You are awesome! Love your tips. I never knew what the bell was for until this video. ~~~ I'll make a video Monday 9-14-2020 . I have plans for the weekend and might not have time before then.
First one was last Sunday. Second one is next Sunday. Thanks to you, I believe the next one will be much better than the first! Grateful for all your help!
I really needed to hear your encouraging words! I started my little group on Facebook during covid because I wanted to teach my daughter-in-law and her friends some cooking basics. It was In my house, but again during covid, they said make us a video so we can continue. I think it's about 6 months now and I've made almost 200 of them, and was talked into making my Facebook group public, and posting them on TH-cam as well. I get so nervous and hoping I don't get criticized! But it's just me and my house, and I have a lot of good tips and tricks for those who are seasoned cooks and also beginners especially! Here's where you really helped me... I wasn't getting a lot of feedback, and I didn't think that's why I was making the videos... However, when I wasn't getting it I wondered was I doing it okay or were people not likeing them. I know, I was all in my head about it and I didn't think I would be. The last part that you talked about, about just plotting on really spoke to me!! I get encouragement from my husband and my kids of course, but after hearing you I'm going to say heck with it... I'm just going to keep doing it. Cooking in my house whatever is for dinner, because yep I do make some yummy food. Haha! I'm going to continue and watch all your other videos because goodness knows I only use an iPad and I'm new to that. Thank you, I think you're darling And you're very clear in your delivery which is so helpful to so many! God bless you dear! 💕
I don't even wear glasses, and I listened to your entire presentation on wearing them with videos! You are FUN, REAL, and I am inspired in my own beginning video plans by yours! Thank you, thank you, thank you--from a non-techy 78+ year old!
OMG! GIA!! I'm so Inspired! I've been saying "One day I'm going to start a TH-cam channel"... FOR YEARS! So... Today I'm saying... I'll upload 100 videos by the end of the year!! Thanks, girl!
Thank you so much, Gia 💞 Growing my Body Aware Living channel with 4 new videos of interviews from my podcast this month! May even do a 'blooper' reel of all the tech and audio troubles along the way 😂 Thank you so much for your supportive content!
Thank you for your video tips. I found them really helpful. I am an Realtor who has been planning to do videos for two years, however I didn't have the confidence to do until now. I did one and then I found you and I don't think that I did so well. The camera was up, my head was down and I am not looking at the camera because I am reading my notes. I really liked your energy and seeing you be yourself gave me more confidence that I could do it too. Although, I have been a teacher, instructing many people there was something about making videos that scared me. I have had to build up my confidence for this new frontier and I am a little older so just jumping on video was not part of my upbringing. However, I declared that this is the year to do weekly and post it, so I did one which wasn't so good and then I found your tips and feel more confident that I can do it. I need to relax. Thanks again!🙃
Gia, when you talk about "authenticity", you said "I have a big personality, a little goofy" (paraphrased), but your "personality" comes across SO WELL on video. Part of this is your ability to use your facial expressions, "speak" with your hands. I'm not sure "everybody" would view you on camera & respond like I do, but I think most people would. You demonstrate beautifully how to grab the viewers eye, and keep them interested and focused on what you're saying. Before watching this video, I'd NEVER have considered doing videos on my personal areas of expertise--ICU Nursing skills--but you even make me want to consider that (I'd have to figure out how to do it in light of HIPAA privacy regulations, but I could probably find patients happy to participate, and how to get around that, idk). Point being, you "sold" me on an idea I'd never have come up with on my own with your enthusiasm that comes across on camera! ENTHUSIASM--That's what comes through from watching you. I can't help but want to critique, because you're so good at conveying that, and If I'd like to be able to do the same! I'm starting new job interviews, which is why I'm watching your videos. I normally "interview well", but with COVID, we're doing things so differently. I know you're not ""an interview expert", but I'd love to see some videos on "On Camera Interview Skills" from you. You'd also be a heck of a "Motivational Speaker", or just good to watch helping people pull out of "Social Distancing Funk"--I feel inspired watching & listening to you, and will put things you say--as well as things I'm OBSERVING on these videos to good use in interviews. If nothing else--you've shown me how to get beyond feeling "afraid" or insecure in front of a camera. I hope I can take this and transfer it to good interview skills on camera, more similar to my confidence level in person. It's so hard to get a sense of a "personal connection" on camera without the good handshake, without observing and commenting on a personal item in a prospective employers office, without that direct eye contact person to person. I feel like you manage to immediately make and hold that feeling of connection with your viewers. A big part of it is your body language & facial expressiveness. I'm so impressed!!
