerprint sensor has to be instantaneous for him/her to be satisfied with their phone!
I'm come to terms I have to look at new phones now. I've bought my LG V60 used and it's a damn fine phone but it's old, I've dropped it to many times and I've always wanted a stylus. This video made up my mind. I also refuse to pay good money for a new phone without a phone jack. And your suggestion of going to my carrier (straight talk) to see if it's even cheaper and it is, so, much love for this video💜💜💜
Samsung has the best software support for major android updates across all of their budget, midrange, and flagship phone which all get four years of major android os upgrades.
I hope you would show us if you can take a note with the screen off and then if you can use this note as a reminder with the screen still being off, something you can't do in Samsung note devices yet
Does this newer version of the moto s G Stylus support screen mirroring or smart view which is what Samsung calls it. And no it is not the same as Chrome Cast. It may use the same principles but does not require a wifi router to be needed.
I got this phone because i was bored eoth apple. I LOVE this phone. My screen quality is fire, its a GREAT size, and it runs smooth. Idk i may be a motorola boy from now on 👻
Shame Moto isn't available on my country anymore, but I'm hoping that they continue to make this. A perfect niche market for them to be in, having a pen at the midrange and personally after having Samsung's note for years, I can't think of parting ways with a phone that has no pen. It's a great asset for students who doesn't want to bring many paper! Also I've been hearing some good news regarding better Stylus integration and app for Android 15 ❤ This phone felt really close to my beloved old Samsung Note 10 lite, good display and camera, capable chip at midrange, still keeps the headphone jack and microSD. I really miss the latter when having to step up to the S Ultra lines. Good lord, had that phone not succumbed to display issues I would've kept it or buy this Moto if it's available 😢 I'm hoping that moto could step up their Stylus game as well in the upcoming models. No need for a full wacom digitizer like Samsung does (to keep the cost down) but having a bluetooth to use it as a remote that can take picture + other stuff can be handy. Plus, having a zoom camera would be great too for Students should they need to take pics of lecturer's board from afar.
I've got the Moto stylus 5g(2021) the green one. I've had it since 2021 and it's just starting to act up but nothing too annoying. Now that they came out with this phone I think it's for me to upgrade.

hello bro. I wanted to tell you one thing which i have noticed from many years of experience with different phones. is that when you see the temperature of samsung and xiami phone in same room temperature, you will notice that even in the same room temperature xiami phones are on little higher temp. like if samsung is 33 C hot. then xiami phone would be 35 C hot. now how it affect the phone. I have noticed that smasung phone battery life span is longer than the xiami. so this is how it affact the life span. This point is not discussed by any person on the internet. Only I have noticed this point. and I wanted to inform you so that you also check these things and show to the public. much respect for you. thanks.
The Samsung A series phones have 25% less memory than this phone. This phone has 8 gigabytes of memory, whereas Samsung As all have 6 gigabytes. The Samsung As also skip on having a real proximity sensor in the phone. Instead, they use software gimmicks to "guess" if the phone is on your ear, in your pocket, on the table, etc. The only thing where Samsung As are better than this phone is software support. Samsung As offer a few more years of software upgrades than does this phone.
Just ordered it. $200 with trade in of old phone i never use. Only want it for the expandable memory to check my trail camera SD cards. And for the headphone jack cuz that's how my Harley stereo system connects to my phone. My daily driver is OnePlus 12

Me too, I have the 2023 5g Moto g stylus from boost mobile also...my 2020 stylus is holding up just fine, the bloatware on the 2023 hinders some performance... making the 2020 look stable and hard to put aside.
@@TechDailyYeah, it's a great phone! I love the upgraded specs. The storage is plentiful, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processer is solid. The screen trifecta, bright screen that performs well in sunlight, I can actually see the content on screen in broad daylight!! 😂 The 120 hertz screen is solid too!! Love the slightly newer Moto UX interfaces too!! I wish they did give this phone at least 2 OS updates. Even 2 would have been sufficient enough, at the very least. At least there's 3 yrs of security updates... Stylus pen is pretty neat. I enjoy the Dual speaker set up and everything else is fantastic!! Good job Motorola!! Especially for the 2024 Moto g lineup!!
