      @@scottderechinsky9896 I know but I’m talking when to pause, not about not pausing at all. Pausing while the singer is still singing is bad form. When they take a breath or it moves to a guitar solo or whatever, then pause. The More You Know: .....1) Not "80's hair... this was in '92..... 2) Any "faces" Eddie makes when singing is pure EMOTION.... He sings with his soul and wears his heart "on his sleeve" so to speak... Just watch how he is gyrating on the stool as the song progresses.... that's RAW emotion. 3) This is grunge, and it's what this sub-genre is/was all about.... 4)Eddie Vedder is the ONLY lead singer out of the "GREATS" of grunge still alive. All the others have passed due to suicide and/or drug overdoses. Pearl Jam is still on top of their game. RIP Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland and all the others who left too soon... Thanks for the music boys and good luck to you Kai on your reactions journey. Peace :)

    I always love to see the different reactions to this masterpiece of a performance. In my opinion the greatest live performance I've ever seen. The raw and incredibly deep emotions Eddie feels and the importance of this song personally is something that sticks with me forever. That being said when you pause a song like this so many times it keeps from actually feeling the performance and getting in deeper. But I still enjoyed your reaction and I like how you take some of the criticism cause most times it's nothing personal and you seem to get that and that's really cool. Wish you the best, I know this was a year ago and lots of views later so kudos on the success.

I appreciate reactions where pauses are made especially on the parts that i like because it means that the reactioner noticed that part too..(but back it up a few seconds after that to get back in the flow) .. and Yeah have lyrics on hand, try to know what the song is about going into it... though it's also entertaining to see reactions where people try to figure out the song as they go, but I think it's better if you already know and you have the lyrics with you. And they're a view and sub magnet, especially since their newest album was released a couple of years ago after a 13 year hiatus (the lead singer has two other bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer - you'll probably really appreciate A Perfect Circle).
      All of their songs are masterpieces (some truly are, some are just really fucking awesome lol). But TOOL's standout tracks (to really get an introduction to their style and skill) are: Vicarious, Right in Two, Jambi, The Pot, Lateralus (also an album title - look up the Fibonacci sequence relation if you're interested in geometry and nature), The Grudge, Ænema, Parabol and Parabola (two tracks that need to be played together), Fear Inoculum, Descending, Invincible (these three are from their newest album) - and honestly anything else from them.

    He was known for his faces he makes while he sings..you will see at one point he is holding his wrist..it is to stop his hand from shaking...he was trying to tone down how much his whole body is involved when he sings.

  • @saltedllama2759

    Everybody misses the fact that he botches his own lyrics. He sings the second bridge and second chorus lines in the first, and then repeats them in the second.
    Instead of, "I know she gave me all that she wore..." he said, "How quick the sun can drop away..."
    Instead of, "And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds..." he said, "And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass..."
    He even makes a face like he knows he messed up, but keeps his professional cool. Before someone comes in to white-knight it and make excuses for him, there aren't any. When a singer changes or reuses lyrics during a live performance, it's usually for two reasons: 1.) To make the song more TV friendly. That isn't the case here because nothing inappropriate was said or event hinted. 2) To save time. That also isn't the case here because the lines he replaced (and then repeated in the second bridge and chorus) are no shorter.
    He just messed up. He messed up and still gave one of the best live rock performances ever. Also, Kai chooses terrible times to pause...

    • @kailamay2278
      @kailamay2278  3 ปีที่แล้ว
