2:30 "This one seems to be broken." Tom Silva, master of the understatement.

I've been watching Tommy for decades...Great mechanic! Probably some of the most awesome true divided lite operating windows I've seen ! I've been replacing and repairing windows for 3 decades, never saw one of these set ups in the Philly area..

Great old windows! Glad to see they weren't replaced, even though they are very low efficiency. Just need wood heat in the winter, and light weight clothes and a tolerance for some warmth in the height of summer.

Looks like they've got storm windows on the outside as well, which helps with efficiency.

So after the homeowner call the show, the show sent out their own carpenter, maybe even Tommy, and they took out the old sash, so they could find out where to get the replacement balancers. Then they put the window back in to make it easier to do this episode.

Does he ever mention what these windows are called? or does anyone know. I have seen them but never knew what "style/type" they are called

I have Malta windows and I cannot figure out how to take the wooden sashes out to repair and paint. There are no latches or screws on the inside of the jamb/plastic rail guides, like the Andersen windows have. Cannot find anything on TH-cam or Google. Nothing. House built in 1994.

So, for three years, the homeowner didn't think to get a friend to help lift the window up. They shouldn't sell houses to idiots.

So for three years, this space has been through rain and snow? And for that matter, security? A wide open space in the house for anybody to come in!
