  • Delta is still navigating delays and flight cancellations after the global technology outage that struck Microsoft products linked to CrowdStrike systems. CBS News senior transportation correspondent Kris Van Cleave has the latest.

    Reporters should look into Delta's IT department. I have a feeling they outsourced it.

      Google search says they outsourced IT services to IBM. Which most likely uses outsourced labor to reduce costs.

      @@Tcpaxd3582Delta has their own IT staff that works on the computers and stuff inside the buildings and offices. Delta has been moving away from outsourcing jobs and doing more internal work.

    That company chose a REALLY bad name... "Crowdstrike" sounds like a group of hackers, not an IT company....

    How could a ten minutes fix per computer take five days to fix?
    How many computers are there? People in Delta know what they are doing?

      I wonder if they outsourced their IT Department, and that is what the holdup is.
      Either that or possibly there is something with some unrelated ancillary software they use that got messed up when CS hit.

    I was abandoned by delta, go back to pen and paper. Oh wait, agents seemed illiterate.

      They encouraged all the experienced agents to quit during Covid and then hired literally anyone and everyone when the world recovered.

    The $34 million/year CEO needs to be at ATL helping people find their bags. EB in the last 2 years has turned Delta into a laughing stock of stupid actions against top tier travelers and horrible customer service. You can barely get help in delta lounges anymore for flight help let alone a seat because they give so much accessibility through credit cards..... that has totally backfired on EB.

    CEO pocketing MILLIONS while the airline just suffers along with its employees. This is all on delta at this point. They can no longer blame CrowdStrike

    I hope people avoid booking with Delta for a while to show the leadership who get $Billions in bonuses, that they need to go. The issue that started this was not their fault, but it is obvious that the executives built a terrible airline compared to competitors

    Delta got us good. We are stuck in Maui for 2 extra days. Before you say thats a good thing, they wouldnt give us any vouchers for anything, claiming the computers dont work, and the employees are not allowed to say we'll be reimbursed. They booked us on Hawaiian airlines to get us home, but they put our 4 year old in a separate seat. We cant get any guarantee about our luggage transferring from Hawaiian to Delta, and we lost the value of our upgrades. I'll never fly Delta again. I get the pleasure of putting 2 additional nights and food for 4 in Maui on my credit card in the hopes I get reimbursed later.
