- / @englishcyclist Today I cycle Grantham Canal from Woolsthorpe to Grantham part of cycle Route 15 of the National Cycle Network along the Grantham Canal to Grantham.
This is my first time cycling the Canal and I've been very keen to actually ride it on a lovely warm sunny day.

Thank you for showcasing our ‘backyard’. I hope you popped into see Roy for a coffee.
Lucky to have it nearby, some amazing work gone on over the year's on the canal & a real pleasure to finally take a ride through a section of it. Did not have the time to see Roy unfortunately, I had to get back and make a Sunday roast for the family (didn't want a mutiny if I was late)
Meandering on a beautiful day, my kind of cycling 😊
Certainly was, I've been waiting for a long time to have the weather just right and the time to enjoy this one. Not the longest ride or the fastest but something that needed exploring.
Beautifully done, Tom!
Many thanks Roy, lovely riding out that way that's for sure.
Cracking day out 👍👌
Thanks Simon, loved it and seeing how this video goes down I might do some more like it also.
Lovely video - sorry I didn’t get a chance to see you!
Thank you Wendy, It was a last minute decision to ride it that day & glad I did too.
Excellent video, beautiful scenery and very similar to the Chesterfield Canal in places, definitely one for my list
Thank you so much @maximumsolitude4215 I am glad you enjoyed it, interestingly I was looking at the 46 mile Chesterfield Canal only yesterday .. any good for a gravel bike?
I’ve cycled it from Drakeholes to Misterton on my mountain bike, only problem was in places the grass hadn’t been cut and was really tall , my feet got soaked, can’t comment on the rest of it for biking but a gravel bike I reckon would be ok
smashing, looking over the route now ! thanks
@@maximumsolitude4215 i feel in to the canal near Misterton last year lol got very soaked

The canal is a lot longer in fact; you joined it on the Grantham leg. If you headed the other way it takes you the outskirts of Nottingham, from there you ride through Cotsgrave Country Park and eventually into Nottingham where it meets the River Trent running through the city. Great video, good use of music, time flew by watching.
Thanks Richard, yes selected this section from Woolsthorpe specifically this time round. The other way into Nottingham looks equally as good too.
Give us a shout next time!
Sure thing!
