What are Attributes? - Speedy Houdini

In this video, we're briefly covering the topic of Attributes. In Houdini, we work with the flow of data through chains of nodes. This data is often carried as attributes on geometry. Attributes are how we describe geometry. Is something red? Is it falling or rising? Is it pointing up or down? All of these questions can be answered by using attributes.

Hey! I decided to rather not link the documentation, but rather, a concise glossary by John Kunz. It's a great "cheat-sheet" to have. I'd recommend bookmarking it and revisiting it from time to time until you familiarize yourself with its contents (no need to memorize anything, just refer back to it on occasion):
