Borrowing or securing loans for dead refineries which pass for scraps don't make sense to me. Nigeria should cut its losses on the refineries, instead of pouring more funds into them. Those facilities, maybe except for the one in PH, are scraps. They should be sold to "iron bennders" to to dismantle and use the metals for something else.
Even if they manage to get them running, they will continue to break down. By the way, why continue to pour funds into them? I would rather the govt increase its state im Dangote refinery to 20% with the momey that is being wasted on those sick refineries. The govt can also negotiate with Dangote refinery to offload another 15-20% stake to be sold to Nigerians via the NSE. This will address the security and monopoly concerns of the refinery.

It was the same Nigerians that shouted when Obasanjo regime originally wanted to sell the Port Harcourt Refinery to Dangote.

I know Dangote has some monopolistic tendencies, but I've chosen to look beyond that and focus more on individuals in this country who works so hard with foreign agencies to see that Dangote refinery doesn't come to full capacity, which is one of the reason you see the sabotages left, right and centre.
Just imagine the direct and indirect jobs that would be created around this refinery when in full capacity, the wealth creation.
To throw more light on how badly foreign agencies doesn't want this refinery to work, they resorted in using one of our finest investigative journalist David Hundeyin, but unbeknowest and quite unfortunately for them, David extracted all the vital information they want him to use to sabotage the Refinery investment by Dangote via the climate change route, stating that, "Dangote refinery is terrible for the environment because of Environmental Concerns" David decided to expose them for who they're while holding them to the jugular.
Again David has shown his patriotism not just to Nigeria but to Africa in general.

Why is NNPCL continues to borrow? WHY?
Four refineries not functioning for years in spite of humongous spending on turn around. The most unpatriotic elements are in NNPCL

Anything short of National priority full supply to Dangote by Nnpc even if it means temporary hold on outside supply (5m barrel) goes a long way in addressing part of our national fuel challenges. That Kyari/average Farouk should be honourable to take a work..Please Tinubu let real players and professionals be in charge of nnpc so that you can also breathe with Nigerians..Look at the way this young man articulated solid and valid points void of quota system stupidity going on in that oil sector.

We have lots of brains in Nigeria, but they are mostly not nationalistic and lack sincerity. So it goes beyond just brains.

This government has all these "economists and experts" in economy and finance. What are their contributions to the economy and the country. Why has this government not fired all the heads of the agencies related to the Petroleum industry knowing that it is presently the highest producer of forex for the country. A serious sincere government would have taken action, in fact they can use this protest as an incentive or excuse to fire and hire new capable and patriotic hands.