Okay - Im sold. I have never subscribed to anyone and I love your videos! Your pace, humor, and articulation makes it easy and inviting to stay engaged and learn. Im applying things you have taught me for the women's event that just got improved by your video. We have our equipment set and lighting tested but this video made all that -better. Ive adjusted angles and even grabbed a pillow! Honestly, I speak all the time. I feel confident. But confidence doesn't guarantee excellence. My message has my confidence, but how that becomes projected with all these new ways to deliver, ie zoom, is challenging,. I want to be better. Thank you for being you and helping me, deliver me. And you are fun to hang out with. Bless you, Inga
I’ve 82 videos up so far, 131 subscribers since end of September 2020. Slow & steady is my mojo. Trying to up my game each week. My last 4 videos have had great traction/ viral for me
That's intriguing...Confidence comes last...I like that. I adore that you are so authentic and so transparent! Even the little things like telling us that it's okay to have an outline and then not editing out the part where you look down at your notes directly following... It's those little nuances for me 😍
Love your content. I'm an attorney that was forced onto Zoom to try cases. Talk about pressure! Thanks for being techy and friendly to us who are not!!!
I just discovered your videos this evening while prepping for my job interview (via Zoom) tomorrow. You are so delightful! Your motivation, helpful tips & exuberant energy are truly inspiring me to be more confident. Thank you so much and keep doing what you're doing because you're helping so many of us! :)
I am seriously benj-watching your videos and it all started with the one about wearing glasses!! Thank you so much for encouraging us to be ourselves and to improve our skills with each and every video! I am committed to one blog post and one corresponding video per week. I am sure I will fail (including this week - agh!!!!) but I will pick up and move on and create the following week!!
Hi there Gia! Just wanted to tell you that your video is so inspiring that even someone who is doing videos just for fun once in a while, is thinking "yeah man, I'm gonna be a youtuber!".
Gia! You are so real & likable! Thank you for making these videos! They are so clear, down to earth and easy to understand! Yep I’m a subscriber! 👍🏼 I’m going to start making videos(even if I don’t post them right away)! It’s scary, it’s not comfortable but after watching your video I love how you say don’t think of your audience as being 50 - think of it as speaking to one of your very dear friends! And don’t bother with how many likes you have- just keep plugging away!! I’m a tortoise not a hare! 😊👍🏼
Wow, I just came across this and I'm so glad I did. This is always been a struggle for me, I have one video on TH-cam, a few on FB and IG. I even started doing reels. I just hate the way I look on camera but I'm slowly starting to change my focus. I have been tryna do weekly videos since November then I had to take a break in Jan and Feb. But now I'm back and I did my first comeback video today since last year 2021. I'm now approaching this differently and I absolutely love your tips, I would love to talk about how much you helped me in my next video or story if that's ok. I think there must be a reason I came across your channel. I already subscribed and will be watching your videos. Thank you again for this valuable info 🥰
Gia, I'm so happy i found your video! I have a super non traditional virtual interview coming up and this is exactly what i was looking for. They want me to make a 5 minute presentation during the 20 minute virtual interview teaching how to do something ( havent chosen the topic yet). I've been through so many of your videos (lighting, make up and confidence) and you have helped me so very much!! You are so smart and amazing! I have 10 days to get ready. So I will practice and be authentic!
You are is inspiring !!! I started to make cooking videos couple months ago and here this month long pause ...)))) English is my third language and it is so hard for me to speak well, make sense, and be charismatic at the same time, not mention - cooking also)))) I am going to keep trying, and thank you for all your tips, it is very valuable information for a beginner like myself!
