- Let's wrap up Disneycember with the one bit of media everyone can finally agree was good from Disney this year. Doug takes a look at Once Upon a Studio.
Once Upon a Studio is a 2023 American live-action/animated fantasy comedy short film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios in celebration of the Walt Disney Company's centennial. Written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy, it was released by Walt Disney Pictures on October 16, 2023. In the film, Disney characters come to life from pictures hanging on the walls of the Roy E. Disney Animation Building following the end of a usual work day. The short's art style combines computer graphics, traditional animation and live-action, and features characters from all of the studio's works made up to that point, including all 61 feature films, numerous short films, and some live-action Disney films featuring animation produced by the studio such as The Reluctant Dragon (1941), Mary Poppins (1964), Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971), and Pete's Dragon (1977). The film was dedicated in memory of Burny Mattinson, the company's longest-serving employee, who appeared in the short and died eight months before its release

Happy New Years everyone! Thanks for another great year!
What did you think of Once Upon a Studio?
Next year, you gotta cover Remember The Titans. BEST. SPORTS. MOVIE. EVER.
Bolt, Merlin, Jim from Treasure Planet, Lewis from Meet the Robinsons, Milo from Atlantis, and Chicken Little were in it!!!!! It's awesome.
I loved it, thank you for ending Disneycember on an upbeat note. I'm already excited for 2024 Disneycember!
I feel that Once Upon A Studio, the final Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse short, Steamboat Silly, & Elemental are the moments when Disney tried to redeem themselves for their 100 year celebration. Plus, I have a soft spot for Haunted Mansion & Wish because I still feel the effort. Thank You for this year’s Disneycember because this was an unexpectedly challenging 100th anniversary and as a Disney fan for 5 years, which began on Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday, fittingly, I really could use some cheering up.
I loved it! This is what I hoped wish would've ended up being!
The old man at the start is Burney Mattison, the last animator alive to work directly with walt. He passed away shortly before this released.
It is dedicated to his memory
And when mickey is staring at walts photo, the music playing is Feed the Birds, walts personal favorite track from the company
Hed have his composer, when they hung out together, play it on occasion while they reminised
That composer is Richard Sherman and is nearly 100 years old and came back to personally play the song for this production, to play it for Walt one last time.
Richard Sherman always believed that to Walt Feed the Birds to really mean "spread love and kindness
Ah, my heart 🥹. That is so sweet and sad at the same time.
Ngl that part made me wanna cry a little bit. It was just so sweet and wholesome.
Aaaand now I’m teary eyed 🥹. So much admiration and love went into this short. A true celebration of 100 years of Walt Disney Animation Studios. ❤
@@SuperKen6184 and it's still better than wish, that says a lot that they had more passion and confidence put into a short than in one of their features
Even better it's supposed to have been played on the old piano from (I think) walt's office or the original office used to musical brainstorming. He made them play that song for him all the time when they were making Mary Poppins so you're getting to hear it the same way that he did.
_Once Upon A Studio_ is the closest thing we ever get to a revival of the _House of Mouse._ Mickey Mouse and every Disney characters, 2D and 3D, comes together to celebrate the legacy of Walt Disney brings more magic to the table than _Wish_ would ever be.
Excuse me? The second Wreck it Ralph movie and Chip & Dale?
I know that this took I think since 2020 as a side project before getting the green light but I seriously want a reboot of house of mouse that includes any new show and movies characters the reboot can be so much bigger then it once was there have been so many new shorts that can be used and not to mention music videos
@@lepapercastle You heard what he said about the 2nd Wreck-it-Ralph movie - they had to modernise the princesses in some way which doesn't look right. And the Chip and Dale movie was an adult take.
What the OP here is asking for is a return to the child-like innocence and stuff that was there when the House of Mouse was on
@@eastmeetswestpresents6923 Neither of those things matter. They weren't complete modernizations, they were cheaply made versions of their original counterparts because layer's are expensive. And the audience for THOM are adults now.
@@lepapercastle no Once upon a studio as everyone act like themselves
This was definitely the better 100 year anniversary for Disney then wish. The best part was that only DISNEY characters were involved rather then just properties that they own.
