Mine done work I did it that way hooked it up I loose my speedometer as well and the engine light comes on. I lost over drive it would not shift on day so I was hoping this would of let me have over drive again
If you lock the converter when idling does it put extra load on engine, or would it stall, or it somehow decouples? Any downside other than early shifting if you kept it locked the whole time? Would you want it off in stop n go traffic? How would launching look like from 0 to 60 be like, when the best points for lock up are?
it makes it shift early but basically it acts like a manual transmission when locked, and it also wont downshift when locked so it would just stall if you lock it if you have it in gear just idling.
@@timkooper I assume if it was locked up in second it would stall if you came to a stop? What prevents lock up in first even though you're overriding it?
@@generation-x406 yes you must always disengage before stopping. It will stall unless it shifts I to 1 befor it stalls then it will automatically disengage
I just bought one with a gear vendors over / under drive and a lock out switch with a lil foot activator splitter and I can’t figure out how to drive it .. also I drive 13 speeds for a living haha man I need help !!
On the drag truck if we switch the lockup to on it stalls the truck out or starts bogging so if this doesn't do that then idk what its doing?? Not hating just curious....
@@IManOPERATOR for sure. The stock one can take some abuse though. What's great about this switch is the ability to lock the t/c in first for pulling something extremely heavy. It's also way easier on the clutches in the transmission.

Good video
Keep up the good work.
Nice truck man
Will this allow me to hit 65mph without being at a billion rpms?

It will not do anything at idle. Not in 1st either. It will lock up in 2nd

At least that's how mine acts
Good video, but do me a favour and show that Cummins more respect don't be using electrical tape to wrap up twisted up wires
😉

What if you hold it in first and lock it? Would that help to pull a load?
Trump sticker got you a sub
is there any problems in the practice of locking up the torque converter then the engine speed goes down to less than 1500 rpm?

The whole truck is ground you could of ended the last wire anywhere
Does it hold lock up in 1st gear?
It will lock in every gear. Bit you can snap a input shaft if it shifts while locked up.
Branden Green oh ya I’m getting a billet one installed

Branden Green definitely, awesome thank you for the information man. 👊🏼
Wrong it will only lock in 2nd.
Does it throw any codes?
LOL ... A Trump sticker ...