Love your Tips on Confidence! I made videos years ago but hadn't found my passion yet,. Now I have & will start creating videos in the next week to prepare for the course I am facilitating on Google Meet beginning in March! I need all the tips, techniques & tricks I can assimilate so I can focus on content!
This was really helpful!! I'm supposed to make videos for the local library, reading stories for preschoolers. Sounds simple, but I've been filled with uncertainty. I love your defiinition of confidence..."trusting in the process to produce the results" (I'm going to use that with my piano students"). I took your advice and took notes. Will keep them in a prominent place and keep reviewing. Making my first video today.
Hi again - I'm sharing your videos with my daughter, who is scheduled for her senior photos later in the summer. Your tips are *gold* -- thank you so much for sharing your wisdom, experience, and talent. I admire you very much. :)
Thank you, Gia! Great video. I'm going to make one later this week. I've done a lot of video interacting with folks -- Q&As, etc -- but talking directly to the camera solo is trickier.
I found you looking for tips for a great recorded video interview, and I just want to let you know that I LOVE your videos, and I can definitely use these tips for my purpose, even though they aren't exactly what you intended. Thank you for making this video!
My favorite thing! I’m a journalism student and have to be out there in a certain way but I’m really shy and anxious. This is helping me a lot! Thank you, Gia!
WOW! Love your ENERGY, PASSION and SINCERITY that jumps through the screen. Thank you. This video is perfect timing for me. Start where you are, 1 to 100. I commit to make my first TH-cam video on Monday, January 4, 2021. Thank you again, GIA! ❤️
Gia, I just discovered your channel, I love it. You are smart, relevant and informative, among all the other awesome things you project in your videos. Thumbs up girl!
Hi Gia 👋. My first videos are for friends and family consumption. Greetings and documenting instructions are quick and simple but singing for a Birthday performance took me about 50 takes. That Birthday singing was really a testing and learning time - lighting, sound quality, and most specially how to improve my singing 😅. ❤ your tips.
Thanks so much Gia for the inspirational videos, tips n tricks, you are terrific. I cringe at my first video put up on my FB / Blog page earlier this year but you may have encouraged me to go again! Greetings from Ireland.
Great content. My son and daughter in law are helping me with all things computer. Yes, I'm that nit sure sure what the heck I'm doing when it comes to electronics (🙃 that right there totally dated me). By the New Year for sure. I promise 🙏.... Christmas is only 28 days 😳😲 days away, and I have grandbabies to get 🎁 I still have to comeplete.. I'll watch these videos a few more times for confidence..... thank you💞
Thank you for the inspiration! I've just started making videos for my business Facebook page and although they're far from perfect, I'm learning every day! I'm definitely the tortoise because I take things sort of slowly but just keep going!
Hey Gia, I recently started my TH-cam channel and I've discovered yours just in time! Thanks so much for this video and all of your amazing content! :)
Gia, just spent a week working on four video's. They suck, LOL! I am going to use your tips and focus on shorter video's, shifting my focus and Plan/Prep more. Thank you!!!
You're very inspirational. You actually had me looking for space in my small apartment to set up my video space. My video date is one week from today. I need some equipment.
I made my first video a few weeks ago (and a couple more since then) and it's true, I DID learn a ton by doing it! More than I could have learned from any amount of reading and research. Thank you for this super inspirational how-to. I expect I'll revisit it regularly when I need a pep talk. :)
Oh congratulations Meredith that's awesome! You're so right, there's so much to learn in the doing and it only gets more comfortable from here. I'm glad you're out there doing it. Send me a link and I'll take a watch ✨
@@Gia.Goodrich*squees with joy* Okay so this is my first official TH-cam video, and thank you for expressing interest! th-cam.com/video/VHo2eUAzd7c/w-d-xo.html And for anyone who might be reading this, when I say I learned more from making a video than I would have by reading up on the process, I mean personal things like "Oh hey apparently when I'm nervous I click my tongue before each new sentence, I need to try not to do that." No book or website is gonna tell me that. I had to film myself and see. So my online persona is probably kinda awkward for now but I'm constantly working on improving. :P
Hello Gia, I am new to your youtube channel. Also, I am new to Zoom. Since we have been not able to go out, I have been meeting with Toastmasters across the district that I am in. District 38, Region 7. Positively Charged Toastmasters Club - President. Initially, I was so intimidated getting on my laptop via zoom. OMG!!! The glare from my glasses. The lights from my laptop, and me looking washed out. I am so excited that I found you. I will make a video. I will prepare, write and practice via my laptop and voice recording on my phone. Thank you so very much for your tips and tricks on "how to make it work" professionally with Zoom for meetings. I am grateful. Darcel D. Davenger, DTM
You are fabulous! I love your sharing regarding confidence. I will video daily. What stops me is back ground. Is there something I can just hang behind me to cover wall that will look good? It's way wall busy but great lighting.