Yeah, I remember seeing people angry that the short didn't include characters from Pixar and Disney TV shows, when that wasn't the point of the short, it's basically an homage to Walt Disney Animation Studios.
I was thinking the same thing this was a better way to celebrate Disney’s 100 anniversary than Wish
@@DarkOverlord96 Agreed the majority of the characters here are part of the Disney Animated Canon
Well, Big Hero 6 is a Marvel comic adapted into a Disney movie, so it's not 100% "DISNEY"... but I guess that's also true for their movies based on books and fairy tales.
@@KombatGodAs long as the film itself is produced by and released as a product of Walt Disney Animation Studios, I think it’s fine. Especially since their fairy tale movies are adaptations of pre-existing work as well.
Seeing Atlantis and treasure planet even be included made my heart heal just the tiniest bit.
Seeing some love for Chicken Little makes me quite happy. I loved the film as a kid and didn’t know it was so hated.
@@joshslater2426 it's hated because of how mean spirited it is. Also the jokes aren't funny and the animation isn't Disney's best.
I fangirled when I saw Jimbo fly down the hall on his hoverboard, and when Captain Amelia and Dr. Doppler (my favorite Disney side characters) appeared in the background. A legendary movie💙
@@junco88 funnily enough I watched both Atlantis and treasure planet for the first time not too long ago! They're both actually pretty decent Disney films! I'm a 90s baby so I only really watched the Renaissance era films and didn't pay much attention to the films from the 2000s.
This here!
A perfect way to end Disneycember. I love all these characters from movies good or bad coming together, really makes it feel like a proper celebration. Also, Mickey talking to the potrait of Walt, his creator/father, and thanking him for everything was such a heartfelt moment and shows such reverence for walt and everything Disney purely as a movie studio represents. Easily the highlight of the short.
You got that right.
I’ve watched this short so many times I never get tired of watching it it’s so good
It was a great short
Even though having characters from different Disney properties cross over isn’t exactly a new idea (House of Mouse, Kingdom Hearts, etc.), this was still the logical way to celebrate the 100 year anniversary and it’s funny how much better a job at that it does than Wish in less time.
I loved it!! It makes me hopeful for Disney! It's what I hoped wish ended up being instead of the mid tier film that we got
The fact that Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet got some time to shine was very nice.
I liked how a lot of the characters were together.
You'd think Snow White, the first Disney Princess would be standing next to the other classic princesses like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty, but instead she's holding hands with Mulan of the Disney Renaissance era and the most recent Disney princess, Asha, showing three different eras of princesses joining together.
i liked that detail too!
The respect for Oswald in the short made me so happy.
What respect he didn’t even get a line!
@@Jarod-vg9wq Well, the fact that he was there and Mickey said "after you" felt respectful to me.
@@Jarod-vg9wq Don't comment/reply something if it doesn't make sense
@@Marvelfanatic3658 Why didn’t he get more lines? Why didn’t you get it to see a moment of him and Mickey looking at waltz painting together and reminiscing as brothers other times they shared with the mad? If Disney really wanted to pay respects to Oswald West should I made this whole thing a feature like film instead of a short West was suppose the lead the thing to use to celebrate Disney Centennial and he barely made some budget back and when you included the cost of marketing the film they spent a problem we didn’t even do that
Fun fact: Zelda Williams gave them permission to use some recordings of her father that weren't used in Aladdin for this short.
I was actually afraid if they used AI but thankfully I was relieved when I've read about Zelda giving them permission.
They still could have gotten Dan Castellaneta to voice Genie if they really had to.
@@DweditI mean, if they had, true on that
@@AshParth560 the fact that they didn't made that moment way more special and bittersweet for me! Aladdin was my first Disney movie growing up and Genie was one of my favorite characters! I miss Robin even more now.
@kdusel1991 yeah, we all do. 😢
@@seanmcreynolds7642indeed.
Made me feel like a kid again since I grew up with Aladdin, too.
