- I had a few hours free in Colorado Springs while mom was doing chemotherapy, so I headed to one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world... Garden of the Gods!
This amazing park is free to visit and absolutely worth your time! It doesn't matter if you have hours to hike and explore, or just enough time to drive through, you wont be disappointed.

I remember swimming at Colorado Springs. The pool had rocks at the bottom. The name "Garden of the Gods is familiar, but I don't remember the park. This is the first time I've typed since my surgery. My finger is still wrapped up a lot. but I'm glad my first typing is for you! 🙂
I haven’t been to Garden of the Gods since 1983. My great aunt and uncle lived in Colorado Springs and could see Pikes Peak out of their living room window.
Definitely need to add Garden of the Gods to my list of places to visit!

Love love love Garden of the Gods. We stop there every time we visit the parents in CO Springs. My favorite is going early in the morning and seeing all the deer. So beautiful!
I would love to be there early in the morning and experience that! I’m normally there after the crowds have started to arrive

We used to go to Garden of the Gods every summer when we would go to a ranch and stay for a week with our church. My mom’s cousin had a Candle shop at Pikes Peak and would get a candle every year.
I’ve never been up Pikes Peak, I need to do that on one of my trips to Colorado Springs!
Love Garden of the Gods❤ we are having very unusual hot weather this summer, if you ever want to go to the best place to see a concert then Red Rocks amphitheater is a must! It’s in Morrison, CO. I grew up in Colorado Springs. Garden of the Gods was always in my backyard. If you have the time you should go up to top of Pike's Peak either by train or drive. You would love it.
I definitely want to make it up Pikes Peak one of these times!
I highly recommend Cave of the Winds/The Manitou cliff dwellings. Manitou Springs it self is gorgeous. Also, The Wolf and Wildlife Center is a great visit! The Cheyenne mountain zoo is fun and my number 1 recommended restaurant is Fargo’s Pizza!!
I wonder if Missy would mind if you brought home a pet dinosaur😅. Yes, definitely in the Southwest bring a hat, sunscreen, water, snacks, light weight clothing, lightweight jacket, sunglasses, and let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return whenever you going hiking. Also a good idea to have extra water, small sugar and salt packets in the car incase of dehydration.

Visited Colorado Springs a couple times as a kid. Great memories. Actually lived in Colorado Springs for 3 years from ‘09-‘12 while on assignment from employer. We did as much as we could in 3 years. Love Colorado. Would like to visit Alaska. Praying for mom right now. IJN!

Please take your mom to sun water spa in Manitou springs 🙏🏼 Manitou has natural spring water. As you know. It is super healing Properties.

So glad you went there. I lived in Colorado Springs when I was in the Army.. my first son was born there in Fort Carson… that was about 28 years ago though.. lol. We left in 1995. We did visit there and I still have a few photos of us under the balancing rock. Still so beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Think about seeing Bishop’s Castle in Rye Colorado about an hour South of Pueblo now that’s amazing built by one man just research it definitely worth seeing
I absolutely have that on my “must see” list! Hopefully soon I will be able to visit the castle

Fox Run Park and Palmer Park are great places to visit in Colorado Springs. They do not come close to Garden of the Gods, but they are still worth the drive.

You definitely need to! In fact, you will need to try it from several different places to see who has the best one

@@LeggLife Leaving Calif, housing too high. Colorado is beautiful and things are easier too. Did u know no smog or emissions needs to b done and no tests to get drivers license with valid out of state license
You should check out the bathrooms at Bancroft Park in Colorado Springs. Not your typical park bathrooms

No way, I live in Alaska also and just got back from there. We also went to pikes peak. It was a welcome relief to the heat.
