Nice to hear Murray Walkers take on Kimi. I love both of them, Kimi is a fantastic racer and Murray, well.. He's the Voice of Motorsport. Nobody will ever take that away from him.
He is a great driver..so quick... he could win the race even he start from the back of the grid... but he is so unlucky for many of time when he in the Mclaren.. the care always broke down for a plenty of time.
@Tranzorr The reason is because Ferrari started to develope the car more for Massa than Kimi. When Massa got injured, look how fast Raikkonen was the last part of season 2009,especially compared to Badoer and Fisichella....Fisico himself said that Ferrari is very difficult to drive...So ofcourse the car needs to be what Kimi wants, nobody, not Alonso,Hamilton or Schumarcher can win with car that is slow or unriable, but Kimi is also one of those drivers who have talent to push the car to its limits
@supercooled In 2001 Sauber were actually pretty good, regularly finishing in the top 10 but picking up a lot of DNFs. Kimi's team mate was Nick Heidfeld and Sauber eventually finished 4th in the constructors ("best of the rest", a long way behind the top 3 teams).
Kimi was so talented that he could have won much more than just one WDC. But I think he lost a bit of his motivation later in his career. And he wanted to have a life outside of F1 too.
What a drive, his first qualify, even his first lap too, not bad for a rookie, Kimi has talent guys. But in the middle of the 2008 season he kinda dropped for competing.
@dencod18 Why? Renault's not bad right now they were ok later in 2010 and this year they have two ok drivers and they are finishing fairly well so who knows what Kimi could accomplish. At this stage he'd be lucky just to get a ride.
Kimi finished in the points 4 times (Top 6 only got points back then) and finished 4th twice. Which is pretty remarkable considering he only raced a car 23 times before Melbourne 2001. Nobody will ever get to F1 again with this little experience.. The car was good by Sauber standards, 4th place in the constructors, fighting with BAR and Jordan to be best of the rest.
@puddingpants7 yes, mclaren had a fast car in the years raikkonen gone to ferrari, but the car of raikkonen almost out of the race because of the motor, and look, as hamilton came to mclaren, the car was perfect. this problem as raikkonen drove for mclaren, the team stolen him 2 championships
@QOTSAPT the legend is making a fool out of himself clearly showing us he had the best car by far in his glory days and FIA and Max Mosley defending all his questionable antics meanwhile McLaren is taking the fight to Red Bull in the 2010 season and holding its own in commanding style so you can believe what you will
@riflemanjim I agree to certain extent. However, he has the BEST car under him in the first year, with a team fully supporting him(even if its in mid season that the the team switch) .He has many years of racing exp before F1.Compare to Kimi who is in a "bad" car in the first year, only 23 races before F1, Hamilton of course looks good..Now, which driver had that kind of support in the first year?not even shumi, not even senna. Look at Jacques Villeneuve and ham than talk.
@Balnazzardi Yes, Ferrari had bad times in 2009, all because of the new rules I'm sure =/ still now they do, but it looks not much, it's improving slowly. When Kimi was at McLaren I used to not like him, then when he drove for Ferrari I liked him lol, I don't like any driver when it comes racing for McLaren hehe I don't know why. I just don't like McLaren, all teams but them, I remember in 2007 they couldn't beat Ferrari without cheating and FIA caught them in the end haha. 0:26 - 0:34 AMAZING!!
I mean, to be fair, Ferrari couldn't beat McLaren (who were running a year old car) and Williams without fiddling with the tyre rules in 2003. Spying on another team is a lot worse, but Ferrari are far from saints.
@jraybay One reason he hates Renault. He said that he will never join Renault. And he was mad that Renault is spreading word that he is in talks with them.
Lol no it doesn't I'm a fan of the sport first. you're the one who cant keep his love for Raikkonen contained. If anyone has clouded judgement its you. And what part about him was bloody good? There is no equal status in formula 1! You're first team pilot or you're second simple as that. I don't know who Raikkonen thinks he is if he wanted to come into mclaren 3 years after leaving them and being first team pilot again.
Believe what you want. And my opinion is not from british or spanish media I live in north america. and I am a Lewis hamilton fan what does that have to do with anything I said? Lol give it a rest.
@ipi223 None.Kimi might be best in term of raw speed.however others are better in developing cars that make their car better then kimi. so the top drivers are equal.in the same car , i think Alonso or mike can be on par. If you ask about Ham, I will think any other top driver in the same car are better than him. he is to aggressive towards the wheels and need two pit stop while others need only one:)
Jeeesus You too . Don't write me anymore nonsense about Raikkonen. that is utter shit you just wrote. He has no right to come 3 years later and be number 1 over lewis hamilton and his salary proves nothing as he never backed it up.
He was a good driver, maybe is back with williams this year. But in this Qualfying he take the 13th place. The 2nd place was with almost empy track. Check: formula1 . com / results / season / 2001 / 34 /
he is driving like hell. he was a devil on the track. in my eyes better than schumacher and better than alonso and i am german. in the time while he was driving at mclaren he could be 2 times world champion but everytime he lost cause of too much broken engines of the fucking mclaren.
Well... Raikkonen got absolutely mauled by the Lizard Killer. However, the car was not at all to Raikkonen's liking. It was very understeery, and since Alonso had been at the team for 5 years at this point, the team would be silly to just develop a car to be around Raikkonen. I think having Alonso and Raikkonen on the same team is just a really stupid desicion, since the driving styles are polar opposites. Between the two, I still think Alonso is the better driver though. Raikkonen I think is slightly faster, but Alonso can adapt to different styles of driving. Look at his performance in the 2017 Indy 500, and in the MP4-22, which by looking at footage was a really oversteery car but he was able to score wins and would have easily been champion if he hadn't had binned it in the wall at Fuji or hold up Hamilton in the pits at Hungary.
@jraybay kiminever cared about being No.1, he just want to race.If he cared, he would stay at McLaren, with Alonso and he will be No.1 driver as Alonso is the newcomer.
@McLarenMercedes all legends are overrated and he is old but you have to admit that mclaren is also very powerfull force in the fia and they have been accused of planing races like renault and spying truth is that the top teams are very dirty and this year at least we can say that mclaren was very lucky specially turkey china and melbourne
No I made that claim myself because nobody wanted to pick up raikkonen and his ridiculous contract. I don't even know what site you're talking about either lol. Ferrari got rid of him because he wasn't performing not because of santander. Be real. You're another delusional Raikkonen fan. I know rallying is very good thanks for sharing.
@bazil83 hamilton is a goog racedrive, but i dislike him. remember the season 2008, massa should be the champion, not hamilton, he had to much luck in this season. I'm a räikkönen fan, too. he's my favortie driver and for me the best racedriver. he hadn't any luck in mclaren, and now.....look at hamilton and the great car Mclaren......
A:bla bla bla kimi is best. B: bla bla bla kimi is idoit c: bla bla bla kimi is god cause he won wdc in 2207 D: bla bla bla other people is better than him. This is how i sum up all argument.
After this qualifying Schumacher said:"This guy is a future world champion".
Too bad it a hell of a long time and people remember 2007 for another reason than Kimi’s long overdue Championship.
You'll be missed in F1 Kimi, absolute legend
The beginnings of a legend.
A problem for plenty a driver at Mclaren, even to this day. Such a pity
Raikkonen what a legend!!! he will allways be my favourite
Bit sad watching this after he announced his retirement... Great driver, end of an era.
He’s retiring now 😢 13 years after this video and 20 years after the clip
Kimi is a bad ass!! he once missed the driver's briefing because he was having a shit, he tells the media as it is... that's why he's my favourite
It wasn’t a driver briefing
Pele speech I think
@Tranzorr The reason is because Ferrari started to develope the car more for Massa than Kimi. When Massa got injured, look how fast Raikkonen was the last part of season 2009,especially compared to Badoer and Fisichella....Fisico himself said that Ferrari is very difficult to drive...So ofcourse the car needs to be what Kimi wants, nobody, not Alonso,Hamilton or Schumarcher can win with car that is slow or unriable, but Kimi is also one of those drivers who have talent to push the car to its limits
ICEMAN cometh!
😊

