Ooo, very cool to see Sophina! Tried to brew something like this too, but it seemed like it might be better with a partner or something like Anim Pakal. I guess Anim Pakal has a waaay bigger target on her back though, while Sophina looks a lot less scary than most commanders. Love the decklist, will have to try something along these lines out!

Cause shes all you need :) The main reason would be a focus thing, adding other colors dilute the focus. So if the plan is to keep Sophina in the spotlight it makes sense. Generally speaking the more colors you add the more good stuff and samey things tend to get.

I always thought that solo Sophina could be really good as a battalion-style commander. Though as we all know, running a partner is a strict upgrade so most people wouldn't.

the other braids isnt banned because its good by the way, its banned cuz it is like golos and was deemed not fun for the format

You usually don't see Sophina without Wernog so this was an interesting build. On the comment about original Braids. It should really come off the ban list. It's slow, not that good, and there are way more degenerate/powerful things going on in commander these days. I could see an argument for leaving it banned as a commander (something that I wish the RC would really bring back), but in the 99, OG Braids is perfectly fine.

About the coercive portal question you raised, players vote as the ability resolves, then the result of the vote happens still as part of the resolution of the ability, so if you want to clever concealment before the wipe happens, you have to do it before players vote in response to the ability being put on the stack.
