    Your Vlog is useful, your Second point is Very Helpful because often German Salary, Student Stipend is converted into Indian Currency immediately and then there's a Huge Misunderstanding with a lot of Inferiority Complex. This Currency Conversion affects Later when an Employee or a Student returns back to India..... Lot of Residents start considering that a German Returned Person is "Richie Rich".... which is not True. A German Returned Person not necessarily be a "Richie Rich".

    Hello Ajay. Its really helpful and informative video. Believe me, my colleagues who went to Germany, never shared standard salary range (not sure why) but your video undoubtedly clarifies almost many things.
    Could you please suggest, how much salary we can expect/ask for 10/11 yrs of experience person in IT for family of 4 members for a decent life in Germany.
    Thanks In Advance.

    • @AjayBamel
      @AjayBamel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Ishan, thank you for sharing such encouraging feedback. I'm glad information shared in this video was helpful to you.
      In my opinion, someone with experience of 10/11 yrs in IT should expect/ask for a salary around 100,000€. A family of 4 can expect a decent life with 85K to 90K+. The more the better. It also depends on the City, for example cities like Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt are on the expensive side.
      I have also observed here that some people find 80K as decent salary and some complain even with 110K. But I guess that depends on the individual habits and priorities. I hope this helps.

    Really informative video.
    If possible , can you guide me about how much gross salary an IT professional (onsite) with 4 years of work ex with family can demand in Germany.
    Also , if possible let me know the same query for 8 years of experience as well for an IT professional.
    How much in-hand salary should be sufficient for a couple for decent standard of life and decent savings.

      Job profile is SAP consultant for both the cases.

    • @AjayBamel
      @AjayBamel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Vaibhav,
      This is actually a little tricky to answer. But in my opinion with 4 years experience anything around or above 60K gross salary is decent. For 8 years experience the same number can be pushed to 80K or even more. This is just my opinion based on what I have seen here.
      For a couple, if both are working then if in-hand salary is 7K or above per month then they can expect a decent lifestyle and decent savings. If only one partner is earning then even 5K in-hand salary per month is also decent.
      I know people (couples) earning less than that and still managing a decent lifestyle. I also know people earning way more than that and as expected, living a level above decent lifestyle.
      Above numbers should help you to get an estimate. But this is just my opinion based on my own experiences. Other people might have some other numbers to suggest.

    • @AjayBamel

      Hi Sagar, thanks for your comment. Hike within same company and same role is around 5%. Within same company and new role it could be more. Switching to new company hike can be even more. Because in Germany you are not supposed to share your previous salary. Therefore hike in new company depends on the role there and not on previous salary.

      Learning German is challenging. For some it is more challenging than the others. If a person is linguistic, that person will pick it faster.
      Business Management and Veterinary Medicine are two very different fields. It will help if you first make up your mind for the course of your interest.
      I haven't seen many people from India enrolling for Veterinary Medicine in Germany - I might be wrong due to lack of information.
      But the Business Management course is indeed popular.

      Hi Sunita, thanks for reaching out. Students going to public schools in Germany get free education. Private international schools on the other hand are quite expensive. Majority of the parents prefer public schools over private schools. If you work in Germany and decide to send your kids to public school, education will be free.

    Hi Ajay, Thanks a lot for the video very informative. I have a offer in hand of about 75k euros and would be moving in Berlin with my wife and daughter .Is the salary a good one considering mine and my family expenses .Also would I be able to save as per your experience. Your details on tax structure really help me realize important points.How much can I expect to receive in hand after taxes per month ? Please let me know .Thanks

    • @AjayBamel
      @AjayBamel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi Shreeyash,
      75K range in Berlin is somewhere in the middle. It's not a high salary but with the right habits it is a decent salary. You'll definitely be able to save. If you're in tax income group 3 (it is based on family and whether both partners earn or just one) then after taxes, you can expect around 4,100 per month. With correct habits I believe you can still save approximately 40% or more of your after tax salary each month.
      You can check yourself your after-tax salary here - www.brutto-netto-rechner.info/
      I hope it helps.

    • @ashblackhawk
      @ashblackhawk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Berlin seems affordable if we can save 40 percent it of 75k euros. In London, one can hardly live comfortably forget about saving a lot. May not be enough if one sends kids to private schools where fees are 20k on average.

      I would not advice anyone earning 25 lakh per year in India to even consider coming down unless salary is 6 figures plus in Euro or USD.

    • @AjayBamel
      @AjayBamel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Totally agree with you on that. With 25L in India one can afford a lot more facilities even luxury (as per Europe's definition). 6 figure salary in Europe is very realistic approach especially in year 2023 when inflation is still hitting hard the saving amount/opportunities.
      Thanks for your inputs.