This was a more fitting tribute to 100 years of Disney than anything else
More fitting than wish, that's for sure.
yes
One thing I liked about this short is how they even included characters from Disney movies that aren’t as well liked as others such as Chicken Little or Home on the Range. It shows that even though these movies aren’t liked that much by many, they still have some fans out there.
On a different note, Happy New Year everyone! 2023 may have had some hardships that we all had to deal with but we should be glad that we made it through the year. Also, thanks to Channel Awesome for once again giving us another solid year of highly entertaining content. Despite having to deal with the studio being fixed for months and the fact that Doug has been dealing with shingles/fatigue throughout the last few months of this year, they still managed to get through it all and still give us great content. With all of this said, let's hope 2024 is a better year for us and the Channel Awesome crew as well!
Are you kidding? I love Chicken Little, it's my favorite underrated Disney film.
Same, I mean I can understand as an adult why people don’t like it, but it does has a soft spot in my heart.
Too bad a certin Rabbit , Fox and Bear wasnt invited
Yeah. Chicken Little is considered to be the black sheep of the Disney Animated Canon. Even though I actually grew up with the film, the original concept of the film, where Chicken Little went to camping and Foxy Loxy being the main antagonists instead of the aliens, makes me wish the plot could've made it into the final film than the ones we got now.
@@poweroffriendship2.0 Did you think Strange World will replaced Chicken Little as the black sheep
I’m glad this short exists, because this is honestly the true celebration of 100 years of Disney. Great Disneycember as always!
Seeing Mickey give Walt Disney a little honor was so adorable. THIS should have been the highlight of Disney's 100th anniversary, not Wish.
I agree! I wish that wish would've been a little more original rather than just a rehash of what came before. I'm kinda sick of the adorkable quirky protagonist female that Disney's been doing the last 10 years. They really need to step it up and change a bit.
It was very "kermit touching Jim's portrait" to me, personally. I saw that photo like a decade ago.
To some, it was the highlight.
They interacted before during an 80s tv anniversary special. During the special the Disney Parks mascot Mickey is show sitting down drawing Walt Disney, and he gives a whole little speech about Walt and how he misses him in Mickeys actual voice.
But this short is on the “Wish” Blu-Ray/DVD release which it came out yesterday.
The sad part about this short was that this may be the first, and only, appearance of animator Burny Mattinson. He passed away in February during the making of this short leaving us the words "if only the walls could talk." Also, as a nitpick, the animal stars of both 'Song of the South' and 'So Dear to my Heart' did not appear in this short at all.
No better way to end Disneycember than with definitely the best thing Disney released this year.
Ok
@@Marvelfanatic3658
Alright
Agreed, I love that Doug ended this year on a positive note.
And it's the best way to celebrate New Years Eve.
Totally
This Short should all been a Full length film! Who’s with me?
Considering the amount of money Disney was BLEEDING this past year. It would have been EXTREMELY difficult to do.
@@stitchlover4381I can totally see your point the issue is Disney is being run by people who are totally incompetent and running the company into the ground, I don’t know if Disney can be saved but honestly it’s corona beer ship is not gonna be the ones to do it I just hope that somehow Disney could still exist that is studio or one again be allowed to do what’s been famous for to
Nice to see that they included as many characters as possible. Seeing even the under-appreciated things like Chicken Little.
Also I found it hilarious to see Stromboli assaulting a vending machine. It’s so in character.
This is definitely one of the more better modern projects that Disney has ever made.
He could not have picked a more perfect subject for this year's final Disneycember entry.
This is the best thing Disney produced in the last few years. It is not just a showcase for all the Disney characters, but it full of heart and real emotion missing from most projects these days.
Absolutely loved this short. And I almost teared up once I heard the original audio of Cliff Edward's Jiminy Cricket singing "When You Wish upon a Star"
Mad props to the legendary James Baxter for his work on this special especially Peter Pan.
Lot of the Disney characters were animated by the same people who animated them originally.
Part of me is sad that Once Upon a Studio was the only good thing they put out for their anniversary, but the other part of me is happy that we did get it
Once Upon A Studio is the best short ever! This made smile and feel emotion seeing every Disney character together talking and taking a picture together! Beautiful tribute to the studio's 100 years
Should have been a full length film.
