Antoine Dufour is my all time favorite guitarist. He is so innovative. Loved his Convergences album especially, but all of his music has that Antoine Dufour magic. This is another great song.

When I met Antoine at a concert I told him this was my favorite piece on his new album (and really of all time) and we chatted a bit about how the piece came about. So happy this video is now available to view how he does it. I'm a composer myself and he's given me a new perspective on how to craft such incredible music. Such an amazing experience to see him live and meet him! Keep it up Antoine!

Funny... Listening to 'Drowning' I feel like if I really was drowning, but not thinking about the real sensation. It is like if I was going to a better place. Those harmonics are incredible. I actually have both this and "Air Ground" down pretty well, but I can't pull of those harmonics. Not only do you have to be extremely accurate, but my ring finger nail on my right hand is weaker than the rest for some reason and it always breaks when I attempt the harmonics. I've tried acrylic nails and the like before, but they just didn't feel right for me. I felt that they hindered my playing.

Its an amazing song and i feel that it could easily be a song written for coldplay

When you lay your forearm across the lower bout it resonates differently and when I do this on my Taylor it seems to amplify the sound. So you hear the ‘wah’ effect.
He is doing a "neck bend". He applies a torque on the neck such that the strings become slightly looser achieving that half-step drop in tone.
You can search "neck bend guitar" here on youtube and tutorials will appear.

im sorry man but you use to do it better bro the bass notes are not as pronounced an the ones that were felt to "stabie" an whole thing was to shimmery i think you could re do this with a bit more vigor an life i know its called drowning for a reason but i feel you are better than this sorry Antoine, still a big fan you are a legend.
ben marsh who are you to try and correct something that he obviously spent alot of time making just how he wanted, think, if he can both create and play something like 'these moments' and '30 minutes in london' why do you think something like this isn't played at his best? I mean this is easy for him to play, he wanted it to sound exactly like that, how can you think you are a better judge of his music than he is?
