      Any questions send me a note ? The two most important things are a rich mix loaded with fibre and have the mix thick like porridge so you can go up in height !

    I love moss on my cement planters! I have never made any that thick yet.

    Nice job on this planter. I make a lot of smaller sized planter pots for my little bonsai trees and other plants. I also will layer in old fabric and even pieces of old carpet.

    Will you please make a follow-up video on how to stain these? I live somewhere very dry and it would take a long time for it to grow lichen. Is the texture of the concrete potentially better for establishing epiphytes?

      Yea I will stain this planter and show the process ! Has to be nice and dry for the stain job.
      Here in the Andes everything grows on top of each other! We’re in orchid country being right next to a national park ! So many people walk away with bags full of orchids.
      The secret is to making the planters with the least amount of chemicals . Cement sand Fiber and nothing else. Also rub a really good compost into all the gaps in the rough planter skin. Also please remember to water the cement planter no just the plants. The cement absorbs so much moisture and releases it after time. It is a water reserve making thick cement planters great for keeping plants moist and for growing moss. Succulents absolute love cement planters because they remove excess moisture and then release it back when the plants dry out !

      Thank you! The cement is loaded with polypropylene fibres. It also doesn’t freeze here in Ecuador.

    I do not have two men to move planters for me I make large ones on the ground where I want them to be. I also made some mini ponds with cement, sand, fabric, mix.

    Hollow cardboard forms are better to use than sand.

    • @Buildingenjoyment
      @Buildingenjoyment  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Nova-m8d try it out the sand is very effective. I like using cardboard when I use a mortar type mix as the first coat. The bought mortar mix in a bag sticks better to the cardboard. After the mortar coat dries a bit you have a shell to apply your cement mix. I have also sprayed a mortar mix against cardboard shells works well. Wet sand is incredibly easy to sculpt I used dry sand in this video. I have adding latex to wet sand and it stays in place even better !

      Also the sand fill method is a lot easier for beginners!