@@TechDailyI think your complaints were heard for this year. I think your reviews are on point and whenever there's something that really isn't right, especially when you reviewed last year's Moto g stylus, the points you hit were spot on. Yes, Motorola Moto G phones aren't meant to be like ... Flagship phones per say, but they also shouldn't be so crippling bad crappy that they would be considered as e waste that you would chuck out the window after not even a year. I hated the 2023 Moto g stylus, the only redeeming Grace would be it's much cheaper price point, and dual stereo speakers which I dunno why they would wanna put on a phone that crappy...
@@TechDailyMotorola in 2024 is taking the right steps in the right direction so far. And I hope it stays that way, make better and quality phones at a decent price that will work in the longer term. Not make a whole bunch of sub par phones with minimal upgrades or get a mixed bag phone or just straight up downgrades from the previous years.
I am glad they went with OLED because most of the moto g stylus phones have crappy dim IPS LCD screens. Colors are decent probably not as good as OLED but the screen on past moto g stylus phones are so dim. Like my LG stylo 5 gets brighter than my moto g stylus 2021 and the LG stylo 5 might even get brighter than every moto g stylus expect for the 2024 version, I am not so sure though because I don't have the 2022 and 2023 version, but I am pretty sure it's possible the LG stylo 5 is brighter than those phones. Still I am glad Motorola gave people an OLED screen after many years of having crappy dim IPS LCD screens.
hi, having had a few Motorola devices in recent years...the penultimate is the g stylus from 2023, a good device in itself but a cheap stylus, outdated LCD screen and horrible updates, but for a few days now I have had the new moto g stylus 2024 as a second device and I can confirm that Motorola has made a big leap forward with a superb 120hz amoled screen, a good processor with very good performance, a battery with excellent autonomy, an improved stylus that is more pleasant in the hand and improved manufacturing quality..., the only point that is still too negative with Motorola is the poor update tracking....this device will only have two major updates, it comes out with Android 14 and will surely have Android 15 afterwards......🤷.., I don't understand Motorola not improving their update tracking, it is most likely their major weakness that prevents them from returning to the big leagues...., otherwise this moto g stylus 5g 2024 is excellent value for money. THANKS
Looks like a good larger phone option, but if you are interested in photography, avoid this device at all costs! The camera is still pretty awful if you compare it with 5 year old flagships.
This is proof that samsung and google dont have to put those ancient looking bezels on their phones which are 100 and 200 dollars more expensive than this one MSRP price.
I think the reason these companies do that is they invest & commit to a single display type for like 2-3+ years and end up using it on a bunch of phones. Eventually they pivot to a new display type and do the same thing. Motorola’s phones had awful displays with thick bezels for years and year and now this year they finally brought something new. I’m sure we’ll see the P-OLED, thin bezel screen on more Moto’s in the next few years
Crying tears of joy 🥲 This might be the best Moto device ever

I got it last week at cricket for 155 so far i love it i did my research before getting it upgrading from 2021 moto g power way big improvement this my 3rd motorola phone best one ive gotten by far
Not ridiculous at all! This Moto G Stylus 5G is a great phone, and I came from the Edge+ 2023! I hope this phone sells enough to persuade Motorola to update it for more than 1 major OS update...
I'd rock this phone for my secondary daily use but Motorola needs to do better with software updates
Wade, I love your reviews! Keep up the good work!
Excellent review! I just ordered 2 of them (one for my wife also). It'll be a huge upgrade for me coming from a 2019 Moto G7.
I got the device for free at Cricket I have to say Motorola has stepped it up for sure
a 3.5mm jack! It's aliiive
💪🏾🔥🤣🤣
🔥💪🏾🤣🤣
Great review, thank you very much. I am setting up my device as I watch.
Did metro provide any info on how to use dual SIM and eSIM simultaneously?
You mentioned your disappointment with the complete lack of long term software support, and I completely agree with you. I work in mobile sales at a best buy which makes me intimately familiar with all these devices. I have trouble recommending motorola as a brand because of this exact reason. While my customers may not always understand the importance of smartphone sustainability, I can at least do my part and recommend longer supported devices at mid range price points such as the Galaxy a35, or Pixel 8a. Even a preowned iPhone 12 will be supported longer than a modern moto device, and that's just sad...

Conspiracy time

Absolutely correct me if I sound ridiculous but...
