You'll notice that the tone for the majority of the VAs on the JP side are less...harsh; abbrasive. Part of the reason is that culturally, the Japanese people view yelling and anger in a more serious light. So the devs tried to keep the tone where the situation is understood but less aggressive. So a lot of the VAs come off as sounding more light-hearted than the scene would have you believe.
I'd also be tempted to suggest it's a difference in the theatrical culture too, the vast majority of the English VA cast, especially the main cast have their roots in radio dramas with many being from pretty long running ones like the Archers. Radio drama VA is very different from any other form of vocal performance because it's done in single takes per scene with everyone in the room at once, often sharing a mic in the middle of the folly set. As such they're going to generally have a much more naturalised tone to their lines as that background naturally leads to you reading and learning your lines as the whole scene rather than fragmented takes. It's a similar setup and principal as that which lead to the legendary Cowboy Bebop Dub. Plus the RSC having such a big impact on most British actors of all field means that they have an infinitely easier time pronouncing and speaking the more classical words and phrases.
Really love both VAs, I'm playing the MSQ in JP since most streamers I watch end up doing it in EN, I listen to both at the end. Amazing VAs all around.
Tataru's JP VA also voiced Nanamo, Moogle, One of the Viera from the Shb Viera village(forgot her name), Beq Lugg, the young boy before the Shb credit, and Athena! Her range is absolutely insane
Pipin's JP VA is the Voice for Link from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the voice of Viral from Gurren Lagann en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobuyuki_Hiyama
I wish the whole game was voice acted because these actors blow everything out of the park. I know it is terribly expensive... but damn, I love the voice acting in this game. It is soooooo fucking incredible!
The moment I noticed his voice, I was certain that Emperor Varis would play a long role. I was so flabberghasted, when he died after just a few minutes of screen-time, just based on him being voiced by Joji Nakata. ^^
Yeah, that sounds similar, that too, that too.... and then came Pipin. ^^ Why do so many of the English VAs look visually so similar to their characters? Quite a few of them could cosplay their characters just by putting on clothes and a couple more with just minor adjustments to their hair. oO Seeing that the same (JP) VA voices both the gentle and peaceful Kan-E-Senna and the pure fighting machine Sadu always makes me laugh. :) Maybe not quite the right place, but I'd like to give a shoutout to the German VA of Venat. While the German dub is... mixed, her performance is outstanding and brings the emotions of THAT cutscene across so damn well, even with the somewhat shacky wording of the German translation.
i just swapped to JP voices the other day and its an entirely different experience; i really cant tell which i enjoy more. The JP VA's put so much energy into their acting, but sometimes its too much; whereas sometimes the EN VA's are too flat sometimes
No. Watch the original video without interruptions if thats what you like. The rest of us wants to hear her thoughts and opinions as they happen in her lovely brain.

@@rexex345😊
You can never look at JP Y'shtola again when you know her VA voices Darkness in Konosuba 😂
and Varshahn/Vrtra's JP VA is Kazuma...

Always tickles me that Japanese Emet is Ryu from Street Fighter and Queen from One Piece
Damn, that explains why Emet is so popular. He's just skinny Queen.

my fav thing about playing in JP is that i also get to hear g'raha, zenos, ardbert and emet singing in my idol game.
The JP VA for Thancred is also the JP voice for Gojou in Jujutsu Kaisen
ファダニエル / アサヒのJP音声、写真はアサヒ役の人ですが、動画で鳴っている声は、ファダニエル / ヘルメス / アモン 役の松岡禎丞(Yositugu Matsuoka)の声が出てますね。
Was the Japanese Urianger voice actor the model for the male Viera??

They should've added in Yuyuhase as an honorable mention, even though this is all post-ARR. LOL
Rosie Day was the english VA director for Xenoblade 3 and "A" in the XB3 DLC, Adam Howden and Carina Reeves was in Xenoblade 1 as Shulk and Fiora
Urianger, Thancred, and amyrec’s voice actors also appear in XB1
8:38 - every time when i hear his JP voice, in game, i always think of Orochimaru from the Naturo series 😁
Rie Tanaka is a voice acting legend. Well all are
Seriously.. watch the final scene with Meteion again in JP. Maybe the flower scene as well.
I could listen to Joji Nakata read a Japanese dictionary and be fascinated. His performances in Fate and Hellsing are S++

Also Japanese Y'shtola is Cure Finale, so it automatically makes her best girl
wtf JP Hermes is Kirito and Bell Cranel hell yah
Let's gooo!!!
Man, voicecast is just SSS tier. We've been spoiled so bad
LAURA POST IS SO GOOD
I would have loved to have more moenbryda and her in other content
The Japanese Vrtra being a giant dragon who has lived for thousands of years and yet sounding so young. OMG.
Yeah, that sounds similar, that too, that too.... and then came Pipin. ^^

Tracy Ann Oberman was Chrissy in Eastenders
I think she's familiar to me from the torchwood leader in Tennants DW episodes.
In jp Thancred call her imouto!!!!
Amazing ❤ love eng and Japanese ❤

How about that Trans one that got put in that attacks people like Bridget (GuitlyGear) VAer?
what?
Gods Jp actors always overacts to dead . i know it to contrast to their culture of not standing out and being more theatrics.
Please stop pausing the video. Do the talking at the end of the video.
