Serious, my father bought a new 354, I was born in Nov 1970, I can remember them delivering to him, it was a 1974, 4 cylinder desiel, had glow plugs, exhaust out through the bonnet, no cab.
beautiful job. im just beginning on a 574 the family has had since new, could you tell me the best source for things like instrument panel and grill etc ?
Hi Richard, Thanks! to bleed the brakes there is a bleeder screw on top of each rear axle, Require clean bucket and 1/4 or 5/16 inch clear tubing that will fit over bleed screw nipple. To bleed the brakes run the tractor until the hydraulic fluid reaches operating temperature. Run engine at fast idle , block rear wheels. 1)With tubing connected to nipple on bleed screw and other end in clean bucket, loosen bleed screw and let hydraulic fluid drain until air bubble free, then close bleed screw. Repeat on other brake. Do not pump brakes while bleeding. Top up hydraulic fluid with fluid caught in bucket, make sure transmission fluid level is full or over full. Also check for leaks by bottom of dash and along top of transmission cover. Brake lines run from under battery box along top of transmission to rear axles. You may have to repeat bleeding. /Henric
Hi, I have a IH 454 also. It is a very good tractor. I have a problem concerning clutch. I have no idea where I could order parts for that. The clutch parts I did found on the internet are half centimeter bigger than the clutch on my above mentioned tractor. Could I please get some help about this?
Hi, yes it is :) I have ordered parts from these, agrilineproducts.com/case-international/54-series/454/clutch and www.tractorparts.co.uk/international-1970-1985/74-series/454/454-drive-train-and-brakes?page=5, sounds very strange that the difference only is 5mm when the clutch kits are 280mm or 305mm, what is the size on yours?

273mm is the clutch size on mine
I also need 3 pieces of oil seals because the clutch was destroyed by oil leakage.
I think the clutch diameter should be 11"" (280mm) @@jasmter7559