You acted like they cut down 679 trees to make that tiny box bro chill, lordy!!
Then how about this? *_One turtle death_*
Commendable he cares enough. Why be judgmental when it impacts you in a positive way as well?
Love the direction Motorola is going in
Samsung has the best software support for major android updates across all of their budget, midrange, and flagship phone which all get four years of major android os upgrades.
I hope you would show us if you can take a note with the screen off and then if you can use this note as a reminder with the screen still being off, something you can't do in Samsung note devices yet
Does this newer version of the moto s
G Stylus support screen mirroring or smart view which is what Samsung calls it. And no it is not the same as Chrome Cast. It may use the same principles but does not require a wifi router to be needed.
Yes, it screen mirrors like a bootleg Dex.
When will the Motorola g04 be released, greetings from Honduras
I got this phone because i was bored eoth apple. I LOVE this phone. My screen quality is fire, its a GREAT size, and it runs smooth. Idk i may be a motorola boy from now on 👻
Where's the audio?
10:21
Can you..not hear the video? Just want to make sure nothing is wrong
It's audible now..I don't know why it was not audible the first time I played it.
@@yashpuri5492 dont worry sometimes I dont have the audio of videos too, just restarting the video is enough
Also I've been hearing some good news regarding better Stylus integration and app for Android 15 ❤
This phone felt really close to my beloved old Samsung Note 10 lite, good display and camera, capable chip at midrange, still keeps the headphone jack and microSD. I really miss the latter when having to step up to the S Ultra lines. Good lord, had that phone not succumbed to display issues I would've kept it or buy this Moto if it's available 😢
I'm hoping that moto could step up their Stylus game as well in the upcoming models. No need for a full wacom digitizer like Samsung does (to keep the cost down) but having a bluetooth to use it as a remote that can take picture + other stuff can be handy. Plus, having a zoom camera would be great too for Students should they need to take pics of lecturer's board from afar.
What country js wondering
I've got the Moto stylus 5g(2021) the green one. I've had it since 2021 and it's just starting to act up but nothing too annoying. Now that they came out with this phone I think it's for me to upgrade.
This is an impressive budget phone. Would you recommend it over a Samsung A series with more software upgrades and should I trade in my A34 ?
Does the stylus support palm rejection?
I was seriously close to getting this phone but ONE OS Update!?!? Really Moto?? You are losing thousands of potential buyers
just bought one for free with a switch to cricket deal. waiting on it to arrive
$200 on straight talk has me sold, I’m getting one on Thursday while I wait for the lime green galaxy s23 ultra to drop a bit more in price. I really wish I could get it in red tho, also I plan on eventually getting the new 2024 razr+. Motorola is releasing some great phones this year. I’m currently using a galaxy fold 3 and will upgrade that once the fold series have a dramatic upgrade
Why not available in Brazil?
I just got this phone 3 days ago 0:14
Only I have noticed this point. and I wanted to inform you so that you also check these things and show to the public. much respect for you. thanks.
How much cost we can expect for indian rupees ? C
For those who have this phone, does this phone support Miracast? (aka being able to screen mirror to a TV without needing Chromecast)
Yes, it supports Miracast
I decided to replace my Note 9 with this one. Thanks for the review.
How does this compare to the Galaxy A35?
its just a gimmick pen phone, camera is decent as the a35. if you dont really use the pen, get the a55.
What is the technology they use for this stylus?
I think it's passive like the previous styluses
@@joemama-mo5fi Hmm.
Why won't they release this series to other regions? :((
Wade, excellent review but I’m begging ya, when you do the camera sections give us a pose other than that cornered possum/wannabe blue steel thing. 😂
One day I’m going to have the most random ridiculous test pictures and it’ll totally catch you off guard 😅
@@TechDaily 🤣. I can’t wait
The best improvement for me is the thinner bottom bezel. Look at this phone and then Google Pixel 8A 😅
Yay Motorola!!! I have a Moto g stylus 2022 and it is starting to show it's age, but still a damn good phone! I love the big screen, 6.8".
I actually changed from the 2022 version to this one, still testing the performances and it's great so far
I own it since 24h , and is so good screen is top notch i sell my s22+ cause soso battery and heat , i really like this g stylus 2024 !