It's such a beautiful tribute! I showed it to my mom and dad a few days ago and they loved it!!
Let's pump the brakes a bit on best ever. The legendary shorts from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s are an embarrassment of riches.
Perfect ending to Disneycember!
Yes
Honestly Iwas shocked how heartfelt and earnest this celebration special was as it really honours the legacy of the Disney animation studio and how much it's touched the hearts of countless generations.
Honestly couldn't think of a better 100th anniversary special.
Not to mention a great conclusion to this year's Disneycember
I've been bitter regarding the direction Disney's been going lately but Once Upon a Studio had me ugly crying a few times. Totally surprised me too.
@@ragingchaosgod Same. I too have felt the poor direction the company has taken this year especially was one of the companies worst year if you ask me. However this special blew me away with personal and earnest it was
I’ll never understand why they didn’t put this in the theaters before Wish. This short is the best thing Disney has put out all year long. It really felt like seeing old friends again interacting with new ones.
I think they realized how good it was and how mediocre Wish, so wish’s mediocrity would have stood out even more with them out together.
@@19kilo241 Didnt want another Olaf adventure short with Coco problem .
@@nicholassims9837 difference is Olaf was half an hour while this was a typical length for a Disney short
Ikr? I remember looking forward to seeing this on the big screen in front of Wish after watching it on Disney+ several times, only to be disappointed when it didn’t play before the film.
They didn't? Because I remember hearing that they would, but did they cancel that plan?
This short was incredible and easily the best thing to come out of Disney's 100th anniversary. Just the fact I was able to find characters like John Silver from Treasure Planet makes it worth a watch!
At least this short proves Disney still acknowledges their original movies
It's odd that small one wasn't included in the short.
@@kdusel1991 what small one?
@@oliversherman2414 small one is a Disney film about a little boy who ends up having to sell his donkey (named small one) to Mary and Joseph so they can get to Bethlehem. It was directed by Don bluth before he left to do his own stuff. If you haven't seen it, I'd check it out! It's short but it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's a perfect Christmas movie!
I loved this special sooooooooooo much. I even cried during the song when all the characters started singing together. It brought me so much joy
I cried the most in two scenes: when Mickey talks with the portrait of Walt Disney and when all the characters sing "When You Wish Upon a Star" together.
Hearing Robin Williams as Genie one more time was pretty amazing. Them getting permission from his estate to do so was a nice touch too.
Problem is it goes directly against the wishes of Robin himself
Doug, thanks for another month/year of Disneycember. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year
Well I'll give Disney this. This short was pretty neat and the 100 year Anniversary project that Wish, wishes it was.
True
@@chasehedges6775 agreed! This has more passion and love put into it than wish does.
@@kdusel1991 💯💯
I'm happy it gave us a little Atlantis and Treasure Planet material.
This is a really, really good short. It's simple and heartfelt and it had some really fun moments. Like, Gaston singing his own song to himself? That's brilliant right there.
What you may not have known is that the old man at the beginning that said “If these walls could talk…” was Burny Mattinson, who had worked at Disney the longest, 70+ years! Sadly he passed away in February but fortunately got to see a screening of this beforehand and loved it!
Happy new year everyone
What’s funny is originally “Once Upon A Studio” was supposed to play in front of “Wish” in theaters. However, Disney backed out on this and instead aired it on “The Wonderful World of Disney” on ABC in front of “Encanto”. I have to wonder if “Wish” may have gotten a better reception if this short had been included before it, as it would have at least explained why all the Disney characters are in the end credits of “Wish”. “Once Upon A Studio” is a wonderful short, and while I do wish we had gotten a film that better represented celebrating 100 years of Disney animation, “Wish” was fine for what it was.
I loved every second of this short!
Every Disney fan young and young-at-heart will enjoy this from beginning to end!
The perfect love letter to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Disney animation.
Happy 100th Anniversary Disney!
Thank you! 🥲❤️
This short was a great way to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary.
