In the SJ training to start with Izzy was bracing with hands and feet with her back concave into every jump and then catching Tiny in the mouth when he did jump. And Tiny did not have his weight on his hind end, he was really off the leg and on the front end. Poor Izzy.

Zeb is a machine & it's so good to see him get to do XC again, he loves it so much & who knows how much longer he can do it---so let him have his fun while he may! Definitely a little offended at the small jumps---in his head, he would do evey single jump on the course--twice!! Wonderful to see Izzy & Tiny regain their confidence after that glitch. You are a good teacher, Ashley, realizing that Tiny has been trained to "fast!" & giving Izzy a straightforward technique for working through the glitch. Also you are so positive even when something goes wrong & that rubs off on your students.
I love this! Back to basics is great. I also love Zeb, when he jumps he reminds me of those old rocking horses with a straight back and the legs tucked up 😅
Zeb is Legend! Love watching him living his best life ❤ You can tell he’s just buzzing when he’s going cross country. Love the realistic vlogs of what it takes to keep a horse and rider fit.

Loved the video guys 😊. I was always taught to do a lot of trotting into jumps because it gives the horses more time to see the jump but also teaches them to push from behind over the jump. ( as in its a lot harder for them to jump flat and gets them jumping with a better shape). Tiny is improving so much and Zeb was in his element ♥️

So it really knocked my confidence just anticipating it happening. Zeb was his dynamic self looking so happy doing his ting!!! You're looking really well Ash x btw when is baby due? . Something is going on with izzy's horse. He's an experienced horse and there is no reason at all for him to be refusing , or even blinking twice at these jumps. He's been doing this forever now so there should be no refusals . Zeb has a really interesting jumping style...he almost has his front legs over before even considering his back end. You can see it when he does X country as well...
Yes! Good idea! They also make a neck strap with an extended grab strap, which I use when jumping my overachiever of a horse who does a huge bascule and really uses his neck and head over even the smallest jumps. It’s very easy to get left behind, so I make sure I grab my strap before the jump so that I don’t yank him in the mouth. (None of my other horses have jumped so enthusiastically, and I actually had to take a six year riding hiatus bc of a family illness. I didn’t get any younger during that time, so my “safety strap” is a must for my nutty horse! 😂) I think using something like that could help Izzy too. I see she has a neck strap, but she never actually grabs it!!
So how many times did you ride the jumps on the ground along with the girls? 🤔😜 It’s hard spectating!! Gosh Tiny does such a good job teaching Izzy how to cope with a difficult horse, he doesn’t make it easy on her but she does a brilliant job with him! She’s a much much stronger rider now compared to when I started watching early last year. Wish you’d come over to NZ to do a lesson for me Ash 😂🤞