I thank you for this one, I like it.
WHAT A DRIVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I saw that... he said it was McLaren or nothing. He signed with Citroen at WRC
Raikkonen your the man.... Ice man
The best of them all.Number One.
lol the way Murray described Kimi then when he crossed the line "look at him!"
Kimi was so talented that he could have won much more than just one WDC. But I think he lost a bit of his motivation later in his career. And he wanted to have a life outside of F1 too.
Kimi is the best
What a drive, his first qualify, even his first lap too, not bad for a rookie, Kimi has talent guys. But in the middle of the 2008 season he kinda dropped for competing.
im a ferrari fan and of course i hate mclaren but i never hated him while on mclaren and i was happy to see him replace the legend
RAIKKONEN FOR THE WIN !
@dencod18 Why? Renault's not bad right now they were ok later in 2010 and this year they have two ok drivers and they are finishing fairly well so who knows what Kimi could accomplish. At this stage he'd be lucky just to get a ride.
Murray : Raikkonen
Martin : Rake-konen 😅
Only 23 race on junior level and got super licence just before Australian GP weekend
very nice
How competitive was that Sauber that year? I know Kimi is a good driver but it's all relative to the car they're piloting.
Here after he announced he’s retirement:(
kimi always this guy rule
>Raikkonen
>Loser
I lol'd thanks for making my day
@zhen86 wow, never knew kimi will be coming back and winning the championship in 2207 :O
@puddingpants7 yes, mclaren had a fast car in the years raikkonen gone to ferrari, but the car of raikkonen almost out of the race because of the motor,
and look, as hamilton came to mclaren, the car was perfect. this problem as raikkonen drove for mclaren, the team stolen him 2 championships
@riflemanjim when he wasn't at his best, he was bored :D
I think he's talented. Doesn't wrong if Peter Sauber choose him.
Cheers. :)
@QOTSAPT
the legend is making a fool out of himself clearly showing us he had the best car by far in his glory days and FIA and Max Mosley defending all his questionable antics

Greatest man to ever get in an F1 car.
@zhen86 Well obviously he does since he only wants to come back into a competitive team.
No Kimi didn't turn Mclaren down. Mclaren turned down Kimi.
If only it was 1991 for Kimi, even Senna would have and shumi865
I hope he goes to Mclaren in 2010... Ferrari's F1 cars aren't as good now as it was in ~2000
@jraybay One reason he hates Renault. He said that he will never join Renault. And he was mad that Renault is spreading word that he is in talks with them.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 2012 HE JOINED THEM LOL!
aewsome
@jraybay Yes he does, just not with Renault.
Ice Man
Rakennen!
Lol no it doesn't I'm a fan of the sport first. you're the one who cant keep his love for Raikkonen contained. If anyone has clouded judgement its you. And what part about him was bloody good? Then what is Schumacher? lmao
Too all the people fighting over who is best, Alonso or Kimi, worry not! We will find out next year ;)

Kimi is much better than Alonso.
He will be retired!
Kimi was offered by Mercedes but taught too long and they had to take Schumacher.
When in 2010?
No I made that claim myself because nobody wanted to pick up raikkonen and his ridiculous contract. I don't even know what site you're talking about either lol. Ferrari got rid of him because he wasn't performing not because of santander. Be real. You're another delusional Raikkonen fan.