Actually for the Wish early movie concept, from what I've read, it was suppose to be a star-crossed lover story. The girl named Asha made a wish on a star, against her evil parents (the king and queen) wishes, and the star came down, transformed into a boy, and together they would fall in love with each other and stop the evil parents from stealing people's wishes for power.
I haven't seen the movie but I really like this idea!
This movie concept sounds good! So many possibilities!
This short was like a million times more of a culmination of 100 years in the making than the entirity of "Wish" This short truly brings out the magic of the studio with all the characters both hand drawn and CG. Happy New Year, everyone! 🥳🎊🎈🎆
I loved this combination of many different art styles for each character presented, not to mention the short interactions between some of them; it kinda felt like a House of Mouse scenario. And speaking of scenario, I love the fact that this whole short was presented in one location: the mulltiple corridors, stairs, entrances and rooms, all filled with characters we grew and loved through the years, and the little moments we wished they last long - that short moment with Mickey thanking Walt Disney, with "Feed the Birds" in the background will forever be in our hearts.
The Owl House finale, Nimona and Once Upon a Studio are my selection for this year.
Thank you for another Disneycember, and I hope next time we can get to see some more opinions on other projects. I have a few ideas in mind, both for the major theme, two films and a game:
- the major theme next time could be the live-action shows, like Hannah Montana, That's so Raven, Lab Rats, etc. Disney was the jump on many popular stars and some of these projects were amazing.
- two films I really want to know your opinion are Piglet's BIG Movie and Heffalump the Movie. While one is a collection of shorts with a big plot in the middle, the other is the introduction of a new character, and I wanted to know your opinion on this.
- as for a game, while Spider-Man 2 looks to be a guaranteed presence next year, I want to know your opinion about Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.
Piglets' Big Movie is so beautifully atmospheric and sweet. Such an underrated film that pays a ton of homage to the newer work, the classic Disney shorts and the A.A. Milne novel original lore all at once.
Once Upon a Studio is the real homage celebrating 100 years of Disney Magic, and for that it's a fantastic way to end of Disneycember. 👍👍
This short was a great tribute, even though it’s mostly fan service! I love how all the characters have crossed over with both 2D and 3D!
I liked this short! Interesting fact: Alan Tudyk voiced the Mad Hatter and Disney got permission from Robin Williams' estate to splice dialogue he recorded in the past to make the Genie's line
I think it's sad to realize that Disney won't have the same impact over the next 100 years. My kids like the Disney parks but they don't watch the Disney movies as obsessively as I did growing up in the 80s/90s.
I’m a 2000s kid and I agree
They will when they get their act together and make truly acclaimed films again, at least on the animation front.
🤨 Right? I'm noticing a lot of kids now and days don't really have the patience to sit through these movies and go through them like cookies. I remember watching Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Rescuers Down Under, and The Little Mermaid so many times even when I was sick. I lay in bed and fall asleep watching these or bring those movies with me whenever my family went on vacation somewhere. This was in 90s.
A great tribute to Disney and everything they gave to the whole World.
At some point, the short was intended to theatrically run before Wish. But it was later decided that it was ultimately sent to Disney+ with a broadcast premiere on ABC in the US and on Disney-owned channels and broadcasters that have content deals with Disney internationally. According to Jennifer Lee, this was because the studio wanted to release the short close to the anniversary of the foundation of the Disney studio. The original plan for it to be shown before Wish still happens through the Japanese release in December of both the short and the movie like it was planned
I legit teared up when Mickey greeted Walt’s portrait. Was it sappy, sure, but it felt sincere. For me, it’s like visiting a grave of a loved one who died a while ago, but you still hold that love and respect for them years later, because they were part of your journey.
I only saw this for the first time a week or so back, and I felt like I really needed it to close out this year.
This is probably the best tribute to Disney I could’ve ever asked for regardless of what the company is like nowadays this short is the reason why many of us still love this company even today with its great hand drawn and cgi animation, unbelievable cameos from characters from many many Disney films even the obscure ones and it just being the perfect love letter to the company Walt Disney would’ve definitely have been proud of this one!!