Hi Dyanna! I’m so glad you found it helpful. I totally understand, what I’ve done before is go to the fabric store and find a fabric that will work in the background and generally a thicker one that’s wrinkle resistant is better. Buy 2-3 yards And then tack it up on the wall behind you. It’s a really great tactic that actually a lot of beauty TH-camrs use that can make the quality of your video really stand out!
I watched your video on Zoom lighting, now I watched this one, pretty unusual for me. Very useful tips and personal philosophy. Fabulous presentation. Going to revised my Zoom location and send to my daughters. Thanks.
What an awesome video....finding it a year down the line but perfect timing for me and acknowledging what I need to do to get going with my own videos - thank you for sharing your positivity and great advice ☺️
The video using these strategies will be posted Thursday, June 24, 2021 It will be about Decision Fatigue. I have an outline but need to record it. Glad to use these strategies with it.
Hi Gia! I made a video a few weeks ago for Facebook and today made two for youtube. They are not super but at least they are done :) thanks for your encouragement.
When are you going to make your first video?
You are awesome! Love your tips. I never knew what the bell was for until this video. ~~~ I'll make a video Monday 9-14-2020 . I have plans for the weekend and might not have time before then.
Today!!! Thank you!! Your videos are so helpful!

Absolutely, I watch a lot of videos and I always sit up a little straighter and smile when you start speaking. Thanks!

I will make my own video on the 05/15/22. Thanks for the motivations and delightful lessons

You have amazing energy! I love it!!!
It's inspiring to see someone that looks like me making these types of videos. Thank you.
Thank You Gia. You just inspired me! i have been nervous creating my first in-person video
Hey Gia, I recently started my TH-cam channel and I've discovered yours just in time! Thanks so much for this video and all of your amazing content! :)
I learned so much from your video's. Thank you a million times.
SO BRILLIANT!! This helped me in so may other levels! So inspired! My video will be created by 9/10.
@@Gia.Goodrich*squees with joy* Okay so this is my first official TH-cam video, and thank you for expressing interest! th-cam.com/video/VHo2eUAzd7c/w-d-xo.html
And for anyone who might be reading this, when I say I learned more from making a video than I would have by reading up on the process, I mean personal things like "Oh hey apparently when I'm nervous I click my tongue before each new sentence, I need to try not to do that." No book or website is gonna tell me that. I had to film myself and see.
So my online persona is probably kinda awkward for now but I'm constantly working on improving. :P
Already making videos but did not have a clue how to make them better. Thanks.
I love this. Would love to learn how to edit my zoom recordings!
Thank you, Gia; that was so good!!! Hi from Vancouver BC in Sept 2021
Great video!! I'm going to start by the end of the week. Thanks for the accountability. I'm so glad I found your channel.
Sooooo encouraging! Thank you. Making a video TODAY!

@@Gia.Goodrich OK Gia... I finally got it edited. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/No2YiEC_Zrs/w-d-xo.html Your support is greatly appreciated.
Starting today - love the video
Omg I’m so glad I found you!! Your a amazing!! Thank you!!!
Thankyou so much for this video!
Great video. Ty so much!
You are awesome girl.. I am so happy that I discover you 😇🥰📍
I watched your video on Zoom lighting, now I watched this one, pretty unusual for me. Very useful tips and personal philosophy. Fabulous presentation. Going to revised my Zoom location and send to my daughters. Thanks.