    Hi Ajay, for someone making 30L in India at the age of 34, is it worth moving to Germany at a package of 86k EUR (70k fixed+ variables), because net income is coming at 3200/- per month after taxes. The city is Cologne. Rent and other expenses are coming as 1600-1800/- eur so leaving very little in the account. Please help

    • @AjayBamel
      @AjayBamel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi!
      If comparison is just about money and how much one can save, I personally feel that 30L at the age of 34 in India, is in a much better position, in comparison to say 75K in Germany. Life in India with decent money is really convenient. One can afford so much in India with this much salary.
      But when it comes to quality of life, international exposure, new experiences, life in Germany with a salary of around 75K is a decent deal. Cologne is a beautiful city. Warm and welcoming to immigrants. With this much salary one may not expect high savings (without compromises) but can definitely expect a high quality of life. I have never had a complaint for high taxes here after experiencing medical facilities, social security, infrastructure and educational facilities. But again, 30L in India is really good salary. Now after experiencing life in Germany, I personally feel 30L in India is slightly better deal than 75-80K in Germany. No intention to influence you, just sharing my opinion.
      Both options have pros and cons.
      It's not an easy decision to make. I would suggest, please make a list to analyse what are your priorities in life and see which option fits better? If you are still not sure, we can discuss this further. All the best!

    • @AjayBamel
      @AjayBamel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I compare your Indian salary and try to put it in the same bracket in Germany then you should get somewhere around 100K or more than that, in my opinion.

      @@AjayBamel Thanks Ajay for such a detailed response. I really appreciate that. In India I am living in Chandigarh so expenses are not much.
      I have been thinking too much and not able to make the decision. The main problem is marriage also, because I am already late for that and parents are actively looking. At the same time I feel this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience skydiving, Spain , Italy, Switzerland etc.
      Do you really think if I take the German opportunity it can hamper my search for a marriage alliance? Because in Canada it's not a problem but I am not sure about Germany. Because a lot of Indians are there in Canada especially Punjabi.

I think social security, medical facilities or education won't impact me because I have no plans to settle down there.. because it's difficult to buy a house in Germany, plus I can't imagine my future kids joining German schools. So I thought I will go and explore Europe without worrying about Savings because i am really depressed about this lockdown and work from home in India. I have my ViSa arrived already so need to take a decision in just a week or so.

Agar aap padhaai mein kushal hain to scholarship milne se jaroor aapko is situation mein help milegi. Thodi air research karein aur dekhe ki kya kya options hain aapke paas. Germany aane ka decision lete hain to shuru ke kuch saal behad challenging rahenge, lekin long term mein aapko jaroor fayda milega. Hi Ishi, one thing that I learned really early in Germany is that German people love insurances. This is one of those country where people insure their insurances. People have insurance for insurances. They insure almost everything. Based on this knowledge I can say that this field must have good scope here (no personal experience of working in this field though). But since this field involves lots of client interaction, I also assume that fluent German would be a necessity for the applicant. Age shouldn't be a restriction as long as someone is qualified and feels comfortable with national language here.

      Hi Naveen, Inflation in Germany is at 7.9% currently (as per June 2022). This is the highest in the last 50 years. As far as my personal budget is concerned - I feel most impact on fuel which is 53% more expensive compared to the same time last year, food prices increased by 11-14%, I can feel the impact every time I do grocery shopping. Energy is expensive by 30%. The German government is introducing some relief packages. But this inflation situation might be extended for one year or more. Things may or may not get worse with time but if this situation gets extended then that's a tough challenge in itself for all the residents of Germany.

      @AjayBamel  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Mahesh, the answer to this question also depends on which city would choose to settle here during job search phase.
      Finding accomodation:
      Generally, shared accomodations are cheap compared to living individually. Shared flats in Germany are known as WG (Wohngemeinschaft). You can search for such accomodations on WG-Gesucht portal.
      For individual accomodations use portals like ImmobilienScout24, Immowelt, Immonet.. there are several other such portals. You can also search for studio apartment for less expensive and short term accomodation.
      Searching job in Germany:
      Start by shortlisting companies for your field. Check their website directly for openings.
      Use platforms like LinkedIn, XING and stepstone to search and shortlist job openings.
      You can also check Arbeitsagentur website for job openings.
      If you know someone already working in this field here, ask them for reference at their workplace. Networking helps to reach out to employers and find right opportunities.
      I hope this helps. Best wishes!
