  • Black Gap OHV Trail- Big Bend National Park. On this adventure, we wanted to do some off-roading to see how the Jeep would perform. Because of rain and cold weather in our area, we headed southwest to Big Bend National Park where there are plenty of trails of varying levels of difficulty. This video highlights Black Gap OHV Trail which is a Badge trail and the most difficult in the park. Beautiful scenery, perfect weather, great trails, and getting our Jeep's Badge of Honor rounded out this trip perfectly.

After running black gap we drove the river run as well so it took us all day between both.

Do you show the worst parts of the Glenn Springs/Black Gap Rd in this video? I'm coming to BB soon for the first time in 30 years and want to go to Talley for a hike. Google maps says to take this route but the park guy says the river rd from either direction will be the fastest. This looked pretty mellow to me. Most likely I'll drive my stock 4-Runner. Do you have any thoughts on taking the black gap rd to Talley? (in case your not familiar with Talley it is on the river on the west side of Mariscal Mountain. Talley is the standard put-in point for running the Mariscal Canyon.

You should have no issues in your 4-runner.

No, it's definitely maintained to a degree. Especially after they ruined it by paving the rock step back in 2007-ish.😒 They also go in there after every downpour and fix the washed out creek crossings.
