I have been listening to Andres Cantor yell "Goooaaal!" Since I was a kid in the 90s. He is the most iconic, legendary soccer/football/ sports commentator ever. His commentary when Argentina won the 2022 final will forever be immortalized not just in football/soccer but in sports history as well.

I hate that Telemundo took down all the World Cup highlights like I would love to rematch all those games with Andres calling them

It most likely has to do with FIFA's rules for the broadcasters since FIFA themselves still have the highlights

I screen recorded the second Argentina goal, one of the best goals of all time. It was his call, and I had no clue that Telemundo took it down. Glad I recorded it when I did

I am so grateful that I speak Spanish. There is something about Latin American soccer broadcasts that makes the game 100x better. Getting to watch Messi lift the cup with Andres Cantor narrating was truly special.

17:44 I remember as well. My father grew up watching Maradona, I grew up watching Messi. I woke up early in the morning and saw the news on my phone. I told my father when he woke up and he retreated into the home office for pretty much the entire day, just watching highlights.

So many great memories of watching games with this man’s commentary. All the way from Liga MX games, to US World Cup qualifiers, and of course the World Cup itself. Two games that always stand out for me were when Andres narrated the Mexico vs Germany game in 2018 and the Copa Libertadores second leg final between Boca and River at the Bernabeu. Those were some unforgettable moments with Cantor. Andres will undoubtedly go down as a legend of sports broadcasting.

Amazing interview guys, Andres Cantor has a show called fútbol de primera, when he calls a radio game I can visualize what is happening live, then I go back on what In My mind is a rewatch and it’s just so memorable in my mind I’m like oh that’s what I just saw in my head. It’s amazing I just don’t understand how the paramount plus English announcers have no character I’m listening to them at work on a broadcast and it’s almost putting me to sleep. It’s time for us to understand that the English do not embrace us why can we have an Andre’s cantor, max Bretos people that give a meaning to a goal.

Dude is so overrated. He's so obnoxious when he calls Argentina games.
Dude makes boring games that much more boring. Americans only care about him because he was the first guy they heard say "goooool".
Pablo Ramirez, Christian Martinoli, Paco Villa, Perro Bermudez run Usain Bolt laps around him. They never get any love. Cantor is overrated. Telemundo having the rights to Chivas is sad because it means having to listen to Cantor's garbage commentary.

    • @adrianramirez8329

This is a USA based show and he’s the voice that so many people recognize. Makes boring games more boring? You can’t polish sh*t and expect something else. I’ll agree that the Mexican commentators have more creativity but that’s because Mexicans have in general more play with words but you almost have to be Mexican to appreciate them.
