It is a public park that spans over 1,300 acres (526 hectares) and is known for its awe-inspiring red rock formations, dramatic cliffs, and stunning vistas. The most distinctive feature of the Garden of the Gods is its striking red rock formations. The rocks consist of sandstone and conglomerate layers that were deposited over 300 million years ago. The iron oxide present in the rocks gives them their reddish hue, creating a visually stunning and unique landscape.

I live in Colorado Springs and seeing the Gardens of the Gods amazes me each and every time I visit. Let me tell you, Colorado Springs is just absolutely beautiful! I remember when I first moved to Colorado {by car} and you already know I fell in love with it and its absolutely breathtaking and stunning sights! The mountains overlooking the city and the city itself really takes the cake for me! I'm originally from Georgia and it has NOTHING on Colorado! 10/10!
I grew up in CS late 50's 60's & 70's left in 78, moved back to my birth state of GA. but I still call CS my home.Went to Audubon Elem. Horce Mann & class of 75, Mitchell high.

Spectacular location AK.
Nature needs to be enjoyed but also respected. We must learn to walk in silence so we can listen to the surrounding. And watch the wild life in its natural environment with less human noise. We are guests in these locations .
Been there; it's amazing and beautiful because the sandstone wears down and makes various shapes including religious looking shapes, praying hands, a group of 3 people, a boat, etc. That entire area of Colorado has many other sandstone outcrops forming various, interesting shapes. Nearby is the tallest suspension bridge overusing the Arkansas River. You can cross the Bridge by foot, bicycle, car, or tram. The tram takes you to the other side of the river where there's a small park with spectacular reverse angle views of the bridge. Outside the visitors' center is a sample cable made of dozens of individual cables tied together. Apparently, all cables are made that way and are not one big thick piece of cable.

AK this was awesome!! I remember going to GOTG'S and Pikes Peak when I was there! I had flew in from California and went directly up Pikes Peak and got altitude sickness since it's around 14,000 ft. Thanks for sharing this 🙂 👍

There’s an annual foot race to the top of Pikes peak every year and a car race! I’ve camped out on Pikes peak twice!

You should see it in the winter time with the white snow the red rocks are even more beautiful! At night in the summer time, there are small bats that fly around. 🥰

Just left from this place and it was mind blowing.
Wow! What an interesting place. I don't remember ever going there before unless I don't remember. I did a lot of traveling with my parents in the US as a child but don't remember this place. It reminds me a bit of the beauty an picturesque area of Sedona. 🧚♀
My family cousin who lives in Denver took us to this park. I'm surprised to seeing you walk here as it is also your first time as we did too like first time more/less 20 years ago.

Me again haha, the path between the two big rocks used to be the main road through the park.
Those are mule deer on the park, called that because their ears are big!
Those are swallow birds you hear and pigeons.
