He had his time and did great work but imagine Node/Mesmer with Adrian...it wouldn't work because he cant sing. Marcus' screams are brutal for a tenor...plus he can actually sing (and sing live). Stop listening to Northlane if youre still this salty about Adrian leaving. Learn to appreciate change. This band still kills it.

Damn. A forty minute set, no backup vocals, pure, raw and powerful. These guys are probably the beacon of hope for prog/core music for generations to come.
In terms of musical proficiency, sounding like a record, few mistakes, overall sound in the mix, this is one of the best live performances I’ve seen in a while
@@Carbonknife721 pretty sure their sound guy is involved with how the live sound sounds. What you’re hearing is a mix from the instruments input into the live soundboard. Someone had to go in and mix these together so they sound right.
I think Josh annotated a lot of the Mesmer lyrics on Genius.com in case you're interested. I think it is here that he mentions Jon wrote Paragon and said it had to be about Tom so Josh used his favourite Architects lines and made some tweaks so they all worked together. Fucking incredible song.
I think this was a big moment for Northlane to be honest. Marcus proves himself in every song. Architects stand by during pretty much the whole set. Sure, the future of the band was VERY uncertain after Mesmer, and the band could have EASILY split up. But they stuck to it and created the (hands down) best metalcore album of 2019. If it wasn't for this fucking album, Northlane could have been dead in the water. It's absolutely insane to think about. Marcus and the rest of the band had a monumental task to live up to the earlier Northlane and release something that would put them back in the spotlight. And Alien did that, and then some. I know this video was before alien came out, and I'm probably rambling, but fuck me did this band turn itself around. Absolutely stellar performances all round.

Look at their first album, it was "angry", and less technical, the second one (the last with Adrian), got softer, more technical, and they keep developing themselves on this way. Marcus was the perfect choice for the band. I saw many auditions, and Marcus was the only one who could sing the (edit:) Dream Awake differently. He didn't just sing it, he made a cover from it. I liker Adrian as well, but Marcus is a way better vocalist. :) But you know, haters gonna hate. :D

I've seen them live back in 2016. Their performance was already great back then, but holy...this is just amazing. That flow of emotions coming from them cannot be contained by one.

Northlane are so tight live! Marcus has the vocals of a god! not too mention the instrumental is so fluent! which is refreshing as most bands in this genre seem to use backing tracks for everything that isn't a power chord.
