We've recently bought a second air fryer because they're so good and I just found your video. Recently I've been put off making meals that use the main oven for a long time because of the increasing energy costs, but now I'm going to be making my fave again... Yorkshire puds!!
Hi Simon, I just made a revised version of toad in the hole in the air fryer tweaking the ingredients and method of cooking, it came out beautifully, will be posting this next week. 👍
If you haven't got any scales to weigh the ingredients, all you need to remember equal quantities, ½ cup of white flour ½cup milk and 2 eggs , this will make 6-8 Yorkshire pudding
@@Grizzly-UK you are welcome my wife has a youtube channel called my craft orchard. it is about life planning and book journals; great for cooks and business folk etc.
Thats brilliant !! I've got a little airfryer, convection oven, roaster, dehydrator etc all in one, which I love to bits. And I'm gonna love it even more once I have made your yorkshire pud in it. Now for a yummy gravy recipe. I'm from South Africa but the ancestors are all British and Irish - give me a yummy stew and a crispy sourdough loaf any day and a Toad in the Hole with mash potatoe is my idea of heaven 🤩🤩😋 Thanks for sharing your recipe
Ava, they’re fantastic, I bought mine from Costco and haven’t used main oven since buying. There’s also a site called all recipes, she does lots of good recipes.
That’s absolutely amazing Yorkshire pudding.I’m definitely will from now on be using my Air fryer more often .I bet even your toad in the hole will also be tasty beast .Thanks for sharing I have hit the button to follow you on your next you tube showings .Thanks 👍🏻
Well I wasn't hungry till I watched this, now i'm bloody starving so thanks for that lol. I'll be having that later filled with onion gravy and yesterdays leftover chicken.
You can pause the cooking by simply opening the drawer to look and see how the food is progressing, afterwards simply close the drawer and the cooking will continue. It is quite common to check the progress at least once or twice during the given cooking time. Times can then be adjusted depending on many factors.
@@tiffcat1100 Ahh yes for this recipe, but I was talking about other situations where you simply pull open the drawer to check the progress. For this pudding, cakes etc you would wait until towards the end of the cooking time just the same as using a regular oven. Many factors affect the cooking temps and times needed.
I can only imagine this would be if you put a deep dish in filled with some sort of liquid which would be close to the heating element and fan and I could possibly see that happening when the fan is blowing that close to any liquid, the fan blows over the heating element and around the air fryer it doesn't suck up. In general air fryers aren't really meant for wet foods like casseroles stews etc and best used in conjunction with other kitchen cooking aids like microwaves, slow cookers etc
@@davidmbell In the quantity I made I used 4 teaspoons of oil and it does need to be really hot almost smoking, the ingredients were all at room temperature as well before making the batter, 👍

I brought one a while back wouldn't do without it now even cooked pork loin beautiful
Do you do this on the air fryer or bake setting please?
Air Fryer Setting
My parents moved a lot when I was a kid. But I always found them.

Thanks for the feedback Vonnie, The toad in the hole is a really amazing dish simple cheap but very tasty 👍
Thanks Vonnie for your positive feedback, I have to say toad in the hole is now one of my goto favourites done in the air fryer.
Looks lovely, though I would have liked to see the underneath of it as well.
Brilliant 👍🏻

Perfect, just like Grandma used to make
Thanks

Thanks, appreciate the comment from the king of Yorkies
Looks delicious 😋
Super ...a pommie makes Yorkshire Pud...perfect!

I use 3 eggs in a pudding of that size, well done on your video.
Equal weight flour, eggs, milk gives amazing yorkies.
Qué gran idea.... Muchas gracias!
Sorry to bother you - does the machine go on air fry or bake? Great vid btw
No Bother Bessie , it goes on air fry, haven't actually used bake on mine as yet....
@@Grizzly-UK Thankyou for your reply x

Opening too soon might cause the batter to deflate?

@@pamm2230I really love my airfryer. Just bought a dehydrator too (an inexpensive one) & have already done citrus & fruit leather :)
@@tiffcat1100 Just getting an air fryer myself can't wait to start using it instead of the large oven especially with fall right around the corner.
@@pamm2230 You will love it! I can’t wait to try the Yorkshire puds 😋
Hi I follow this to the letter why do they sink when you take them out of the airfryer
I do get the same thing as well to some extent
Ty so much
Did you air fry them for 12 minutes or bake them in the air fryer for 12mins?
Hi Michael, Air Fry, I haven't used the bake function as of yet..
@@Grizzly-UK great and thanks for the quick reply.
In the mean time I had already made them and they came out perfic....air fried 😉👍
@@michaelbrock9122 Nice Job, always good to hear successes 👍
Brilliant
Thank You
I brought a swan air fryer 3 days ago and its brilliant I've done frozen chips and fish bacon got a toad in the hole frozen doing that tomorrow
I always put a drop of oil in the mix
How much milk did you use
What size Airfyer is this please 🙏🏼 ❤
Its The Cosori 3.5 ltr air fryer
I'm confused as experts say never put anything liquid into air fryers as it can be sucked up by the fan that pushes the air round and ruin air fryer.
I can only imagine this would be if you put a deep dish in filled with some sort of liquid which would be close to the heating element and fan and I could possibly see that happening when the fan is blowing that close to any liquid, the fan blows over the heating element and around the air fryer it doesn't suck up. Great,I thought we were listening to the lovely voice of Tommy Walsh, anyone ever said that?
How much milk, you just said add the milk, but not how much
25ml to 30ml of Milk
What temp for the oil please. Olive or sunflower oil.
The oil used is just a normal vegetable oil sunflower is great, the temp preheat was 205c for 5 minutes.
i would be tempted to cook some sausages then when nearly cooked pour this mixture on / toad in the hole mmmm
What oil did you use? I’ve just used rapeseed and it failed miserably
I used normal vegetable oil , was the oil hot enough before adding batter mix ? Did you open the air fryer before the full cook time ?
@@Grizzly-UK think combination of wrong oil and too much - it did sizzle when I put it in and it was on for 12 mins. I’ll keep trying.

Does not look very appetising, I prefer mine done in the oven
It looks good to me.