Just ordered it. $200 with trade in of old phone i never use. Only want it for the expandable memory to check my trail camera SD cards. And for the headphone jack cuz that's how my Harley stereo system connects to my phone.
My daily driver is OnePlus 12
Informative! Specific! And accurate! 💯 also.... very handsome 😍 lol
Google Fi has it for like $110 after taxes it's wild
Hey Friends 😁😁
I have the Celero 5G Plus 2024 Boost Mobile Unlocked Version Smartphone 😅😊😅😊
This vs a used note 20 ultra?
Once You Unlock Developers Mode You Can Turn Always On Display On Ive Had My Since It Hit Best Buy In Late May Like Tech Daily Said This Is The Moto Stylus To Get Unlocked.....
Please do a review on the moto edge plus 2023
Motorola relaunched in my country and I'm honestly considering getting one as I'm tired Samsung.
Ima be going from an iPhone 11 to probably this phone I’m tired of iPhone. I bought the 16 pro max but I resold it since I’m just undecided about what phone I really want
I'm surprisingly the first viewer! I feel like I need the upgrade, considering that I'm stuck with the Moto G Stylus 5g 2022!
This would be a BIG upgrade by comparison. Might be time…!
Whatever you do DON'T GET A POETIC CASE!!! The Poetic case made an already huge Moto G Stylus 2022 feel like a 8" rugged tablet.
I'm still using the 2020 Moto G Stylus.
Me too, I have the 2023 5g Moto g stylus from boost mobile also...my 2020 stylus is holding up just fine, the bloatware on the 2023 hinders some performance... making the 2020 look stable and hard to put aside.
@@jevonsims900in my opinion my poetic case for the 2023 stylus 5g is really nice
I am currently watching this on the Caramel Latte Moto G Stylus 5G 2024. Awesome phone so far!!
So glad you like it!
The moto flagships get 3 years OS, 4 years security. I wish it would trickle to the G Stylus 2024.
$225 to $249 and I'll buy. My 2022 was $224
How’s the audio quality from the jack?
I got it and I love mines❤
hi, having had a few Motorola devices in recent years...the penultimate is the g stylus from 2023, a good device in itself but a cheap stylus, outdated LCD screen and horrible updates, but for a few days now I have had the new moto g stylus 2024 as a second device and I can confirm that Motorola has made a big leap forward with a superb 120hz amoled screen, a good processor with very good performance, a battery with excellent autonomy, an improved stylus that is more pleasant in the hand and improved manufacturing quality..., the only point that is still too negative with Motorola is the poor update tracking....this device will only have two major updates, it comes out with Android 14 and will surely have Android 15 afterwards......🤷.., I don't understand Motorola not improving their update tracking, it is most likely their major weakness that prevents them from returning to the big leagues...., otherwise this moto g stylus 5g 2024 is excellent value for money. THANKS
Should I buy this phone
It's so pretty
You guys don't get Xiaomi and realme in USA... Those make moto look like it's from previous century
No Always On Display on oled panel is a shame.
Once You Unlock Developers Mode You Can Turn On Always On Display
This might be the one to beat Samsung A series 👀
I agree but Samsung has a better software upgrade path if that's important.
Looks like a good larger phone option, but if you are interested in photography, avoid this device at all costs! The camera is still pretty awful if you compare it with 5 year old flagships.
No black variant? I don't care for either of these colors. At least the stylus housing is on the correct side of the phone
I know. What's up with them and the colors ?!
The back looks like Samsung Quantum 2
Phone is great but moto cut back on speaker and build quality for the wireless charge and OLED display.
Interesting! I'll have to see if I can compare the speaker, I didn't immediately notice a difference
It's the only Motorola phone that I liked
Im upgrade my moto g stylus to moto g stylus 5g 2024
I don't like the new redesigns to the software motorola is doing. I prefered the stock android look.
Man, those are some thin bezel on that phone.
Got my kiddo a Stylus in 2019 and it was a slab of hot garbage. Looks like Moto has stepped it up!
Need to be updated until android 18
Do you like this or the celery 5 g+
Would it be available for Indian consumers?
Wait till he finds out that cardboard and paper are able to be re-used instead of plastics.
I’m sure we’ll see the P-OLED, thin bezel screen on more Moto’s in the next few years
I paid 199$ on straight talk wireless
