I loved this one ! ❤ I'm a "bat " person too.. I was an active NSS member for over 30 years. I've been to Carlsbad Caverns. Their bat flight back then was estimated 8 million ! Great conservation project ! 😊

LSU Tiger here. Best to the Vols this season. I did see the Steak and Shake video. Good value, great food. Speaking of alligators. I live outside of NOLA in the country. About 2 years ago I stepped out of my back door and nearly stepped on a 5ft gator right outside of it. I'm 71 and don't get around very fast, but I moved fast that day. 😂 Those bats coming out was very impressive to watch. Thanks for sharing another great adventure NCMemoryMakers!!!! Safe travels to all. 👍🦇😊

@studio95951 Thank you so much for your kind words. Best to the Tigers, as well. I hope you guys really give it to Florida, assuming they are on your schedule this year. I know you all usually play them once a year.
Yes, I know you all have a lot of gators there in Louisiana, as well. That must have been very frightening, to come that close to stepping on one. There's something about coming that close to an alligator, that can make you move at speeds and movements you didn't know you could.

Always lived in South GA and no, still don’t like heat, humidity, or bugs even though mosquitoes loves me dearly. If we ever in this area, we will check this out. Never heard of it. ❤️ 🦇

Watching this one reminds me of my parents home in Tavares, Royal Harbor on Little Lake Harris. Lots of gators but true FL beauty.
They lived close to Mt Dora, if you haven't been there, it's worth a trip. They have a big outdoor craft show in Oct if I remember correctly. The drive to Mt Dora is beautiful and I guarantee you'll see a lot of gators and beautiful birds.

I’m a Florida native. Born in Daytona Beach. I’ve watched y’all’s Flagler beach videos in the past. Unfortunately I live just south of Augusta ga now.
    My wife’s hometown.
Floridas wild life is wild. Ive seen thousands of gators over my life time. We use to swim in spruce creek down in port orange. We wasn’t to bright as children. At the age of 50 now. I’ll stay out of the water. lol

@@NCMemoryMakers yes sir born in Daytona beach. My mom lives in a senior citizen community in south Daytona (Coventry Forest) I’ve got lots of family and friends in volusia county. I’m in Hephzibah ga now and have been here for years. Hephzibah is my wife’s home town. 1 red light. lol
Here in Georgia there is a belt of what is called kaolin. Kaolin is a white clay used in many products. I’m a mine supervisor and operate heavy equipment. You can research “kaolin” we call it white gold. They make china dolls with it also. If you’re ever back around port orange Florida stop in at ponce inlet light house. There is a marine science center next to the light house. All the white vinyl fence around the park I installed many years ago. I e got a lot of stories about Florida.
Also.. I’ve raced go karts all my life traveling around the east coast. I’ve got a racing friend that lives up near y’all.

They used to be at Florida Field until they were moved out from there in the 1990s due to the bat guano smell.
It's an evening ritual to watch the bats leave the bat house along with watching the sun rise and set at Paynes Prairie.

    • @NCMemoryMakers

@cicada9471 Yes, we've been to Paynes Prairie a few times. But I can imagine that would be a great place to see a sunrise or sunset.
We did a video there last summer, but we only saw one gator with his head out of the water. We went one summer in the evening, and saw a lot more.

I trust y’all are aware bats urinate constantly while they fly. Which is not to say they don’t while sleeping in their barn, but also on the move! That brings a whole new explanation to why the old grannies in our families used to tell us to “cover your heads and run!” LOL 💕

I remember being at a red light in south Daytona. Intersection of Nova road and reed canal rd. Looked over in the ditch while in the turning lane and there laid a 6foot gator in the ditch median. They are everywhere. lol.
When me and the wife was younger we rented a small place on rose bay in port orange fla. Our back porch was about 50 foot from the bay. Come night fall you could shine a spot light out into the marsh and see nothing but eyes glowing back at ya… lol
    True story.

I know where Nova Road is, at least the Ormond Beach section of it.
That sounds like quite an experience, seeing all those gators looking at you at night. Yes, the really are everywhere here. We plan to do a wildlife drive near Apopka later in the week, and we anticipate seeing lots of them there.