What a perfect way to end the year ;)
Yep. A perfect end
The fact we didn’t get a movie with a character from every movie interacting is a real shame and the concept was possible
This disneycember has been so amazing! You guys are the Best! I look forward to another amazing year 😊😊😊😊😊😊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Heck yeah, I've been waiting for your review of this short guys! "Once Upon A Studio" was definitely a fitting tribute to Disney's 100th anniversary! Though it's a shame that not every single animated Disney character ever made appeared in short.
But the main reason why they didn't is because, All of the characters that did appear in the short were all from movies and shorts that were made specifically and exclusively by Walt Disney Animaion Studios, While characters from Disney films made by other studios sadly did not.
To quote another Disney movie of this year: so I make this wish:
I wish for 100 more years of Disney so generations can continue to enjoy the magic that is Disney.
My favorite part of this short, is just seeing obscured Disney characters that haven't appeared in years. Seeing characters from Treasure Planet, Meet the Robinsons, even Home on The Range, shows how they're still valued as being part of the Disney family. I even heard they were included as Disney is aware those movies has its fans. It really gives off a loving tribute to not only these characters, but the fans who helped Disney get this far. This short really is what made their 100 anniversary a special event.
What I especially loved about this was not just sticking to primary WDAS, but also them doing the good AND the bad. They easily coulda not included the likes of Black Cauldron, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Chicken Little or Strange World, but by including ALL of them, it acknowledged how all of their history is important.
I Hope that for Disney Television Animations 40th Anniversary they do theirs own Once Upon a Studio with all their characters from animated shows. Their 40th Anniversary is next year and they'll be introducing theirs 100th next year as well. It may not be big as a 100th Anniversary, but it's the closest to it they're gonna get.
Yeah. I would like to see, say, Phineas & Ferb interacting with the Pines twins.
@@diegodubber2140 King Andrias interacting with Goliath
Doofenshmirtz interacting with Bushroot.
Talespin Baloo and Della Duck
Soos and Launchpad
Pepper Ann and Penny Proud
Kim Possible, Perry the Platypus, and Darkwing Duck
Waddles and 7D Dopey
Candy and Greta and Buford and Baljeet and Willow and Gus
Spot meets Schnookims and Meat
Rescue Rangers meet Mighty Ducks
Hooty meets Giant Floating Baby Head
Raine, Eda, and Stan have a love triangle fight while Lilith and Ford bond.
And those are the combos I can think of right now. Let's start a thread!
The question is, what about the shows based on their movies? Will characters from the films appear, or just the characters introduced in the show? Gotta admit, it'll be weird to have Kessie with no Rabby. Or Angel with no Stitch. Or Mosenrath with no Aladdin. Or Cass with no Rapunzel.
Now THIS is a 100 year anniversary movie! It may be only 9 minutes long, but that doesn't matter!
Out of all the things Disney released this year this short is the most genuine. They banked on Wish on being the big celebration of 100 years of the company but once upon a studio is actually made with care, attention, and passion in comparison. The team that made this showed that they legit cared about Disney's creative roots that is a love letter to everything from the current, the Renaissance era, the experimental works, the classics and with the mouse that started it all. I will always love old Disney for what they once stood for rather than the soulless corporate company they are now.
Perfect choice to close out this Disneycember.
Truly, THIS is the golden achievement for Disney's 100th anniversary. Not Wish.
Doug-Thanks for this year’s much needed Disneycember! This year has been full of major transitions and milestones while also chewing me up and spitting me out. Good riddance to 2023 and here is to a better 2024…
I think the moment between Disney and Mickey is the hest because its quiet and not a long drawn out monolog. Its a simple pause in all the chaos and thats what Disney has given kids for decades. You dont need anything complicated or crazy. You just need a minute to stop smell the roses and say thanks. Thats what makes this hit. Its not just Mickey saying thanks but essentially the whole company saying thanks to just one man who started it all. And in his own words- "it all started with a mouse"
Happy New Year Doug and Channel Awesome! 🥳🎆🎇🎉
This was probably the most perfect anniversary tribute Disney could make. The good, the bad, and the forgotten animated films enjoying themselves together- now that’s what I call a legacy.

