As much as I love this horse, I can't help but feel that it isn't actually black. It resembles more of a dark bay/seal brown and your reference DEFINITELY is seal brown so I'm wondering how you'd go about painting a true black horse, maybe using a Friesian as a reference

Hello! please tell me pastel on a horse sticks to your fingers? Can I varnish it with a brush? or a brush with varnish will ruin the pastel and smear it?
You cannot touch the pastel once it is applied. It will leave fingerprints. You need to use an aerosol spray as painting on sealer will just smear the pastel around. It will not work.
Yeah! Lots of dark dark and black blending, very light layers and stuff. If you have pastels too they are just as good as an airbrush, but they take longer obviously

Yes, you can totally do this technique with Pastel, building up the same colour in layers.
Could you use the same one as you have of the sealer but the laca en aerosol?
