I’m sitting in a hotel 1 mile outside colonial Williamsburg after 4 days seeing everything they had to offer. I was so happy to see this come up on my feed. It is one of the best vacations I’ve been on. Loved Turn. Sad it ended so soon.

I’m not usually a fan of “filming location” videos on YT. But your video is a masterclass in how to do them properly with compelling subject matter tied to actual historic sites and short show clips. Again, can’t thank you enough!!

Very glad to have found this channel. I have been a revolutionary war buff since seeing the bicentennial reenactments at Valley Forge, Monmouth and Guilford Courthouse as a kid, between 1976 and 1981. My family just happened to move right along with the war 200 years after the fact. Finally growing up in North Carolina, and having been home ported in Norfolk, of COURSE I have been to Williamsburg. And of COURSE I watched "Turn (three times, if we are being honest)." This channel is an awesome find for me!!
Thanks for this very interesting Turn tour of series locations , many happen to be in nearby areas I’m in ? Petersburg history dates way back , was also last battle of the CIVIL WAR? Many films have been shot there & other nearby areas ! There has been little change there since those times!
This video was excellent. I really found it fascinating the use of computer graphics to make Williamsburg locations look as though it was Philadelphia. The time in scouting out the dwellings and layouts of streets and towns and choreographing it all is fantastic! So very cool. I love history and wish when I was in school a long time ago that it could have been presented in such an engaging way. Thank you. And it's refreshing seeing your wife accompanying you.

Have you considered hosting a tour of Williamsburg? I went this summer and the only tour available was on slavery. It was difficult to get a pure informational tour.

This was very fun! I adore the ‘Turn’ series, never having watched it at time of release but since have streamed it… then checked it out from the library! Great series and it’s cool seeing the locations. Williamsburg seems very cool and I’m very into the story of the American Revolution.

Oh when did the streets get paved ? I remember the shell, sandy streets . This is fascinating, thank you for showing the plantation shots from the series.
If you are in NYC, go across the GWB, take the Palisades Interstate Parkway about ten miles north and get off at exit 4. The town of Tappan NY is only a mile and a half West from the Hudson ( Palisades NY). Stop at The 76 House, the authentic Inn to have lunch where Major Andre was imprisoned. He was taken across the street to the Church to be tried and up the street to Andre Hill where he was hung. General Washington’s Headquarters is only a few streets away. Visit Piermont and Sparkill too. Enjoy yourself.
I frequently pass through the Tappan, NY area for business from my home in central MA. I had recently planned a visit to Tappan to visit the sites where Major Andre came ashore and where he was caught with the signed letter from Benedict Arnold.
