i can't watch this ever without tearing up :'3 and this was the community's way of thanking the devs, especially Soken and Yoshi-P, for giving us this game and story. and on top of that, at the fanfest when Endwalker was announced, Soken revealed to everyone his battle with cancer, and how the community is what helped him through kemo, the desire to make the players happy. That's the reason for the message at the end :'3 Not only is it a quote from Shadowbringers, but that's what Soken did QAQ The fact this game's OST has not been nominated at the Game Awards is still a travesty to me Dx

It's kinda sad that people often mention Soken for his cancer nowadays when it's probably something he doesn't want to think about and there's much more to say than cancer

@@altansipdrae2759 true, but at the same time, it was a shocking announcement and the community wants him to know they support him every step of the way. i adore his music (seeing so much more of it in the new Theaterhythm game makes me so happy!) and FF XVI cannot come out soon enough! his triumph over it and desire to still do what he loves is inspiring, and I think is a strong message to never give up, no matter what your struggles may be.

Oh absolutely! I feel that it's not just the talent though. It's like... you ever look at a person and they just have that wholesome aura or something? I suck at metaphysics stuff so I interpret it as: "Years upon years of evolution that have established us as the APEX predator on this blue ball we call our planet have cultivated the instinct to tell me that SOKEN IS A GOOD BOY!"
I adore the guy, just watching him makes me smile. I don't even need subtitles, just put him on the screen and let him talk about music. His expressions, hand-movements, gesturing, micro-expressions ... everything radiates passion. Also, the whole cancer situation he's been through... bruh, the dude literally suffered through SO MUCH but he PUSHED THROUGH and kept making content FOR US! It's amazing. No, it's more than that. @@aronth The controversy wansn't copyright issues. It was the fact that one of the characters on the billboard was wearing glam items that had not been released in the game at that point. It also wasn't thousands of dollars. They came out repeatedly and said it was a couple hundred at most.

There's something about Soken. For me, it's not just about his talent. There are many composers--Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, Howard Shore. I could go on. Some of these guys redefined musical genres and broke boundaries. I think what sets Soken apart is that he worked with Uomatsu to elevate MMO game soundtracks as a genre. And his spirit of acceptance, humility, and perseverance is super impactful. You can't help but want to cheer him on and inspire him even more with support like this. :)

It reminded me of that 1 bozo that called her toxic and a naysayer and I was like "Dude, she's been THROUGH WAR, had to leave EVERYTHING behind and move out. She's a refuge." So it was a combination of a wholesomeness that I always get from Zepla, but also a sensation of fury towards that particular individual. I hope Zepla's doing nice. Sometimes you leave war, but war doesn't leave you.

The only ones who knew he was in the hospital was Soken himself, Naoki Yoshida the Producer, the Head of Square Enix and HR. Soken didn't want anyone to worry about him.