Great way to cap off Dinseycember! Walt and Mickey interacted at least once. Look up the 1962 Disneyland Radio City Music Hall short. It was also the last time Walt did Mickey's voice.

Fun fact: my family and I got the opportunity to see one of those “Disney immersives” in Detroit, Michigan (which was the first city they started in) back in February of 2023. That was more of a “brief preview” of this short.
Everytime I watch this short I just get so emotional and can't help but to cry. No joke I cry everytime. It's starts at the Mickey and Walt moment and then just full on waterworks when they all start singing at the end. I guess I just never realized just how much these characters truly mean to me.
Thanks for another wonderful December. Dare I say it's time for another Dreamworks-uary now? There's been lots of movies since last time, and if that's not enough, there's great series like Kipo, She-Ra and Trollhunters.

Let’s join together & say goodbye to the original renders of Mickey & Minnie from Steamboat Willie for being part of the Disney family for 100 years, because tomorrow those versions of Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse are about to be public domain.
Is nothing sacred?
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 I think this is one of Disney's best Projects since anything else they made for 100 Years or something like that.
To celebrate 100 years of animation, Disney went all out with this short and it was fantastic. Yes, I know the company has had rocky path for 2023, but when I watched this short I basically forget about all of that. This is a celebration of the characters and stories we've grown to love over the years and most of all the legacy that Walt Disney had and left us with. He created so many stories that we'll always remember and for 100 years that's a milestone you never thought would be possible. So I can honestly appluad Disney for putting this together for us and it really is a magical thing we have and we'll look back on for many more years to come.
Sad that another Disneycember is over, and already looking forward to next year's, hoping for a brighter year for Disney.
If anybody's interested I actually made a playlist of all DisneyCember reviews in chronological order by movie release!
Pretty crazy that we're now at 400+ videos, but I have fun updating it every year, and it's cool to have Doug's whole history of Disney in one playlist.
Hey Doug, thank you so much for being the very very first TH-camr I ever got attached to. I’ve known you since 2014. And I look forward to see what your up to every week.
Best animated short ever. Absolutely loved it
💯👍
What a _PERFECT_ way to end this 'Disneycember' on (👍)! For me, it wasn't just seeing _genuine_ hand-drawn animation again, and seeing _those_ characters and the more recent CGI characters interact with each other, but the simple premise and actual *emotion* that went into this. *TAKE NOTES,* Disney.
Awesome short and definitely a great video to end Disneycember with! I definitely want to watch this short again and again. It was very well done and it certainly made me smile and laugh and even cry a little bit. It’s truly fabulous and I was so glad to see characters from the 2000s and the 90s and the 80s. However I was bummed not to see Taran or Elionwy from Black Cauldron in the short. However I also saw a ton of heart in it and all the cameos that I did see made me truly happy!
Thanks for another excellent Disneycember, Doug! I always look forward to these! I would it if one year if you covered the Indiana Jones Films in Disneycember. As always, keep up the amazing work- can't wait to see what you have in store for 2024!
Thanks for watching!!!
Happy New Year Doug thank you so much for doing this again for 12 years I always enjoyed watching this every December keep this up 😊😊❤❤❤
What I appreciate most about this short is that they even showed some of their lesser popular movies like Dinosaur, Chicken Little, Treasure Planet, or Meet the Robinsons. Making it feel more like a genuine celebration of the company’s history rather than a corporate one that could have easily just ignored them and only flex their most popular and profitable movies. But they didn’t do that, making it come off like their saying, “Yeah, we’ve had failures, but to ignore them would be ignoring our own history.”
I think this was a beautiful special. A perfect way to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary. Happy New Year Everyone
When I first watched this and saw Bolt, Mittens, and Rhino all together I was honestly quite shocked.
I legit thought they’d forget to include him, but nope! They still remember him and seeing him after not watching the movie in years made me smile
Genuinely one of the best things Disney has done for their 100 year anniversary
5:16 thank you! This is what I was hoping for! A epic crossover of all of Disneys creations coming together for celebration the walt Disney studios Centennial.
this was probably the best disney short ever
This short is legitimately a master piece!
