      Thanks 👍 Just a lot of practice 😉 that's the point of my videos, to show that as long you have a vision of the end result it doesn't matter all that much what you use to get to that result (to a certain extent of course)

    Those are so creative ways to compose your shots, especially with the comparison for the telephone boxes! You've inspired me to go out there and take photos again with my 1 IV :) Thank you

      Thank you 👍 that's definitely something I could do, not sure how helpful it would be as like I have said before each photo will have a separate process and no 2 photos are edited the same but yes I could share the way I do it and see the thoughts behind it at least

    I've been watching a few of your videos now and taking your advice which is much appreciated. These videos are helpful. I just say that the Xperia 1 V is by far the best phone I've ever had. From screen to speakers to aspect ratio and of course the camera. I heard all the stuff about Sony cameras being too complicated to use. I can say it's not the case at all. And I am the worst at social media and technology and 0 experience in photography. And even I am figuring it out and enjoying it. Plus watching your videos have given me tips to get better. I encourage anyone to buy this phone and don't listen to the b.s.

    • @UpsideLens

      Very glad my videos have helped you out, that's why I keep making them 😉 Sony's software can get a bit in depth nd I can see how it could confuse newcomers but once you understand it makes it a breeze to take photos with 👍

      @@UpsideLens question I turned peaking mode on my settings because I think you did as well. But I see white sparkly things everywhere in the view except on basic mode. Is peaking no good or is my phone defective. It's like crazy white sparkles everywhere in view while looking at camera

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @hdlowrider1903 yes peaking Ie the little sparkly dots shows what's in focus. You better assigning it to a shortcut and only turning it on when in manual focus only, which to be honest you'd be using only in very specific scenarios. Rest of the time use autofocus it's spot on 99% of the time 👍

    Great video, good to see how phone can be used as opposed the camera videos I usually watch. Any advice on AWB/custom AWB/manual setting it would be gratefully received

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks 👍 yes mobile phone cameras nowadays can deliver and surprise considering their size, but sometimes you can use the size to its advantage 😀 in terms of WB i shoot 99% in AWB and trust the sensor, at least when it comes to photography (if shooting video I would use a custom and locked WB) since you're most likely to shoot in RAW the WB can be tweaked in post if needed to correct or to stylise. So my advice is worry about your framing / composition / shutter speed / iso and leave AWB to do its job, it's one less thing to worry about. The only time I'll change it is if shooting under artificial lights which may affect the colours drastically. Hope it helps 😉

    Fantastic video mate, some great pics....just bought 1v .. silly question as I'm new to photography.. why do you hold the phone upside down alot of the time when taking certain pics.??.

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you enjoyed the video 👌 simple reason I hold it upside down is because my index finger falls better on the shutter button by holding it that way when taking photos in vertical mode, that's as simple as that 😅 try it for yourself, it feels very unnatural pressing the shutter button the other way. As a side not I would do exactly the same with a DSLR

    Amazing Tips for xperia users. 👍
    By the way how can i get your preset or link to buy it

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you, appreciate it 👍. At this moment in time I do not have presets for sale as I don't believe in the 1 click process due to how unique each photo is and how differently it will affect each photos. What I will explore in the future though is a "starting point" preset where the basics of an edit style will be baked into the preset without the per colour adjustments which might help people achieve a certain style of edits. Anyway keep an eye out, haven't got an ETA for that as I'll need to give it a proper thorough think. Thanks

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi yes the Xperia phones are little manual monsters indeed 😊 for the time being I am not planning on using iPhone to do phone photography, no dedicated shutter button, still way too much AI processing in raw files for my liking, and no reliable full manual interface.

  • @Raweffex

    Are you using the stock camera app or any else?

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes correct 👍 stock photo pro app in full manual RAW. last week's video was about all the settings of full manual and how to make the most out of it
      EDIT: all the shots are then edited in lightroom

    We want to see the non edited pics bro... We want to know how this phone takes photos out of the box... Showing after editing and praising the phone doesn't make any sense.

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That wasn't the point of this particular video, I made another video, called "automatic Vs manual" where the point was to show the difference between SOC and edited shots so both are shown on screen 👍
      Besides I shoot ALL my photos in RAW format therefore they have to be edited. I don't do just straight out of camera over processed jpg, that's not what my channel is about

  • @johnafk42069
    @johnafk42069 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Good shot. But pointing and shoot your camera to other people without their consent is kinda cringe man 😂

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks 👍 I really enjoy street photography type of shots and that involves taking shots of strangers. Now, with a phone it's much easier than let's say with an alpha camera with a huge lens in it, granted ! People are less suspicious about what you're doing. But it's all about capturing a photo as natural as possible and most times people are not aware of the shot being taken. I do ask people sometimes if they are fully aware I'm taking a photo of them if it's ok, like with one of the stall owners in this video.
      I also tend to have the phone focus locked on a scene and when someone walks past I take the photo so it doesn't look like I'm intentionally snapping them if that makes sense.
      It's just a style of photography I enjoy, capturing and freezing a moment, it's street photography.

    bokeh mode please..

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do not use bokeh mode, and the reason for it is simple, basic mode does not allow for full control aka manual mode. Depending on the subject I use Lightroom's new lens blur AI feature that can be applied to the RAW file. Bokeh mode in app can only be applied to jpegs.
